4.0 Rating #2191 - 2015.11.20 - Bottle from CBI Clear golden pour with a bubbly white foam, spotty lacing. Citrusy sweet, earthy hop notes on the nose.. Mouthfeel crisp, mild alcohol warmth, low-medium carbonation. Taste is sweet orangey notes, a grassy spicy bite, assertive bitterness. Pretty tasty.
4.1 Rich amber colour with light white head. Aroma is caramel and light pine which carries nicely into the flavour. The palate is nice and thickish... not too syrupy. Finishes nice with a little lingering bitter.
3.4 Bottle at RB London Meet. Clear amber color, small steady white head. Piney aroma. Medium-bodied. Fruity, piney, some citrus. Nicely balanced.
3.6 Bottle from LCBO. Clear amber body with a thin off-white head. Steady carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of floral hops, lime chutney and caramel. Flavour of orange peel, grass and a peppery finish. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Light fizz. Very hoppy but lacking definition.
3.9 Second bottle, from LCBO, first one was drunk by the towels off the floor, the lucky bastards. Anyhoo, now that I’ve had the pleasure of actually pouring it and not dropping it on the floor (while completely sober, I might add), it appears deep, almost coppery amber, clear, with rather thick creamy white head. The aroma is... indicating this one’s going to be a bitter hop bomb... Extremely resiny, oily, citrus peel, etc...Tastes mellower, yet still resiny, hop oils and citrus peel, but the loads of malts (as seen in the deep dark colour) really balance the hops nicely. The result is a bit desserty - massively sweet, biscuity, fruity, but also, as said, very citric and resiny... Basically that’s how I like my DIPA-s. And the alcohol is fairly well hidden. Soft and full on the palate with extremely fine carbonation not without a certain fizziness. A lovely brew. Admittedly not amongst the most refined or elegant DIPA-s but certainly very enjoyable.
3.7 Very bitter and hoppy. Dank fruit. Dark copper pour from 22oz bottle in Banff. Not bad. A big mouthful for sure
3.7 22 oz bottle; unknown date. Pours a clear amber with an off-white head. Light grassy and citrusy aroma. Flavor has a mix of spicy, citrus, and grassy hoppiness, even a little tropical fruit, over some biscuity malt. It’s pretty good, really.
4.1 Pours deep copper with a nice size off white head that laces the glass. Good aroma of hops, pine and citrus. Strong taste of hops with side notes toasted wheat and a citrus fruit bitterness. Great beer.
3.7 Draught at The Craft Brasserie. Rich citrus/tropical hop bouquet, mandarin, pineapple, biscuit, marmalade, bitter finish. Pretty smooth and enjoyable iipa, cheers to 10 years of hoppiness!
3.9 Pours a clear copper color with a large tan head. Nose is extremely piney with a bit of dark cherry fruit and a bit of brown sugar. Faint smell. Not much to it at all. But it’s still kind of intriguing. Dry on the mouth at start then you get a fruity sweet mouthfeel and you end up with dry pretty hoppy finish. Very pleasant taste. Medium to full body. Very good
4.7 Middle aged man just built a new house and put a beer tap in. Christened it with "10 bitter Years" from Black Oak. Heady stuff that bites, smooths out with a tangy twang and then mule kicks you in the arse. On my way for my 2nd 30 Litre container of communal comfort.
3.8 650 ml bottle. Pours a clear deep golden-pale amber with a resilient white head. Aroma is fruity (grapefruit, lemon, lime), pineapple, green tea and spices. Flavor is fruity, sweet (caramel), green tea. Finish is grapefruit, pineapple, soft lemon, spice, green tea. Slightly herbal flavors lingering. Light to medium body, soft mouthfeel and average carbonation.
4.2 Brought down from Toronto at the biggest LCBO ever. High in hops, high in alcohol, pretty easy to drink - this could get dangerous/interesting. Would definitely get again.
