3.4 From a 12floz bottle that I paid the $1.50 equivalency price, 4.5% ABV, I don’t know freshness as there is none indicated on the bottle. I’ve had this before. Golden in appearance with a quickly settling head upon a rigorous pour. Natural and artificial blueberry muffin aroma is what I sense in the nose. I do find the aroma appealing, and the palate of blueberry essence cereal is fairly good as well. This is a flavorful light beer that exaggerates itself to be appropriate on occasion. I give a passing grade as I do like me some blueberry muffins - only sporadically, and especially so in beer.
2.8 355ml bottle at 4.5%. Pours light gold with a medium head. Aroma is blueberry bubblegum. Taste has some straw and corn. A little blueberry on the finish.
3.3 Not too fruity, could maybe do with a bit more blueberry flavour. Not one I would buy again, but pleasant to drink nonetheless
3.5 Pale golden with fizz, but just a ring of white. Aroma is certainly berry, not much else. Flavor is malty with a light berry flavor. Thin mouthfeel, over-carbonated, weird finish that’s unpleasant. Would not have this again.
3.0 These blueberries taste like blueberries. That’s a reference. Get it? Huh??
3.2 12oz Flasche. Goldgelb klares Bier, heller Schaum. Süsslicher Blaubeer Duft. Abtrunk herber. Gras und Blaubeeren. Bitterer Abgang. Nett.
3.2 Schon beim öffnen der Flasche kommt einem ein schöner Blaubeeren geruch entgegen leicht süß, im Geschmack erst leicht malzig und dann leichter hopfen recht beeriges Abgang, nicht so schlecht
3.5 Blind tasted with 6 other fruit beers. Beers were: 1. Small Town Not Your Moms Apple Pie, 2. Ballast Point Sea Rose, 3. Bofferding Fruitée, 4. Blue Point Blueberry Ale, 5. Small Town Not Your Moms Strawberry Rhubarb Pie, 6. Southern Tier Raspberry White, 7. Leinenkugels Watermelon Shandy. Rater 1 rated: 6471253, Rater 2 (ME) rated: 6475213, Rater 3 rated: 6471253. 355ml bottle. Gold/amber pour. Aroma is peachy, tropical, berry. Flavor is juicy fruity, good malt flavor, blueberry. Post tasting thoughts: This had some well-rounded fruitiness, blueberry muffin flavor. Dangerous InBev beer.
3.2 12 oz bottle pours golden with a white head. Aroma of blueberries and grass. Taste is blueberries, malts and some grass.
2.4 Strong tones of blueberry, bubble gum like. Pale golden color with not much head. Sweet up front. Odd mixture of berries and syrup. Bitterness is earthy and harsh. Somewhat balanced, but the bitterness wins out in the end a bit too much on the aftertaste. Watery mouth feel. Meh.
1.1 Bottle as a gift. The aroma is pure vomit, rotten cheese. Absolutely disgusting. Taste is an improvement, blueberry, some grain, bit less vomit, clean finish. But all in all some pretty grim stuff.
1.7 Bottle from Corks & Kegs, Richmond. Pours golden, small white head. Aroma of candied blueberry as soon as the cap was off. Up close aroma of fake blueberry and sweat - lots of nasty sweat. Flavor is cardboard, bread crust, vomit, dust, and faint blueberry. Not worth drinking.
2.3 Bottled. Pours pale yellow, white head. Aroma is pure blueberry muffin. Sweet, but kinda oxidized. May be older? Flavor is sweet blueberry, some pils malt, little bit of bitterness. Not bad. Better than I remember but what you’d expect. Nose is more than flavor.
3.2 Bottle. Clear pale yellow with very small frothy white head, blueberry aroma, medium carbonation, sweetish taste with blueberry flavor, thin body, abrupt finish with blueberry aftertaste. Not bad, though it doesn’t feel like beer.
2.5 Cerveza muy suave con muy poco amargor y aroma, tomable y es mejor que ninguna cerveza
2.6 APPEARANCE- medium-dark golden color, light head is gone quickly and the faintest lacing remains. NOSE- strong scent of blueberry while pouring. In the chilled glad, I don’t get so much scent to it. FLAVOR- very light ale without too much character. Not much blueberry flavors. Good news is that the light ale flavor doesn’t overpower the little blueberry flavor there is. I get a bit of blueberry aftertaste as well. NOTES- well balanced for a blueberry ale. I would prefer a little more ’beer’ flavor though.
