BJ's Jeremiah Red

BJ's Jeremiah Red

An Irish-style red ale with the strength of an English strong ale. Full-bodied, malty and alcoholic. Not too hoppy in order to emphasize the complex malt flavor and fruity aroma. The ruby red color hints at its rich caramel maltiness.

2.9 Clear red brown, tanned lacing foam head. Sweet barley aroma and similar taste. Bit too sweet. OK though. (Houston 201705)
3.0 Tap at BJ’s, Austin. Clear amber color, small beige head. Aroma has caramalt and is a bit sweet perfumic. Medium-bodied. Caramelly, berryish, low bitterness. Sweet. Not interesting brew but goes with food.
3.5 Draught at BJ’s Clearwater location, on January 30, 2017. Slight hazy amber color, lasting off-white to yellow head. Estery, banana, malty, sweet taste. Sweet, estery aftertaste, also cream. Medium to fizzy mouthfeel, medium bitterness. Malty, sweet, crackers scent.
3.5 On tap at Orlando. A very restrained version of the style with very mild spice flavour and hop profile making this a very drinkable beer.
2.7 A little malty with a touch of bitterness. Overall pretty solid, but with some alcohol taste.
2.5 Tap at Charlottesville location. Pours amber. Taste is glue, funk, more glue, citrus peel, more glue. Blah.
3.0 On tap @ BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse. Pours a clear reddish brown with a thin white ring. Very faint aroma. Thin body. Slightly harsh and bitter. Not very enjoyable. Nothing special.
3.3 Draft. Amber color with a quickly dissipating head that leave a fair amount of lace. Malty aroma with caramel and biscuit notes.
3.0 Beautiful white flesh head, slight taste of shanty underpants, appears long and thick with girth, the aroma was that of baked fromunda cheese, the palate was unbelievably smooth yet ridged, overall, orgasmic.
2.9 Draft in a flight at BJ’s-Florence. Pours a clear orange color with a small off-white head that settles into an island of film, ring around the glass, and some lace. It’s like the Oasis, but with a bigger malt character - caramel and sweet malts, leaves, grass, sugars, and a hint of metallic notes. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a malty, earthy mouthfeel. Again, like the Oasis, bland and forgettable.
3.2 Can sample. Clear amber color, light tan head. Aroma of toasted biscuit. Taste is caramel and cookie dough. Decent.
3.1 Draft pour. The beer is a hazed copper with a white head of foam. The aroma is faint and hard to detect. I get some doughy nuances and subtle grassy notes in the taste. Subtle sweetness. Medium body and medium to high carbonation.
3.5 4-5 oz pour on draft at BJ’s (Gainesville, VA location) with a Mustang Sally yelling DCLawyer. Clear golden amber with off-white head. Aromas of citrus, malt. Tastes of citrus, floral notes, malt, stone fruit. Medium-light body with a dry finish.
3.2 Pours a clear reddish amber color, with a thin white head. The aroma is slight sweet, caramel, vanilla, and toasty malt. The flavor is caramel and minimal toasted malt. You can feel the alcohol burn. Medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation and a slightly sticky finish.
3.2 A middling clean malty red. Pours pretty gingerhead with a slight ring of white head. Very clean with forward caramel malts. Hides its ample alcohol well, with the fuel hitting the engine long after the swallow, evidenced by a welling warmness after a few swigs. Well done.
2.7 Sampled on draft at the Frederick MD location this beer poured a red-caramel color with a medium sized creamy yellow-white head that left excellent lacing. The aroma was faintly malty with a bit of caramel. The flavor was toasty malts, a hint of tobacco, caramel and a bit of vague fruit. Medium length finish. Medium body. Meh.
3.9 A very well-balanced red if you are not a fan of hops or malts. A dry Irish red that accompanies food very well.
3.4 A nice "red" to chill out on. I’ve had both, tap and bottled and they’re pretty much the same with a lovely, rust color and a refreshing flavor.
3.2 Big full bodied malty red ale with rich hints of caramel and toast. But the booze really comes through on the finish and they just need to dial it back a bit and let the malts shine through.
3.0 On tap at the Fort Collins location. Dark orange to amber and clear in appearance with a diminishing white head. Mild aroma of fruity esters, toasted grain, caramel malt, and light toffee. Similar flavor, moderately sweet and lightly bitter with a medium plus body. OK.
3.4 Had this with a brewhouse burger at BJ’s. The first few sips were creamy caramel and smooth. The alcohol starting coming out about halfway down. Pleasant level of carbonation. I really enjoyed this with my meal after a week of hard work, but there was nothing extraordinary.
3.2 Draft at the Frederick, MD restaurant, clear deep reddish-copper color with off-white head. Aroma notes of caramel malt sweetness and mixed fruitiness. Taste adds toffee, berries, dried fruits and faint spices. Medium body, moderate-low carbonation, soft with sweet fruity caramel finish. It’s malty and fruity, not sure about complex.
3.2 21st May 2015: BJ’s Laguna Hills outlet. Part of an eight glass flight. Copper body with a full white crown on top. Malty and semi-sweet with a fruity feel to the taste. Mild caramel notes mingle with the light hop content to hide the alcohol level nicely: decent.
3.1 I ASKED THE BARTENDER FOR ALL LITTLE TESTERS OF THEY’RE BEERS HAHAA! THIS WAS THE BEST ONE BEERS. IT REMINDS ME MY COUSIN HOMEBREW WHO MASE ONE TIME THIS PILLSNER HE ASKICEDNTELLY BOIL SO LONG AND MADE A MESS BUT HE HAD ROSEMARY AND MILK SHUGER INTO ITS. I THOUT IT WOULD BE AWWFUL BUT IT TURNED OUT GOOD. I KEEP TELLELING HIM TO MAKE A PLINY BUT HE IS AFRAID TO DO IT. I THINK HE MITE HAVE A POINT AS THE CROW FLYS. SO THIS RED ALE AT BJS (AHHHHH EH EH EH EH EH!) IT IS SMOOTH TASTE LIKE SPICES AND SWEET AND FRUITS. NOT TO TERRBLE.IT WAS GOOD TO HAVE IT WHILE I WATCHED AMERICAN IDEL.
2.9 (tap) clear reddish amber colour with a small tan head; faint aroma of stewed fruit; smooth, balanced flavour with short finish
2.7 Keg at BJs, Gainesville, VA. Clear copper with a thin fizzy white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of toffee and stone fruits. The taste is tart fruits and toffee. Thin-medium bodied.
2.4 Little aroma, maybe malt. Clear orange, headless. Malt lightly sweet, orange hints. Medium body. Mundane red, but with a surprising hop kiss.
3.2 a very good example of the irish red style. malty and nutty sweet, with just the right amount of hops to balance. not my favorite style, but this is a good one."
3.5 On tap at BJ’s. Aroma is malted fruit Flavor is sweet caramelized hops. Quite better than anticipated. Balance with the malts like a better than average Irish Red should be. Surprised by this brew. Pretty good.
2.8 Draft at BJ’s Tysons Corner. Pours reddish brown with a thin, foamy tan head and creamy lacing. Smells like sweet caramel, chocolate malt, and floral hops. Tastes like sweet caramel, chocolate, malt, and syrup with a bitter finish. Light/medium body and low carbonation.
