Bitburger / Sierra Nevada Triple Hop'd Lager

Bitburger / Sierra Nevada Triple Hop'd Lager

Nice collab work.

3.2 Tastes pretty good but a little heavy and sticky. I'm not mad about it tho.
3.5 11.2 ounce can from Tadych's Iron Mountain, 10/22/20. Hazy orange, thin foamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of orange, mango, pale malt. Taste is leafy hops, mango, tangerine. Medium bodied, crisp, mild bitterness.
3.5 Pours a hazy slightly burnt yellow with a full slight off white head that laces. Nose is sweet malt with a touch of floral. Body is medium light. Taste is sweet malt with slight citrus. The hop bitterness is slight but lingers in the aftertaste. 11.2 oz (hate these European fills) canned on 1/28/20 BBY 1/27/21
3.2 Can from Beyond Beer. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, fruity and light hoppy - grass. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. 201020
4.0 Can. Pours lightly hazy orange with a large, creamy and thick off-white head, long retention. Medium-high herbal, grassy, and floral hops, medium hop bitterness, very fresh, medium sweet bread malt, and a dry finish. Medium-light body and moderate carbonation.
3.6 Floral aroma, slight herbal. Color is golden brown, cloudy appearance, likely hop material. Body is thick for lager, breast. Flavor is lemon and bubblegum start with malty finish. Bubbly finish.
3.8 Can - hazy light orange with a sizable head - it’s amazing how much this tastes like a straight up Sierra Nevada beer - it tastes like I’m drinking the lager version of Celebration Ale - this, of course, is not a bad thing, but I think my hope coming in was to taste equal influences from both brewers, as Bitburger Pils is one of my go-to in the style - it’s wonderfully dry and crisp, and the body is round and soft - a more American hop character makes way for what seems like more of a noble hop character that is herbal, grassy, and spicy - it’s a darn good IPL, but not quite up to what my expectations were when first hearing about this collaboration.
3.6 0,33l can from Interspar. Hazy orange body. Big white head vanishing fairly quickly, leaving persistent lacing. Moderate and balanced fruity aroma (grapefruit) with a hint of yeast. Mild fruity taste with bit of malt and with a persistent mild bittersweet aftertaste. Moderate carbonation. Fairly smooth and silky palate, especially for a lager. Altogether a nice IPL that manages to harmonically combine New World hops with a dry German lager. The result is actually quite close to a session IPA.
3.3 Appearance is amber with a half-finger solid head. Aroma is caramel malt, bit of hops, pithy fruit, bit of orange peel. Taste is creamy malt, wheat, cereal malt, underlying hop bitterness, bitter finish. Solid lager.
3.2 Clear gold pour with a big white head and some lacing. Grainy malt aroma with a bit of hops. The flavor is of grainy mild, crisp, mild hops bitterness, and some citrus character. It's nothing great but it's alright.
4.3 Purchased a six pack of cans from an Aldi's. Average white head atop a kinda hazy golden body. There's a smoke scent to this beer and a hint of woodland hops. There is that burning taste from the Hops like ipas have but it's actually tolerable in mild by comparison so maybe it's not the excessive hops in the IPA don't like
3.5 330ml Dose. Klar und dunkelgolden mit mittelgroßer Schaumkrone. Hopfig. Trocken im Antrunk. Milder Abgang.
3.5 Aroma; leafy herbal hops, pilsnerish malts, peely fruit. Look; fawn resistant head on near clear deep golden body. 3.3 Can poured a golden orange into a Nitro Project bubble pint glass. Lasting foamy head due to the above average carbonation release in the form of tiny bubbles. Sweet malt aroma with some hop. Medium body with more sweetness. Lingering hop and filling finish.
3.0 11.2 oz can. Smells a bit sweet, with a very very faint hint of citrus. Orange in color and hazy. Taste is sweet mixed with a bit of bitter. Was hoping for more hops, might be due to age, canned on 1/28/20. Finish is a bit sweet with a very mild bitter kick. OPK, but I really didn't get the kick I was expecting from Chinook, Centennial, and Cascade.
3.4 Not a bad lager, although I do feel a tad skeptical of a triple-hopped beer saying it's good for a year. This can was produced in January; I'm wondering what it's lost in the seven-plus months since it left the line. As it is, it runs a little sweet, with subtle corn and grain notes underlined by apple and lemon, with some orange and pine coming from the Centennials and more gentle floral hop notes in the fade. Not bad, but not a classic, either.
3.8 Light amber with medium white head. Slight hoppy aroma. Strong hoppy bitterness with sweet lager style malty touch. Lasting bitter aftertaste.
3.1 From a can with a BB date of 1/27/2021. Light amber-orange pour with foamy whit head. Floral and grassy hop notes on the nose with a little white bread. The mouthfeel is light to medium. The taste is sweet with a floral bite at the end. It really did not stand out much for me.
3.5 Pint at Winking Lizard Reynoldsburg on 8/5/20. Clear gold pour with a thick white head. Aroma of malt, grassy hop and lager yeast. Malt and citrus flavor with pear and grass accents before a crisp lager finish.
3.6 Can stamped 2021 01 27 2020 01 28 08:33 So, at nearly 8 months from canning, getting a bit long in the tooth for a hoppy beer. But, given my COVID19-influenced buying habits, I just noticed it on the online ordering form for one of the liquor stores I frequent. IDK when it (finally) arrived in MN. My guess would be within the last month or so. But, not having personally browsed the shelves since March, it may have been sooner. Mild aroma, citrusy aroma, lemon, floral and grass. Tall white head atop a clear yellow-gold beer with a slight chill haze and moderate rising bubbles. Head retention is OK (recedes within 4-5 minutes) with spotty lacing. Taste is quite hoppy, both in flavor and in bitterness. The initial flavors are lemon and floral, nicely balanced by somewhat bready malts. The hops and malts flavors carry through into the finish and aftertaste. The bitterness builds in the middle and grows from there, resulting in a fairly bitter aftertaste. Feel is smooth, slightly effervescent, with a moderate body. Overall, a nice drinking, nicely hoppy lager. Quite bitter (for a German lager). I enjoyed it. Too bad Bitburger's wide-area distribution has been so dragged out.
3.4 Crisp, golden and peach coloured body with a nice, two to three centimetre tall just off-white head that fades fairly slowly. Aroma of light lager yeast, some fresh cut grass, a dose of flowers and biscuits with a soft sweetness from caster sugar and more of the lager yeast. Light-bodied; Very fresh hop flavours show at first that show some floral notes, a good amount of fresh cut grass, some very subdued herbal notes and a lot more of the biscuity and grain notes from the malt and yeast than anything else, that ends with some bready flavours and a good touch of crisp, fresh flavours. Aftertaste shows the very pungent and dominant aspects of a lager from the crisp grain to the pungent yeasts, the light astringency, the flowers and most notably - the crisp, biscuity yeast strain that doesn't show much variance - quite strong and very strong in this one. Overall, a nice, fresh hopped lager that has it's origins in Germany, but taking advantage of American - quite nice and respectable throughout, even for those not keen on the purity law, this was a nice option in the land of 'overdoing' everything - a step back in time, if you will. I sampled this 33 cL can, purchased from Whole Foods in Arlington (Clarendon), Virginia on 06-May-2020 for US$2,09 sampled at my house here in Washington on 23-August-2020.
