Bluegrass Nut Brown Ale

Bluegrass Nut Brown Ale

BBC Nut Brown Ale has a diverse grain bill which lends this traditional English ale a variety of flavors that coalesce into a remarkably smooth and pleasant drink. Additions of various pale, caramel and dark malts create a smooth, sweet malt profile with hints of roasted nuttiness. Multiple additions of English hops round out the flavors and give this classic beer a true flavor of the Old World.

2.5 Sampler at BBC Downtown. Nut Brown, really?Pours a clear amber with minima head. Aroma is up front with hints of malt and a little caramel but no nuts. The taste carries this malt through, but lacks the backbone of the nuttiness.
2.3 Pours a clear amber color with minimal head. Aroma is very malty with notes of caramel and yeast. Flavor is an initial clean matly bitterness with a minimal flavor finish. Mouthfeel is average carbonation is good. Overall a decent beer.
3.4 Draft to taster at BBC. Looks solid; a transparent copper with iff-white lacing. Smells and tastes malty and nutty with hints of caramel and an average mouthfeel. Enjoyable.
3.2 Pretty good brown ale. Like the roundness and nuttiness, delicate mix of caramel, faint roast and chocolate, the stronger than expected hops are nice to but certainly don’t seem to age that well. quite well balanced otherwise. thinner with nice carbonation and very drinkable.
3.4 Bottle. Pours brown with a small beige head. Aroma is slightly nutty with caramel. Flavor of nuts and caramel with a hint of light chocolate. Similar finish with some earthy hops.
2.5 Draft. Clear brown. Aroma of caramel. Taste is caramel and nuts. Medium to light body. Boring.
0.9 Bottle. Sour vinegar aroma. Hazy chestnut with a gargantuan tan head... as in 4/5th of the glass large head.. as in I had to wait 10 minutes to taste the damn thing large head. Only to discover I had an infected bottle and will have to revisit this one at a later date. Sour lactic flavor, unpleasant.
3.3 Sampled at an esbls tasting. Clear mid brown withno head. This is nutty more than anything. A bit of fruot and soft hs. Not bad at all.
3.4 Aroma is malts, fruit and mild sweetness. The flavor is sweet malts, fruit, slightly nutty and a tart/sour finish.
3.8 Dark mahogany with decent, creamy orange-tan head / Smooth nose of roast barley, chocolate, coffee, and cream / Medium body, a touch watery but creamy and smooth, dry with just a hint of sweetness, excellent balance and finish / Somewhat cooked flavors of semisweet chocolate, roast coffee, nut, and cream / Solid, without being exceptional in any category.
3.2 On tap sampler at Pizzeria Paradiso in Alexandria, VA. Clear, dark orange mahogany with cream head and good lacing. Aroma of toffee, caramel, bread, roasted malt and nuts. Taste of caramel, lightly roasted malt, pumpernickel and toffee with a sweet malty finish. Medium body and medium carbonation.
3.0 this one was all over the place .. . pours a medium tan .. light foamers .. . why do women soccer players just not have tits? .. light brown bread, un sweetened maple syrup, and light nuts .. . light mouth, muddled finish - just average .. . . "Spin-off!" Is there any word more thrilling to the human soul?
3.9 bottle. clear brown with almost no head. aroma of cocoa powder, fudgesicles. honey and fudge flavors. a sweet brown ale. more fudgy, less nutty. has a very strong "brown" flavor. robust.
3.2 Dark brown, decent tan head. Roasted nut aroma. Taste is rich....malt, roasted nuts, chocolate... Slightly, lightly porter-ish.....very easy drinking. Not outstanding, but a good, solid beer.
3.0 Notes of nuttiness in the aroma. Pours dark brown with minimal head. Good tastes of nuttiness and roasted malts throughout.
2.8 Draft. Brown pour with no head, yes it is almost flat. Roasty taste and thin.
2.9 Sweet roasted malt and an overall nutty flavor. Aroma is full caramel malt. Rich taste. Carbonation is medium. Medium bodied. A solid beer, but it seemed slightly overpriced for what it is.
3.6 draft pours out dark reddish brown with nice foamy white head. the aroma was of roasted malt and some slight chocolate. the flavor is quite nice the body is rather light but yet refreshing the roasted malts and chocolate come out. can taste that bit of nuttiness. very decent beer.
2.9 Pours a rich copper with a thick white head. It has a fruity, slightly malty aroma. The taste is of grape nuts/wheat berries and a slightly sweet maltiness. The mouthfeel is pretty watery, which is a little detracting.
3.5 Dark red brown, with a persistent low head. Aroma is sweet and malty with a hint of dark roastiness. Flavor is lovely... Dark roasted barley over biscuit and mild sweetness. Medium body with fair complexity. I would drink this again.
2.9 Pours a medium bright brown color. There isn’t much head and it is a bright white. This beer smells a little sweet and almost fruity. Not a lot on the nose. It tastes of chocolate and coffee with a bit of a malty/nutty aftertaste. Light bodied, drinkable, just not much flavor. I guess I am getting used to the "American" style Brown Ales.
4.4 Excellent beer. A little sweet with a slight nutty flavor. Tastes like the nut brown version of fat tire.
3.5 12 oz bottle pours brown with a off white head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate and smoke. The taste has the same notes in them.
2.9 Bottle. Pours, imagine that, brown with thin beige head. Aroma is roasted malts and a certain nuttiness. Sweet on he front end and somewhat bitter in the aftertaste department. Nothing stellar, but tasty nonetheless. Wouldn’t have another.
3.1 12oz bottle, thanks to Thunder. Somewhat hazy brown / red color, minimal off-white head. A bit more sharp, moderate carbonation. Decent mild chocolate nutty malt aroma, with a more sweet taste. Some caramel in there. Ok, but I’m not really a huge fan.