3.7 Super piney bitter bomb. Pours with a light carbonation, orangey yellow body and a thick, sticky white head that lasts forever. The nose is pine and tropical fruits with a heavy citrus zest and grapefruit aroma. Light caramel and toasty malts blend well with a pine heavy and resin laden hop. Beautiful lingering bitterness with a touch of malty sweetness.
3.7 650ml bottle pours a clear copper color with a finger and a half of white head that settles to leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is piny with some tropical fruits and mild caramel notes. Taste is a pine, citrus and earthy hop bitterness with a tropical fruity and light caramel malty sweetness. Light to medium bodied with some decent carbonation. Overall, this is a very well crafted DIPA, nice balance of hops and malt with bold flavours. Highly recommended for all those hop lovers out there.
3.4 Merci à Ju-Lo de m’avoir rapporté cette bouteille de la LCBO! Cheers man!
4.1 Poured from bottle. Strong aroma of citrus and a bit of grass. Pours a clear golden amber with frothy head. Heavy bitter taste. Full bodied with a sticky texture and bitter finish. Very nice imperial IPA.
3.8 Bottle shared at CBC CW during The Cad 10yr celebrations, London. Thanks to Anders for this one. It pours a rich deep golden color with a medium off-white head. Aroma is rich fruit pulp, orange peel, melon, skunk, grapefruit. Taste has big resinous and orange notes, light dank, citrus and grass. Light bitterness and medium sweetness. Overall, big bold and juicy
4.0 Deep copper color, creamy white head. Aroma has lots of pine with some citrus in the background. Some light bready malt. Cracker like malt flavor big piney hop profile. Booze is very well hidden.
3.3 Copper pour with a frothy white head. Fruity malt aroma. Malty flavour with a fruit hop background. Boozy IPA. Caramel finish with Syrup texture.
3.7 0.65 bottle. Clear, amber color and a large, off-white head which leaves a bit of lacing. Aroma of citruses, pine, blood orange, tea crackers, and tangerine. Taste is bitter, hoppy, piney, with noticeable blood orange and tangerine. Medium body, creamy texture, and soft carbonation. Finish does not surprise, tangerine again, though it is not to say that it disappoints. Overall quite a good beer; the unusually strong taste of tangerine works as a sort of gimmick. Frankly speaking I have never felt such a strong and clear flavor of one particular citrus.
4.0 Bottle in Toronto. Darker, rich orange, creamy off white head. Tart, rich dense hops. Lots of pine, earthy cedar, tangerine. Rich beer, kind of a red malt body, but lovely earthy pine hops. Very tasty, interesting beer. Loved it.
3.6 Bouteille 660ml, gracieuseté de msjpearson, Thanks Mike! Couleur orange brûlé légèrement voilée, mousse beige foncé laissant une belle dentelle. Arôme de houblon résineux, conifère, parfum, malt, alcool. Goût de houblon résineux, conifère, amertume élevée, malt caramélisé. Carbonatation faible, corps moyen-dense.
3.5 Bottle shared at The Cad’s 10 year get together. Thanks to Anders. 29/03/2015. Semi clear golden / orange coloured pour with a loose white head. Aroma is spicy orange, little dank hop, tangerine. Flavour is composed of tea leaves, dank hop, light biscuity malts, and a hint of caramel. Palate is semi sweet, moderate carbonation. Solid. Lingering orange.
3.6 From bomber. Pours a hazy orange/amber with a lasting white head. Fruity nose with pine and floral hop notes. Grapefruit is predominant, but a bit of mango (?) is also noticeable. A bit astringent in the finish.
3.3 Bottle shared at the Cad’s 10th Anniversary Tasting - CBC Clerkenwell, London. Thanks to Anders. Pours clear, rich gold with frothy white head. The nose holds some rindy citrus, pale bread, crackers, grain. Medium sweet flavor with more crackery pale malts, pine needles, rindy orange. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation.
