3.3Bright and hoppy with a peppery piney hop bite. The hops coalesce in the finish in a spritzy stinging wash. Mild caramel malt base. Not a lot of citrus. More east coast and earthy. Very good.
3.7On tap at the south Reno location. A clear light amber with an off-white head. Nicely balanced with fruity spice and earthy pine notes. Light malty sweetness. Clean bittersweet finish. Very tasty. Also picked up a six-pack of cans brewed and canned in Temple, Texas.
2.4I can’t believe this has an IBU of anywhere near what is stated. This is a light, crisp ale but nowhere near an IPA. Still, it’s better than Bud or Miller.
3.0Rated on 4-22-2017 at BJ’s in Fort Wayne, IN. The appearance of this draft beer is a small cream colored head that is fully lasting throughout my rating, transparent golden body, very little carbonation observed, and a good amount of lacing adorns the glass. The aroma is citrus hops, bitter, grass, and earthy. The flavor presents light-medium bitterness, citrus hops, earthy, and malt. The mouthfeel is moderate carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. This beer has a bitter finish/aftertaste. It is nothing special for the style and it is the best beer of my beer flight.
2.4This draft brew from a restaurant was served at a cool temperature and poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized very off-white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a very softly carbonated body transparent light orange brown colored body and a good lacing. The weak aroma was malt hop. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a medium hoppy aftertaste. The strange flavor contained notes of deep hops. Not one that I would likely drink again.
3.5Draught at BJ’s Clearwater location, on January 30, 2017.
Clear golden color, off-white head with lacing. Hoppy, citrus, caramel, some pith taste. Citrus, fruity aftertaste. Medium to fizzy mouthfeel, medium bitterness. Lemon, citrus, caramel scent.
3.5On tap BJ’s, JAX. Potent tangy peach aroma. Crystal clear copper under a lacy off-white cover. Sweet malty flavour with lots of stone fruit and a decent bitterness to balance the sweetness. Secrets of lychee fruit and red cherries. Medium body, medium carbonation, crisp.
3.5From tap at BJ's in Tallahassee. Rich gold color with thin white foam head. Nose is slight but classic IPA. Taste is citrus/grapefruit and some bitter hops on finish. Solid.
3.0Fairly bitter and a good IPA, but overall nothing particularly special about it.
3.3Dark copper amber in color with a foamy off white head. A bit of nutty malt and earthy flavor leading to a mildly bitter and hoppy finish.
3.4Tap at Charlottesville location. Aroma is an orange creamsicle. Gold pour. Flavor is orange peel, blact tea. Slightly bitter. The first beer that doesn’t feel watered down at all.
3.0On tap @ BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse McCandless, PA. Pours a clear straw yellow with a thin white ring. Light citrus aroma. Mostly bitter citrus peel taste. Slightly harsh. Not very good and nothing special.
3.4On tap at BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse (Short Pump, VA). Citrusy aromas, herbaceous, grassy. Clear orange with a mostly lasting white head. Dry, zesty. Light-medium bodied.
3.4Dark orange draft pour at BJs in Salinas. Malty and hoppy flavor. Pine and citrus. Not bad
3.64-5 oz pour on draft at BJ’s (Gainesville, VA location) with a Mustang Sally yelling DCLawyer. Clear golden orange with off-white head. Aromas of citrus, floral notes, pine. Tastes of citrus, tropical fruit, floral notes, light pine. Medium body with a dry finish.
3.6On draught. Dry, hoppy and good. Flavoursome, but I’m not sure its one for a session.
3.0Sampled on draft at the Frederick MD location this beer poured a hazy dark golden-peach color with a huge foamy white head that left excellent lacing. The aroma was tart with lemon and grapefruit elements. The flavor was tobacco, sour caramel, grapefruit and cactus. Long finish. Medium body. Ok.
2.4No "hop storm" here...just a beer that might be considered average if you were dying of thirst. No need to bother with this one again.
2.6Draft. Mildly hoppy but with a real off-putting soapy/chemical taste. Bad sample or just not good.
3.5Draught at BJ:s Restaurant and Brewhouse, Brea. Clear golden beer with a nice lasting offwhite/yellowish head. Fruity hop aroma, grassy, peach, pine, some caramel. Hoppy grape and pine flavor, peach, grassy bitterness, oranges, caramel, someone apples. Quite ok.
3.6On tap in Kentucky. Pours golden Amber, major haze, think off white head that is silly. Minimal nose. Taste is massive tropical... Pineapple, oranges, mango. Slight bitterness. Light body.
3.7Draft It poured a cloudy orange with a white head. Aroma was hoppy with flavors of grapefruit and pine. Very good.
2.7On tap at San Bruno location. Aromas of bread, decaying pine needles and slight molasses. Poured mostly clear orange with white head. Taste was assertive chewy bread malt. Faint orange and dirty forest floor. Mouthfeel was a cloying - surprisingly so for the ABV. A disappointment after enjoying the Oktoberfest.
2.7Draft served in a flight at the local brewpub. Pours a somewhat cloudy gold with an off-white head that leaves a sheet of lace and a spotty film behind. Sweet and malty and grainy. Orange, macaroon, grass, and florals provide some balance, but it’s all over the place. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation. The mouthfeel starts muddled, gets too sweet in the middle, and finishes with a bit of bitterness. After some good pale ales, this one is a total mess. Maybe six hops are too many.
3.3Draft... Pours clear and amber with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. The aromatic standouts are piney resin and floral blossoms. Medium-bodied with zippy carbonation. The flavor is pleasantly bitter and tongue-numbing. Earthy and spicy hops in this east coast-style IPA. Finishes moderately bitter, slightly raspy and dry.
3.5Growler from Brewhub. Pours a deep clear gold. Piney earthy citrus hop aroma. Smooth clean malt with light sweetness and clean citrus hop bite. Tasty.
3.5Taster in Florence - citrus nose. Sip adds resin. Strong hop flavors and taste. Aggressive. Light body. Long bitter finish.
3.3Light retention and light lacing. Smells of citrus, orange and pineapple. Tastes of orange peel, lemon and dry hops. Semi-bitter aftertaste.
3.021st May 2015: BJ’s Laguna Hills outlet. Part of an eight glass flight. Amber body, thin wispy head. Bold hop front to both the nose and taste: not as bitter as the aroma suggests: mild spice and fruity flavour with a slight citrus bite in the finish: decent.
3.4By the craft book beer. Dark amber. Foamy. Hop scent. Hop flavour. Better with food, pizza tonight.
