3.0 Bottle. Tastes like honey, corn, light spice, and toasted malt. Light body and low/medium carbonation. Smells like honey, toasted .malt, and light spice.
4.0 Another good beer from Big Sky Brewing pour a nice golden color, about a one finger head, sweet aroma very drinkable.
2.9 From a can it is a clear pale yellow with an off white. The aroma is malt and the taste is thin ginger ale and some citrus. The finish is malt
3.0 From a 10 oz can. Pours a pale gold with an off white. Malty nose. Flavors of bread dough and light citrus.
2.9 drinkable; aroma of malt/grain. I do taste a little honey in flavor. a little after taste of ?? that hurts this from being really easy to drink
3.5 12 oz from bottle while camping in Yellowstone. Nose is spiced, a little sweet, lightly malty. Light body, crisp, carbonated. Fairly strong spice in the taste (clove and maybe pepper), a hint of honey sweetness, pale-ale-level malt. Pretty decent. I had it a few months ago poured and recall it being tastier. Might be better from a glass.
3.2 More spices than honey on the nose. Get some honey and spices on the nose. Goes down easy enough but a slightly odd, funky aftertaste.
3.2 Served on tap in a pint glass Appearance- The beer pours a clear golden amber color with a light white head. The head fades rather quickly leaving just a thin layer of foamy white lace on the sides of the glass. Smell-The aroma of the beer is grainy with a little bit of a honey smell mixed within. Along with these smells comes some light aromas of a cracker and slightly herbal and floral smell. Taste – The taste begins with a rather crackery and slightly doughy taste mixed with a little bit of a honey. The honey gets stronger and stronger as the taste advances, with it becoming of moderate strength by the end, but never too overpowering. Along with honey increasing more graininess comes to the tongue and with little bit of a floral and herbal flavor coming to the tongue, one is left with a rather crisp and slightly grainy taste to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel-The body of the beer is rather light in terms of its thickness and chewiness with a carbonation level that is on the average side. For the crisp flavors and the mix of honey and grain it creates a rather refreshing feel overall. Overall- Not a fantastic beer, but by no means offensive. Worth a try and a moderately decent warm summer day beer.
2.8 New England Bucket List Trip #261. Bottle shared by jackl. Pours a slightly hazy golden with a thin fizzy off-white head. Good head retention. Aroma of honey, bready malt, plastic and raw grain. The taste is grainy malt and honey. Medium bodied, simple.
2.6 Bottle @ home. Not sure where I acquired this beast. Gold with a small head. Pretty sweet. Loads of honeyed bread. Baked croissant. Soft white grape and pear. Mellow sweet cereal body. More bread. Sweet and easy-drinking. Some cream. White grape. Light body, moderate carbonation. Not much going on, but this is a totally inoffensive blonde number.
3.0 Bottle. Medium golden hue, average white head. Aroma is sweet honey and grains. Honey and ginger-ale flavours, grainy palate. Not overly sweet which is both surprising and good. Better than I thought it would be actually.
3.9 12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 9/3/2014. Pours slightly hazy bright golden color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, orange zest, pear, wheat, cracker, biscuit, honey, coriander, herbal, grass, light pepper, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance of pale malt, earthy hops, spice, and yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, orange zest, pear, wheat, cracker, biscuit, honey, coriander, herbal, grass, light pepper, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Slight earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, orange, pear, wheat, cracker, biscuit, honey, coriander, herbal, grass, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of pale malt, earthy hops, spice, and yeast ester flavors; with a goood malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with no warming present after the finish as expected for 5%. Overall this is a very nice blonde ale style. All around good balance and robustness of pale malt, earthy hops, spice, and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
3.2 On draft at Tap 25. It pours a clear yellow color with a white head. The aroma has light honey, florals and pilsner maltiness. The flavor is floral, citrusy with some grapefruit in the finish. Another clean, refreshing beer from Big Sky. Nice, but not too exciting.
2.8 Botte, pours a rich clear orange. Wheat, citrus aroma. Taste of wheat and citrus with some light spice.
2.9 can from Utah state liquor store Park City. pours golden with an inch of white foam. Leaves a ton of lacing. a slight spice note on the nose. Definite honey on the tongue but it fades quickly. finishes clean. It’s not the most exciting beer from big sky but it’s competently made.
3.4 I had this at Global Brew. Pours gold with a white head. Taste sweet, spice. I thought this was so so. I would skip next time.
2.6 A bit of orange peel and white pepper. Bit of hops in the finish. Clear and clean tasting.
3.1 Average beer. Was not my favorite. Robert likes it. You could get used to it I guess
3.7 I never expect too much from "summer" ales as they tend to just be bland blonds w/o much going on but this one is pretty great. It is a light golden brew w/ a mild floral character and a kiss of citrus from coriander. This is rather on the dry side and light to medium bodied but comes off w/ just a touch of sweetness because it is not all that bitter. Brisk carbonation contributes to a light mouthfeel and easy drinkability. This is one that will definitely hit the spot on a nice summer day.
3.0 Somewhat cloudy gold/orange appearance. Head starts out finger-length, but disappears rapidly. Sporadic lacing. Aroma of honey and earth. Flavor follows suit. Having this after a workout at the gym, and it’s hitting the spot. Nice mild summer brew that does what it’s supposed to do - not wow you, but fit the context of a hot weather or post-workout thirst quencher that still has some flavor. Certainly a better choice than the typical macro pale lager.
2.5 bottle @ John’s Grocery / Iowa City IA --- Clear pale amber with a bubbly white head and heavy stripes of lace. Taste is sweet caramel malt with carbonation and mild bittering coming along in the palate, then fading quickly in a short finish. Modest and unassuming, not a lot there, but agreeable enough.
4.2 Surprised by low ratings. This is a very nice, very smooth, very flavorful brew. Better than its ABV would suggest. Recommended!
3.1 Draft at Dan's Tavern. Clear gold with a white head. Sweet honey and clean. Turns grainy and Cheerio flavored at the end.
3.3 Bottle pour. Pours golden with a sweet, bready aroma. Flavor is a lot of sweet caramel and bread. Wheat flavors throughout. Very light beer, and all flavor is really mild. Very easy drinking, and fitting for the nice weather, but expected a little more from this one. Not bad. I’d drink it again. Update: I did drink again. Much better experience on draft at the collective. Pretty good.
3.1 Pours pale gold with a white frothy head; biscuit and honey aromas; very dry palate with a coarse mouth feel. Lacks flavor.
3.2 This light yellow beer has a spectacular honey citrus aroma. It has a mild wheat flavor with a subtle spice.
3.2 12oz can picked up at the state store Pours clear light golden with a small white head that dissipates quickly, light lacing. Aroma cereal, honey, grains and sweet. Taste is bready, cereal, grainy and honey OK, but a tad sweet for me to be refreshing on a hot day.
3.3 Perfect summer beer, light, tasty and refreshing. Small head, but sticky lacing. Light cereal aroma, ostly cereal taste, abrupt finish with a tinge oh hop bitterness
2.9 Pours transparent gold. White head that dissipates slowly and leaves decent lacing. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy. Low carbonation. Taste is biscuit malt, honey, faint citrus. Finishes slightly dry and a touch sour. Decent summer beer.
2.9 bottle. Golden with small head. Lightly sweet with honey, not much in the way of malt or hops. OK, but nothing more than that.
