Big Horn Blonde

Big Horn Blonde

It is designed to attract the beginning micro beer drinker. The addition of Willamette and Cascade hops gives this ale a crisp, clean character that is not challenging to a novice. This beer is enjoyed by experienced micro drinkers because of its character.

2.5 This was borderline bearable for me with the hops. It would not be fair for me to rate this style which I just don’t prefer but I do so to remember the beers at the brewery. If you like hops you probably like this I guess.
3.1 On tap at Ram, Tacoma. A clear one, more or less, topped by a small, white head. Pale golden in color. Some grains in the aroma, but it’s mostly fruity. Peaches and canned pears spring to mind. Pretty similar flavor, with a nice drying bitterness. Medium body, quite dry, with pleasant carbonation. Certainly not a world class beer, but it’s tasteful and thirst quenching. 130629
2.4 Clear green-tinged yellow with thin white lacing. No nose. Creamy body with a yeasty/ musky flavor. Nothing to write home about.
2.3 On tap in Richardson, Texas. Golden color with a white head. Aroma is lemons and oranges. Flavor is wheat and biscuit malt, with a ton of what strongly resembles circus peanuts. Thin mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Not good at all, but there are worse beers on tap at Humperdinks.
1.9 Draft from notes. Meh, pretty lame beer. Mostly grains and corn with judt a hint of citrus. Pass.
2.4 On tap at C.B. Potts Greenwood Village location. Pour is clear yellow in a appearance with a frothy white head and great lacing. Grainy, corny, somewhat biscuity aroma - pretty bland. Taste is lightly grassy, grain, cereal, biscuit, straw, an and spritzy with a light hop bite on the finish. Light body with high carbonation. Refreshing, but nothing to get excited about.
1.6 A good beer for people who don’t care def not beginning craft beer enthusiasts.
3.0 Sampler at The Ram, Schaumburg. A decidedly beginner’s level craft beer, but a style that often doesn’t hit the mark for me. Looks like their pilsener, just with a bit more foam clinging to the meniscus. A bit less sweet than the pilsener I had before this sample. Use of mostly US hops gives it a bit more contrast.
2.6 Tap. Pours clear pale yellow with average, feothy white head; decent retention and lacing. Aroma is corn, lemongrass, biscuit malt, and light fruit. Flavor is dry, lightly sweet malts forward with corn, light fruit esters, and faint citrus hops; crisp, dry finish. Light body and medium carbonation.
2.7 On tap at Schaumburg location, pours a pale yellow with a very thin head, the aroma is of mainly grain and corn, a little bit of fruit in the finish but the metallic finish really takes over, meh.
3.2 On tap @ C.I. Shenanigans in Spokane. Medium gold, lacy white head. Nice light fruity hops and medium bitterness, clean grains. I was surprised to find that this beer gets clobbered in the ratings. I thought it was a nice, particularly for a style that is often so dull.
2.1 Pours clear golden with a small pure white head. Aroma shows some saltine crackers. Kind of bland but nice grainy aftertaste.
1.4 On tap at the RAM brewery - Yellow and very clear with a small head. It did have somewhat of a creamy taste but not much besides that. Weak.
2.8 Light aroma of corn, no carbonation, very light pils color, clear, light and crisp. No sweetness at all. Very balanced!
2.5 A very light blonde with strong carbonation and a very minimal head. Light malt aroma with a slightly spicy taste. Clean finish with slight malt aftertaste.
3.0 Color is light light gold or yellow. Lots of activity on this beer the co2 is noticeable from the start. There is almost no smell to it at all. It is clear as can be. I mean I could read a book through it. Body is light and taste light. It is slightly sweet. Almost no malt and no bitterness. on the palate there is not as much co2 as you would think. it is really smooth. I like this beer for a light option. It is their answer for the customer that wants a bud light I am certain. Boisebeer
3.0 corn yellow in color with a very thin white head that doesn’t stick around long. grains and malt on the nose. taste is very crisp and clean, malt dominated with a nice touch of hops at the end. probably could drink these all night
3.5 Draft at the Wheeling location. Pours a bright pale gold with a resilient white head. The nose is soft grainy malts and a fruity note. Clean and lightly citrus as well. On tasting, crisp and clean. strong notes of pilsner with a soft hop flavor. Very clean overall and refreshing. Good beer.
2.6 On tap at the Wheeling, IL location. (AKA:Chicago Blond). Served a clear golden color with a decent head that fades to some lacing. Aroma os some caramel sweetness, citrus and fresh grain. Mild taste of citrus, with some caramel sweetness and grain. Mild bitterness and a dry finish. Light body, smooth and refreshing. Not bad for a Blonde Ale. Goes best with food.
1.9 Sampler at brewpub in Arllington. Served as Texas Blonde. Comes pale yellow with thin white head. Aroma of grain and grass. Taste is mild grain, citrus, malt, and some hops. Passable.
2.0 Sold to me as Texas Blonde at Humperdink’s in Dallas, Tx. Yellow with a white head. Grassy aroma. Slightly metallic. Good lacing. Medium body. A bit gummy.
2.0 At the Rosemont location. The pale lager of the ale world. This was quite light and slightly watery. Good as an alternative to macro stuff. Serving; Tap
3.2 Tap. Orange and barley malt aroma. Golden yellow color with small head. Sweet orange/lemon and barley malt flavor. Lightly bitter herbal hops finish. A decent drinking beer.
1.1 Pours golden with small white head. Aroma is light malt with a hint of butterscotch. Taste is light malt with a hint of toffee. Not very good.
1.3 draft... Humperdink’s Texas Blonde... this is indistinguishable from the Juan Moore, same look and aroma, does taste worse
3.0 A decent blonde. Very approachable nice nose and taste, a bit bland but a nice blend of malts and grains with a touch of hops. A good beer from time to time, but not something I would grab a growler of to go...
3.1 Had as Humperdinks Texas Blonde.. On Draft in Dallas .. . light and refreshing and it has the taste to back it up .. . light grains and hay, very tasty .. . a great summer brew, i quite enjoyed it .. . Would Willie’s fence-mending eggs bear fruit? Or would his olive branch be torn apart by woodpeckers of mistrust?
2.4 Light and boring. Not much flavor or aroma. A definite entry beer but not a good representation of craft beers.
2.0 Tap in Schaumberg. Pours clear pale yellow with a small, fizzy white head, short retention with no lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cereal, meal, grain), light hops (spicy), and notes of corn. Flavor is malty and lightly bitter. Light body, low warmth, medium carbonation and a dry finish.
3.0 Ram’s version of the Blonde Ale. Really light, and yeah everyone has to start somewhere, but sometimes you don’t want to.
