Blue Point Pumpkin Ale

Blue Point Pumpkin Ale

According to Linus there are 3 things never to discuss with people: religion, politics, and the Great Pumpkin. Our Pumpkin Ale, on the other hand, has made quite a buzz from New Hampshire down to Florida. Every season has its pleasures. Harvest your own with our Pumpkin Ale and reap all that Autumn has to offer. Brewed with pumpkins from only the most sincere patches, this seasonal brew is golden orange, crisp and delicious, with an innocent hint of cinnamon and nutmeg that articulates our favorite season. Gather with friends and family and enjoy the change of seasons while savoring a pint of Pumpkin Ale. Just like the leaves, it’s gone after Thanksgiving.

2.5 Bottle shamelessly shared at the RLGK tasting, March 2016. Pours a clear amber body with no head, minor lacing. Mouthfeel is thin bodied and spicy, with notes of spicy pumpkin, sweet malts and sugars.
2.5 Pours a clear dark amber from a bottle. Aroma is surprisingly banana-y, with typical pumpkin spice and vanilla notes. A little thin with an unpleasant bitterness on the finish. Meh.
1.9 Poured into a pint glass. 3.0 A: Clear light orange color. One and a half fingers of frothy off-white head. Retention is below average and no lacing is left. 2.75 S: Light pumpkin spices with cinnamon and nutmeg most notable. A light hint of caramel accompany mildly bready malts. Pretty mundane overall. 2.25 T: For an unimpressive as the nose is, the taste is more so. It tastes like a half assed pumpkin ale cut with water. Weak spices, weak malts without any strong anchoring flavor, and no hop flavor presence. 2.0 M: Light body. Watery feel. Moderate carbonation. No creaminess to speak of. 2.0 D: Sad excuse of a pumpkin beer. ★ 654 characters DavoleBomb, Nov 30, 2015
3.1 12 oz bottle at home. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have roasted pumpkin, sweet malts, caramel, pumpkin pie spices, some crust, a bit thin but nothing bad, nothing really stands out either.
3.4 DATE TASTED: November 20, 2015 ... GLASSWARE: Hobgoblin pint... OCCASION: having said goodbye to the boys’ pack leader, I now turn my attention to Shan’s birthday tomorrow... APPEARANCE: odd, burlap-patterned label; extremely lively, with herds of bubbles cascading upwards; an equally handsome amber orange body with clarity; snow white head is two-fingered, thick and creamy--the retention is impressive... AROMA: thick pumpkin mixes with allspice, cinnamon, and sharper scents like cheddar jack.. an astringent, medicinal aroma pushes back and cloys, making the experience varied... PALATE: fluid, soft and warming for 5.5% ABV; drinks like a lager...little aftertaste, and the pace is swift in its sipping--sessionable for a spice/vegetable beer...TASTE: a nice malty pumpkin is the majority of the profile, with a lighter flavor than expected; the spices are mostly aligned, with some astringent fluctuation... OVERALL: as pumpkin beers go, not too shabby--not forgettable, but not unforgettable either...one of the better looking seasonals...
3.2 Pours a clear amber color with a creamy white head. Aroma of mostly cinnamon and nutmeg. Sweet flavor with pumpkin and spice background. Decent, but not impressive.
2.7 Ok, tried after pumpkin beer finals,so maybe a little underwhelmed only in comparison to some giants. Apple and cinnamon are strong, pumpkin is weak.
3.2 rom the bottle dated 24 Aug 2015. Mainly orange-amber pour with a cream colored heard that lingers some. A feint pumpkin spice character on the nose. Clean crisp hop note. The body is about medium. The taste is mostly subdued with a tip of the hat to the nutmeg flavors and mild bitterness. There are better pumpkin ales out there.
2.7 Not a great pumpkin. Pours an ugly orange with a white head. Smells slightly of fake pumpkin. Taste is cinnamon and a bit of pumpkin, by boring. Had on tap at the Lighthouse Beer and Wine Festival in Wilminton, NC.
2.7 Pours a clear copper color with a white head. Slight pumpkin aroma. Flat flavor nothing special.
3.1 Bottle from Chevy Chase Supermarket. Hazy orange body with thin head. Nose is spicy, floral of pumpkins and oranges. Taste is also pumpkins, sugar, caramel and spices. Syrupy texture.
2.9 Bottle purchased at Champanes, this beer had a clear light-medium orange-red pour and it gave a small white & off-white cover that receded quickly to a small ring with an island of bubbles, the nose had aromas of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and pepper spice with a little clove, vegetable / pumpkin, malt and a little bread with malt sweetness, the flavors had spices that were similar to the aroma with a little pumpkin / vegetable, toasted malt and bread, malt and bread sweetness, the finish had a light hop bitterness with a small spice bite, spices, malt and malt sweetness trailed afterwards, the mouth feel was light, it was a little creamy and had average to lively carbonation, a light toasted malt beer with spices and pumpkin / vegetable, the spices were more out front in the flavor than on the nose, a so-so pumpkin beer
3.1 12 oz 2015 bottle with a bottling date stamp of July 2015, served in a Belgian snifter. Copper body with excellent clarity but a weak head. Minimal lacing. More spicing in the flavor than I get in the aroma. Mouthfeel: medium carbonation and body. O: Pleasant aroma with less impressive flavor.
3.2 Orange-amber, flat appearance in the his pumpkin brew. Appealing lambent natural pumpkin aroma accompanied by a restrained amount of cinnamon and nutmeg that accentuate the bouquet. The body is of moderate amber malts and gives off some pumpkin notes again accompanied by proportionate doses of cinnamon, and perhaps allspice or nutmeg. A twinkle of vanilla and orange creamsicle develops over time in the aroma and flavor. Overall, a solid, fairly straightforward pumpkin ale.
3.3 9/26/2015: Honestly, there is nothing outstanding nor anything bad about this particular pumpkin beer. It is a good drinker with just enough roasted pumpkin and just enough pie spices coming through in a balanced way without being too mundane. Really smooth and tasty on tap and good enough for at least two pints worth! Draught at Anderson Township Pub.
3.2 Hazy , copper color. Medium-sized off-white head. Aroma of coriander , nutmeg and pumpkin. Spices in malty taste , not over-sweetened with slight bitterness in the end. Not bad.
2.6 Bottle. A hazy, dark golden beer topped by a small, white head. Spiced nose with some caramel. Cardamom, cinnamon and a generic spicyness. It’s medium bodied and nicely carbonated, with spices running the show in the flavor too. Caramel malts in the back, and a little bitterness making sure it’s not very sweet on the palate. Spiced finish. Not much interesting going on here, but at least it downs easily. 150624

3.2 Great pumpkin flavor. Strong enough without being too strong, but it is a pumpkin ale after all.

3.1 12oz bottle - brought by friend. Poured a clear copper color with an off-white head. Aroma was light pumpkin pie notes, plenty of nutmeg and cinnamon. Flavor had light cinnamon and some nutmeg in there. Light pie notes. Okay.
2.5 Pours a dark and murky amber. Has a malt and cinnamon aroma. Heavy and thick body with tastes of malts and cinnamon. Nothing special for a pumpkin beer.
