Nutty Brewnette is a unique American-style brown ale. A blend of four different dark malts produces a flavor profile that is sweet with "nutty" notes like Newcastle. But a healthy dose of hops makes this beer hoppier and more balanced than most English brown ales.

3.8Draft in a flight at BJ’s in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. Probably a lot better than the low ratings indicate, and was really pretty good, especiallypaired with the All Night Burger. The label is nicely done.
2.9Draft in a flight at BJ’s-Florence. Pours a cloudy burnt orange with a lasting off-white cap for a head that also laces the glass. It’s like a toastier amber, so it’s a lot like Oasis or Jeremiah. Sweet and toasty malts, caramel, sugars, and some general earthy and metallic notes. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a toasty, nutty mouthfeel. Below average example of the style.
3.0Reddish-caramel. Clean sweet nose. Strong nutty/sweet flavor throughout, fades quickly. A little thin/watery, could user more body.
3.04-5 oz pour on draft at BJ’s (Gainesville, VA location) with a Mustang Sally yelling DCLawyer. Clear dark amber with off-white head. Aromas of caramel, cocoa, roasty notes, toasty notes. Tastes of caramel, toffee, light butter. Medium-light body with a dry finish.

3.5On tap in Melbourne, FL.
Dark red-amber body has excellent clarity and is topped by very nice, creamy tan head.
very malty with just enough hops to keep the bitter-sweet balance about even. There are some toffee and brown bread flavors as well. Medium carbonation in a medium body.
3.221st May 2015: BJ’s Laguna Hills outlet. Part of an eight glass flight. Autumnal red body with a thin white covering for a head. Malty, nutty and semi-sweet in nature. OK brew that does not test your senses to greatly, but has a pleasant aroma and taste. My sweet tooth liked it.

2.5"a little thin and not as hoppy as the brewer states. not bad, but nothing exciting. i’d put it as a similar beer to Newcastle...maybe slightly better, but not worth the price."
3.4BJ’s Nutty Brewnette is not the most traditional but is a nice session brown. Darker brown pour emitting a light floral nose. Taste is kind of floral and lighter than most browns with not a lot of malt forward. Nutty Brewnette is a nice session ale but not real traditional or too creative.
2.9Draft at BJ’s Tysons Corner. Pours dark brown with a thin, fizzy light brown head. Smells like caramel, nutty, bready malt, light hops, herbs, some doughy yeast with light honey. Moderate sweetness with light acidity and bitterness. Medium body and low carbonation. Creamy finish.
3.3Tap. Clear brown pour. Nuts, bread and caramel. Raisin, caramel in a medium slightly oily body. Nice
3.0This poured a lighter brown with an off white head. Aroma was nuts, and toast and caramel. Flavor was the same, decent for the style really.
3.6On tap at BJ’s. Clear light brown pour with an off white head. Big nutty notes with earth and malt highlights. Good body and mouthfeel.
3.4On tap at BJ’s in Fort Collins
Appearance: pours a creamy off white head that slowly recedes with good amount of lacing. Color is a mostly clear light brown.
Aroma: toasted barley malt, toffee, some citrus and earthy herbal hops, yeasty bread.
Mouthfeel: medium body and somewhat oily, average carbonation and somewhat bitter drying finish.
Flavor: bready malts dominate, with some toffee and raisin. This is balanced with a notable earthy herbal and citrus rind hop bitterness.
Overall: a decent and enjoyable beer, appropriate to the style.
2.9Decent brown ale with plenty of flavor. Roasted and nutty aromas. Medium brown color with a thin head. Medium to light palate with good carbonation. Nothing overly exciting. Light toffee, roasted malt and nut notes blend well with a small hops presence. Like most of their beers, easy to drink.
2.7Aroma is light caramel. Flavor is light nut with a caramel backbone. Finishes smooth with mild nut and caramel notes.
3.1Draft at their restaurant in Frederick, MD. Served in a footed pilsner glass, clear brown color with light tan head. Aroma of caramel malt sweetness, some nuttiness and faint chocolate. Taste is pretty much the aroma with some hop bitterness. Light body, moderate carbonation, crisp, soft with clean finish. Uneventful but non-offensive.
3.0Draft. Clear medium brown light tan head. Sweet and nutty brown that is also a little syrupy. Some good points but limited.
