3.8 Draft. Banana, orange, clove, wheat malt, and light straw aroma. Cloudy golden yellow with small head. Moderately sweet banana, orange, clove, wheat malt, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Good body. A very solid Hefe.
3.6 Taster at BJs. Soft golden with white head. Nice wheat and banana notes. Smooth balanced finish... Very nice.
3.6 Draft at BJs in Kissimmee. Nice banana hefe, smooth and tasty with plenty of body. Very good example of the style.
3.0 Draught at the brewery in Sunvalley shopping mall. Tiny off white head. Big banana aroma. The banana also dominate the taste. Sweet wheat malty taste. Medium body.
3.2 Draft pour. The beer is a moderately hazy gold with a white head of foam. Sweet and fruity aroma. Some moderate spice. Tastes sweet. More fruity than I typically think of for a hefeweizen. Medium body. Moderate carbonation.
3.2 A nice light weizen. straw color and a soft head. Aroma of citrus, raisins. Some banana and cloce notes too. Light fizzy palate. Decent beer but probably would have enjoyed it more on a warm Socal day instead of one of LAs "May Grey" weeks.
3.3 4-5 oz pour on draft at BJ’s (Gainesville, VA location) with a Mustang Sally yelling DCLawyer. Hazy straw yellow with off-white head. Aromas of banana and herbs. Tastes of banana, herbs, yeast, spices. Medium-light body with a dry finish.
3.2 Cloudy golden pour, thin white head with little to no lacing. Aroma is banana, and yeast. The taste is dominated by fresh banana, cloves, and some bubblegum. Tangy citrus on the finish. Not bad but has a somewhat fake taste to it.
3.5 Big fruity fresh banana nose portends the equally banana-forward wheat malty body of BJ’s here. Excellent hefe here modelling the classic flavor components of the style. Pours lightly hazy amber. Served a bit on the cold side but I ain’t complaining. This is a great hot weather quencher.
3.4 Sampled on draft at the Frederick MD location this beer poured a hazy dark golden color with a medium sized foamy white head that left good lacing. The aroma was phenol, citrus and yeasty. The flavor was sweet and bready with notes of citrus, phenol and honey. Medium length sweet honey finish. Moderately full bodied. Solid.
2.2 A watered down version an otherwise average Hefe. I could drink this by the bucket full mowing the lawn on a hot summer day.
3.6 Draught at BJ:s Restaurant and Brewhouse, Brea. Clear pale golden beer with a decent white head. Malty fruity banana aroma, caramel, grapes, citrus, some wheat. Malty caramel flavor, banana, esters, earthy, grapes, caramel, spicy, hay, some floral notes. Quite nice.
3.0 On tap at the brew house. Pours a hazy golden color with a bit of head. Mild banana.
3.5 Draft. Orange gold with a small white head. Fruity aroma with a banana and spice flavor.
2.9 Draft in a flight at the local brewpub. Pours a cloudy yellow gold - looks like the Blonde and Light, really - with a small white head that settles into a lasting ring and film with some trailing lace. Everything is light here - banana, clove, hay, wheat, and white peach. Light-bodied, with a dry, estery mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Easy enough to drink, but toward the weaker side of the hefe spectrum.
2.7 Had at their brewpub in San Antonio. A bit soft and light. Thin and watery.
1.7 A little bit bitter. Not very impressed ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
2.6 [2/21/15] Draught at BJ’s Mission Valley in San Diego. Cloudy yellow. Aroma of yeast, bread, banana and some phenolic spiciness. Sweetish flavor, wheaty, grainy, yeasty, with fruit esters and a spicy note. Light-bodied, strong carbonation.
3.4 (tap) cloudy pale yellow colour with a small white head; aroma of lilies; balanced, authentic flavour, refreshing, though the finish is a bit funky and strange
3.4 On tap. Cloudy straw color with very little head. Aromas of clove, banana and citrus. Flavors are mild citrus, spice and lemon peel; a bit of pepper. Nice tangy, yeasty character. Not bad.
2.8 Keg at BJs, Gainesville, VA. Slightly hazy yellow with a thin creamy white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of clove, pineapple, wheat. The taste is wheat, spice, citrus. Thin bodied.
3.2 MIld lemon flavor. Hazy golden, medium head. Banana, lemon, and coriander. Astringent, light body. Good flavor and balance, but doesn’t wow.
3.1 "a pretty good wheat. within it’s style, probably one of BJs better offerings. Fragrant and fruity, with a banana clove prescence along with thw wheat. Not bad..."
3.1 Poured from the tap at BJ’s. Has a hazy yellow color with a small head. Aroma of bananas and some citrus. Smooth taste with some wheat and some citrus.
3.0 Tap. Cloudy yellow white pour. Citrus, wheat. Banana, wheat, fruit and citrus. Light to medium body. Easy to drink but not a lot of flavir or spice
3.0 BJ’s Harvest Hefeweizen is good in its own right, but not what one expects from a traditional Hefeweizen. Low aroma with none of the expected spiciness. Head is white and frothy on top of a yellow, cloudy pour. Taste has no clove and banana notes usually present in this style, but has a citrusy character. Harvest Hefeweizen is good but not as expected in this style.
2.9 Decent German wheat. Aroma was of faint wheat and clove. Cloudy yellow color with a white foamy head. I liked the palate as it had some weight and was creamy. Flavors were well-blended of wheat, citrus, clove and maybe banana. Somewhat refreshing.
3.1 Draft. Cloudy pee colored beer. Very fruity hefe with lots of lemon and banana. Medium body, not overly carbonated.
3.1 On tap 5 oz. sample at BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse in Vienna (Tyson's Corner), VA. Lightly hazy, pale straw-yellow with an off-white head and good lacing. Aroma of banana, lemon, wheat, yeast and cloves. Taste of banana, cloves, wheat, yeast and citric hops. All the usual hefeweizen flavors are there, but are not quite as robust as many better hefeweizens. Light/medium body and medium carbonation.
1.8 On tap at the Vienna, Virgina location. Golden amber color, hazy throughout. Very thin head leaves virtually no lacing. Taste dominated by bubblegum, cloves, and banana syrup like the aroma it is very weak and watery. Palate is acidic and highly carbonated. Tangy citrus on the finish. A horible example of style, and another ice parlor flavored beer. Too many beers made and none perfected.
