Black Market Rye IPA

Black Market Rye IPA

A golden/amber beer that showcases bold American hops with the extra flavor dimension of the use of rye malt as 20% of the malt bill. This is a shockingly balanced IPA, in the sense that we include just enough malt character to counter the otherwise intense bitterness typically found in an American IPA, making for an immensely pleasant experience for your palate.

3.8 Remarkably well balanced! Both on the nose, palate and in its flavor. The alcohol flavor is there, but like the fruitiness and caramel, you have to look for it. Typically this is the result of weak flavor... not here.
3.9 Keg at Brewdog Shepherds Bush, London. A hazy orange/amber coloured pour with a healthy white head on top. Hoppy, malty, rye aroma. Tastes hoppy, malty, rye, caramel, orange, slightly sweet. This lovely IPA went down far too easily, really nice fresh tasting IPA from Black Market Brewing, will certainly seek this one out again.

4.4 Copper, large head. Very nice multi grain, but a lot of hop too, must be loaded with it. Like! Good clean fermentation, lovely bitter. Very impressed by the expressive taste versus how amazingly drinkable it is. Yummy yummy! (33cl can from Saveur Bière)
3.4 0,355l can at home shared by Saeglopur, big thanks. no obvious BB date. orange hazy color, small white head. smells of resin, spices, a bit old hoppy, pines, ok smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of resin, pines, a bit old hoppy again, spices, lightly peppery, hints of exotic fruits, some grass & herbs. finishes medium bitter with notes of resin, pines and some grassy notes. okish, but rather old hoppy and heavy.
3.6 355 ml can from Beer Store Vienna. Amber, hazy body, with a big, creamy, lacing, slightly yellowish head. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, passion fruit, rye, some grapefruit, orange, biscuit. Taste follows this, with more sweet malt notes, like bubblegum and a bit vanilla. Medium, very creamy mouthfeel, with an average carbonation. Finishes bitter, medium dry, zesty, sweet, with rye, grapefruit. Nice one. Quite sweet, with the typical rye notes, but also with enough hoppy notes. Surprisingly creamy mouthfeel. Nothing oustanding overall, a classic rye IPA, but pleasant nonetheless.
3.6 Ámbar turbio y espuma marfil. Aromas de pomelo y pino. Cuerpo medio con sabor cítrico, mandarina y pino y fina de amargor medio, regusto resinoso.
3.8 12 oz can poured. No can date, but I know it’s not super fresh. Pours a hazy golden color with a rocky foam head. I feel like the hops win the aroma battle over the grain. Flavor is the other way around. Spicy malt, good hop quality. Moderate bitterness. Overall a pretty good imperial-ish Rye-PA. Unique, and very tasty.