2.0 Wow on aroma. Blueberry heaven. Poured out of a bottle. No head or lacing. Taste was a bit disappointing. Expecting alot more blueberry punch. Just a light beer with a blueberry flavor. Nothing more or less.
2.4 Pour is a clear yellow with a large white head. Aroma is blueberries nd nothing else. Flavor is has some blueberry flavoring and again nothing else malt or hop wise. Kind of a one trick watery pony with only some kind of blueberry additive showing.
2.4 The aroma is ok. The flavor is blueberry-like but thin and medicinal and overall not too enjoyable. It does have a nice bottle.
3.0 Draft at MOTR Pub at X______X concert on January 23, 2016. Attractive gold/amber color with very good clarity, blueberry nose that smelled a bit artificial, blueberry flavor upfront wasn’t bad but cheap grainy backround taste was. Too bad I never had any of this brewery’s beers before the AB InBev takeover because I sure as hell won’t try any more of them now. My numerical rating is lenient as it is. The only reason I got this was because the folks behind the bar seemed unsure about what the nonstandard Bells tap was, and the handle wasn’t readable.
2.9 Poured an amber color with a white head. Aroma was of blueberry, light caramel, and mild vomit. Flavor similar, I actually expected this to be even worse than it is. Not great, but not horribly offensive.
2.5 bottle @ Chief Market / Lima OH --- Clear golden amber color, white head that drops to a cover, strips and blobs of lace. Taste is carbonated malt that adds artificial blueberry as it moves to an inconspicuous finish. The malt is unassertive, the blueberry is minimal, and the hops are nearly invisible. A light brew that goes too far.
3.0 Draft. Powerful blueberry aroma over medium carbonation. Thick fizzy white head that lingers. Yellow bud light color. It's a tasty blueberry ale.
2.6 Bottle. Clear, gold in color with a small head. Aroma is grains with artificial blueberry. Taste is the same, weak grains with a "booberry" flavor
2.6 Draft at Bootlegger’s Bar in Great American Ball Park. Gotta love the A-B distro! I’ve never had a Blue Point beer before. This one pours a bright gold with a deep hue and small white head that dissipates immediately. But there are plenty of big carbonation bubbles in this almost all the way down. There’s some sweet blueberry along with pale and cereal malts, straw, wet leaves, and sugars. Light-bodied, with high carbonation and a malty mouthfeel. There’s nothing wrong here, it’s just so bland.
3.0 12 oz bottle. Pours golden with tall, long-lasting, fluffy white head and lively carbonation. Aroma is of blueberries, grassy hops and bready malt. Body is medium and crisp. Grassy hops, bready malt and blueberries fill the mouth. Finish is long and dry. Drinkable brew.
3.1 12 oz. bottled 24 April 2015. Pours clear golden with a film of meringue on top. Pleasant nose of blueberry Poptart, honey and a bit of dry grass emerge as soon as the bottle is opened, but eventually dissipates to a less pleasant orange-lemon dish soap with some blueberry. Tastes of toast, lemon-honey and lightly tart blueberry. Finish has some dried grass. Light-medium body is sweet with a slight acidic astringency and medium carbonation.
3.0 Farbe golden. Geruch Cassis und Blaubeere. Mundgefühl samtig. Geschmack nichts. Naja.
3.0 Der Geruch erinnert mich total an Blaubeer-Muffins und dies kommt auch im Geschmack immer mehr zum Tragen, je wärmer das Bier wird. Im Abgang leichte Bittere und Säure, leider insgesamt recht wässrig.
3.3 Interesting blueberry accented fruit beer, one of the more enjoyable fruit beers I've had b/c the fruitiness is rather subdued and subtle. I actually didn't even realize I was drinking a fruit beer at first, as I had meant to order the Blue Point flagship lager but there must have been a miscommunication with the waitress. So expecting a standard lager I was intrigued by the sweet wheaty and malty notes that are the bulk of the aroma and taste, with a slight blueberry fruit note following. Not a fruit-forward beer at all, almost has a floral hoppy fruit accent to it. Looks like a yellow hazy wheat beer. Interesting, and I appreciated the less-dominant fruit presence, but in the end I'm a purist and I'll make sure I get the lager next time.
