Boags Premium Lager

Boags Premium Lager

A European style lager brewed from the finest quality pilsner malts. This beer is fermented at a lower temperature than most Australian lagers, and employs an extended maturation period. These combine together with a mixture of kettle and late hopping to yield a crisp pale lager

4.0 one of two best Lagers in aussie i know So far. versatile drinkability, crisp, medium Bitter,
2.4 Bottle, during a holiday in Australia. Backlog rating from my bottle collection and historic scoring. Source not recorded. Tasting notes not kept, just rating.
2.0 375ml can on Qantas flight. Pours gold. Acidic aroma, peach, syrupy, quite bready and a little cardboard. Decent body. Not great.
2.8 Bottle. Clear golden yellow with a slowly fading sudsy off white head. Aroma is of biscuit, citrus, crisp. Taste is of biscuit, light citrus, hint of butterscotch, crisp, light. Watery mouthfeel, medium carbonation.
2.9 Bottle. Soft, sweet hop aroma. Crisp, but over sweet, and quite plain. Its not the worst lager, but its certainly not troubling the best. Overall, a bit 'meh'.
1.9 Courtesy of Jaghana. Couleur dorée légère mousse. Nez malté, un peu noisette et papier, note houblonnée. Gout malté céréales, sucré , houblon poussiereux, rapide et aqueux. Lager de base
1.8 Bottle 375ml, brought back from my sister many thanks. A clear yellow beer with good head. Nose is nutty very lager like, grain notes. Aroma is on grain and wet paper, low body, quite boring, dusty hops, no much more to say.
2.7 clear golden color with small head. foam needs more duration, but it leaves very thin cover which is enough to protect. aroma is slight corn and herbal hops. taste is not complex, standart lager. malt sweetness is leading, but finish is more balanced. light body, moderate carbonation. soft on palate. not special, but this is drinkable summer lager.
1.4 Pours golden with a white frothy head. Light aroma. Grain, malts and slightly skunked. (Damn green bottles). Taste is equally as light. This is Australia’s equivalent to Coors Light.
2.9 Bière plutôt aqueuse d’un blond assez clair. Se bout facilement. Peu de goût ce qui est dommage. Reste néanmoins une bière agréable à boire après une journée de travail. Rafraîchissante.
2.5 Pours clear very light yellow, slight whit head. + is malt, slight sour apple, typical pale lager. Flavor is lightly malty, touch of hops. Light mouthfeel. Typical for the style, nothing special, sessionable enough, quenching after a hot bike ride.
2.3 Bottle at cathay pasific lounge melbourne. Clear golden color, white head. Aroma has malts, some fruity notes. Fresh malty taste with hint of hops.
3.4 Appearance: bright clear amber, great head with good lacing Aroma: malt, light fruit Mouthfeel: medium full creamy Mouthfeel, medium carbonation Taste: mild hop bitterness. Creaminess. Light fruit. Well balanced
3.0 Nice crispy clean lager. A good mix of bitter and sweet with nothing offensive. Good all year beer.
2.8 Aroma - spicy hops and cereal malt. Appearance - the body is a clean pale, with some nucleation. The head is white, and around 2/3". The head fades into a foam. Some decent lacing. Taste - has a cereal like malt. Hops are spicy. Palate - light body, smooth texture, the carbonation is average, the finish is crisp and dry.
3.1 Good two finger head, malty character, taste a bit of corn syrup, grain then a slightly bitter follow through. Easy on the palate. Overall a solid fullish lager. I quite liked it.
2.8 375ml bottle at the July 2016 Shrewsbury Bottle Share meeting: cheers Mat. Bright, clean and clear golden body with a fast fading white head. Corn led aroma and taste, but not all bad, as it tasted OK, if a little on the sweet side.
3.1 330ml bottle from Discount Supermarket, Cardiff. Pours clear gold, white head. Sweetcorn / syrup aroma. Taste isn’t actually that bad, nicely balanced with a mild sweetness, low bitterness and no off-flavours. Would have again.
2.4 BB 13/10/16. Poured a crystal clear golden mid-amber colour with a one- to two-finger bright white frothy head that retained very well and laced well as rings. Aroma of grain and hints of malt; no obvious hops. taste of slightly sweet citrus; no real bitterness; a bit sour as it warms. Light body. Crisp, clean, smooth and refreshing with a moderate length slightly sweet finish. decent enough while cold.
2.9 Haven’t had one of these since college down under back around turn of century and since pale lagers go well with Indian food ordered. Norma golden colored. Nose is faint hops and light grains. Tastes of grains, hint of piney hops, touch of malt. No off flavors and refreshing enough for what it is.
2.1 08-May-2016-0,75 L Flasche. Sattes Goldgelb, klar, weisser Schaum. Aroma: Getreidig. Antrunk: Malzig, weinig. Flach.
1.8 Bottle on Manly Fast Ferry. Paired with a bag of original thins, which works.Green colour as I am drinking from the bottle. Could be worse for its style. Fairly refreshing, at least some hoppy taste, pleasant carbonation. Ultimately tastes of very little though.
2.4 (bottle) clear golden colour with a frothy white head. aroma of marzipan, straw and green apple, with some notes of bread dough and lemon peel. flavour is mostly hay and marzipan, slightly meaty, with a hint of powdered sugar and a slightly starchy semi-dry finish. light- to medium-bodied with average carbonation.
2.9 Bottle. Clear fizzy yellow body. Grassy notes in the aroma and flavor, fairly clean and no off-flavors. Slight mineral note, and overall inoffensive. I drank like 7 of these sitting on the beach in mid-winter NSW somewhere. It did the job.
3.1 Grain and light spice aroma. Clear golden body with about an inch of pure white head. Has smooth light grain and malt taste. Light corn sweetness. Pleasant and refreshing. Light bodied. Clean crisp wet finish. Good one for everyday refreshment.
1.9 A bottle in the Aussie Bar, Tampere, Finland. Clear golden color with a small white head. Cereal malt, mild skunky hops and some dryness in the aroma and flavor. Typical lager with some hoppy notes.
2.6 From bottle in footed pilsner. Pours clear golden-amber with nice frothy head and modest aroma. Nice tasting PL with crisp finish punctuated with enough hop bitterness to be interesting
2.3 375ml Flasche. Hellgelb, wenig Schaum. Hopfen und Citrus in der Nase. Herb im Geschmack mut starker Getreidenote. Etwas zu viel Kohlensäure.
2.1 Bottle. Decent appearance, pale yellow, white head. Grainy cereal aroma. Flavor is bland but fine for the crappy style, smooth with mild sweetness and slight bitterness. Light as shit, fizzy. For FYB it could be worse.
