2.5 Lemon and orange scents along with grass and mild grapefruit. Very clear deep yellow color. Doesn’t really seem like a wheat. Thin bodied. The flavors come across as artificial. Very sweet. Finish leaves you with a hint of biscuit or bready flavors. Okay brew could use some tweaking.
1.5 Bottle. I needed these Blue moons for the ratings. EH. thin , watery , barely a wheat beer.
2.2 Golden pour, white head. Aroma holds lemon, orange, other citrus, wheat, Flavor holds a touch of caramel, orange peel, and grain. Light body. okay beer
2.2 12 oz bottle Aroma: skunk that rolled in some orange/lime mix. The bitter taste overpowers completely the silk/smooth of normal wear beer. Too floral, bitter and still leave an alcohol flavour going through. It’s too insipid. Maybe too girly? Not sure, what’s with it, but I did not enjoy too much, I did not finish the bottle.
2.5 Bottled. Poured clear, bright golden with a dense, well-retained white head. The aroma picked up fresh, clean wheat with light accents of orange peel.. not much of interest going on. The flavor found honey and corn at the core, with grassy notes and lightly tangy wheat around.. finished with more adjuncty sweetness and wheat. Light-medium bodied and well-carbonated on the palate.. creamy feel.. good feel, but just a bit too sweet for me.
1.6 Very bland and uninteresting. Rather flat with little to no head. Medium gold color. Kind of a skunky back end. Not a very good tasting beer at all.
2.7 A step up from their flagship beer but wouldn't compete with most wheat beers. Decent for the price. Cheers! -tabednar
2.0 ...bottle. Thin, watery, only slight wheat or citrus notes in there. Not undrinkable, but not good either.
2.3 12oz bottle from the local grocery store Appearance: Clear golden with a small white head and light lacing, lots of carbonation Aroma: Wheat and citrus Taste: Stale malts, wheat, lemon, salty and sweet Ok, but I wouldn’t have another.
3.2 Bottle. I expected a lot more from this beer, I have to say. No aroma to speak of. Golden hue which is surprisingly clear and minimal head, if any, which disappears almost instantly. You get a hint of the lemon and orange but the citrus flavor is actually a bit underwhelming - again, I expected much better.
2.6 12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a medium sized fizzy white head. Poor head retention. Aroma of toasted wheat, spice, grain and citrus. The taste is sweet wheat, nutty notes, spice, citrus, toasted notes and raisin. Thin bodied.
3.0 12 ounce bottle, pours a cloudy yellow, aromas of wheat, citrus, and some clean sweet grain. Flavor is the same with some lemon/lime coming through. Not the worst Blue Moon I’ve had.
2.8 Bottle thanks to my friend Jamie: Pours a hazy yellow golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet grain, citrus, and wheat. Taste is very smooth with some lemon fruitiness, which seemed to be balanced by the wheat instead of sour as I would have expected.
2.1 Tap @ Schmick & McCormick’s Seafood Restaurant, Las Vegas 17/04/12. Pours a clear orange with a small, white head. Aroma is clove, lemon, some straw and slight rice. Taste is mostly straw and lemon with the rice hanging in the background. Palate is light. Doesn’t handle seafood well. Ended up feeling somewhat stuffy.
3.4 20.04.2012. 0,33l Bottle. Thanks to Per Anders. Malty aroma. Nice smooth beer with very nice malty flavours of malt and bitterness.
2.1 12oz bottle, thanks to my uncle George. Pours a clear yellow orange color, with some bubbles on the side of the glass. Thin white head that quickly fades to minimal. Stronger carbonation. More dry texture. Medium body. Very faint citrus peel aroma. Light bitter, somewhat zesty sweet taste. These Blue Moon wheat ale variants really do not interest me at all.
2.3 12oz bottle. Pours golden with small fizzy white head. Aroma is very faint, grain and citrus. Mildly sweet with just a touch of citrus flavor. Almost no finish whatsoever. Mediocre.
2.5 11 apr 2012, bottle. Light yellow, clear, some steady bubbles. Aroma is sickly sweet cheap caramel beer. Thin body and a bit syrupy. Lots of sickly sweet caramel and nothing else. Ugh.
1.2 This is a bad beer. I typically am okay with what Blue Moon has to offer, but this is their worst one. There is nothing good about this beer. I barely tastes like a wheat.
3.0 Blue Moon Spring Blonde Wheat Ale has a very thick, fluffy, slightly off-white head and a clear, yellow-golden appearance, with some bubbles and little-to-no lacing. The aroma is faint, but one can detect a touch of lemon zest and white bread. Taste is of white wheat bread, lemons, orange, and just a pin-prick of hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium and somewhat soft, and Blue Moon Spring Blonde Wheat Ale finishes refreshing, tasty, and easy drinking. Although neither wheat or flavored beers are for me, I think this one is pretty good. RJT
2.6 This is much more drinkable ice cold. That’s about all there is to say. Aroma is awful. Flavor is citrus, something a little fruity like peach, some wheat, some hops and something weird going on that tastes like soap. I’ve tasted quite a few blue moon and they’re usually pretty decent. Please do not try, whenever people in my store buy this I warn them.
2.9 3/8/12. tap at papago. Pretty much blond. No real head. A+F = cereal,lemon,lite skunk,wet,meh Not much...3-
2.6 Bottle. Golden color with a very thin white head. Grassy aroma with tones of citrus. Thin and watery texture with hints of coriander. Average carbonation. Nothing worth going out of your way for but still quite drinkable and refreshing if your in the mood for something light.
3.0 Bottle from Kroger. Light pour with a big white head. Aroma is sweet, citrus, and a little zest. Taste is nice, refreshing, and almost tastes like sugar cookies with a light, bitter, citrus finish.
2.7 Aroma is light lemon, color is pila orange honey. Taste is lager with hint of citrus. Kind of identifiable, but zest is there. Ring no lace, thin mouthfeel light refreshing low hops lows malt. Clear and refreshing. Better than the standard miller coots ect
1.8 Bottle. Aroma was light citrus, some wheat. Flavor was very weird: oddly alcoholic, too sweet. I’ll pass next time.
3.8 Very refreshing and drinkable. Not over powering but still has a nice flavor
2.1 Location: 12 oz bottle from Colonial Wine and Spirits, 3/27/12 Aroma: The aroma is pretty faint, with hints of wheat, malt and lemon Appearance: It pours a clear yellow-gold color with a small head and no lacing Flavor: The taste is more of the same, some lemon and wheat sweetness and little else Palate: The body is light, maybe a little watery, with a mediocre feel, and an unappealing aftertaste Overall Impression: I know I’m probably late to the party, but it is so very exciting that they decided to replace the old Spring Moon with a new spring seasonal (sarcasm alert). Did they do a better job? Not so much. This one is unoffensive, but mostly because it hardly exists at all.
3.0 A nice twist (lemon peel?) on the old Blue Moon recipe for the Spring season. Simple and easy to drink.
2.2 ~Slight tart sour wheat aroma with citrusy orange and lemon. Some spice. ~Pours very clear pale golden color with small lasting white head. ~Slightly sour wheaty flavor, minerally with light citrus. A bit bland. ~light crisp body, high CO2, very dry, dry quick finish. ~Really too dry to be a good thirst quencher. May go well with some spicy shrimp. A pretty boring brew.
