3.9 More yeast+brett than any Tripel I can ever remember? Also the biggest gusher I can recall (and I almost never comment on whether it gushes on opening). Slight honey and stonefruit (nectarine?), and esters, on nose; slighter but still full body; alcohol burn bringing up the rear.
3.6 Bottle. The bottle was a complete gusher, lots of white foam. Somewhat hazy yellow amber beer. Nose is hoppy, yeasty perfume, citrus. Flavor has the same qualities as the nose, but with lots of warm booze in the background. Spicy-hoppy finish, toasty notes. Lots of lingering alcohol. A bit too boozy, but the flavor profile is pretty nice.
3.0 330ml bottle. Clear deep golden color with more than few floaty bits swimming around. Very excited to see me. Huge head and what was left to bottle it climbs out. Sweet malts, perfume, bit of acetone and plastic in aroma. Perfumey hops, yeasty, sweet and malty in taste. Sweet malts and some alcohol in aftertaste. Perfumey hops too. High carbonation. Feels bit old and slightly papery.
3.1 330 bottle at Koht Darkish yellow. Poured with flecks. Lots of ugly yeast at the bottom of the bottle, pours flecky. Pleasant spicy citrussy perfumey aroma, quite typically belgian tripel. Pleasant sweetish bready malts, surprisingly clean. Plenty of fruity esters, with that belgin fingerprint. Again spicy herbal hops, pleasantly bitter resins. Potent, but not boozy. Some more yeast mellows it but it makes it duller too. Prefered the cleaner version.
4.4 Lekker fris fruitig aroma. Geuren van perzik, abrikoos, gele pruimen. Lekker vol en romig in de mond. Smaken van ananas, meloen, geel fruit. Licht hoppige, warme afdronk. Superbier !!!
4.1 Hazy, golden beer with a huge, fluffy head. Has some honeyish sweet notes with an lovely spicyness.
3.8 On tap at Delirium Village in Brussels. Light cloudy golden colour, low cap. Bitter sour taste
4.0 On tap @ Zythos treviso 2015. Aroma intenso, fruttato, pera williams, albicocca matura, esteri da lievito belga e zucchero candito. Gusto dolce amabile, poco amara, decisamente fruttata. Piacevole erbaceo il finale. Corposa, poco carbonata, calda, astringente. Equilibrata ed armonica.
3.6 Pours a hazy orange / gold with an inch of foam that leaves some good lacing behind. Smells yeasty, hoppy, fruity. The taste is yeasty, hoppy bitter, earthy when it comes to the malt. Medium body and carbonation. It is pretty good example of the style but I don’t think I would buy it again.
2.7 Pours rather light. Banana and yeast aroma. Typical Belgian triple taste but a bit alcohol taste. A decent triple.
3.6 Very nice and unfiltered Tripel. I really love it’s texture and creamy hoppy aroma.
3.8 Amber hazy with small white head. Yeast and citrus aroma. Bitter with ciyrus nites, yeasty fruitness some malt swet with honey notes. Strong bitter aftertaste.
3.5 Bottle @ home. Hazy golden colour, white foam. Lively carbonation. Grassy with notes of grapefruit and peach. Easy drinkable. Ok tripel.
3.4 Clear liquid, large head. Light aroma of hops. Medium body, little carbonation. Taste is fresh and bitter.
3.6 Bottle: Poured a murky toilet brown copper with off white head. Sweet sugary fruit aroma. Nice sweet malts, sugary, fermented fruit and dry metallic finish.
2.8 Medium white head, golden cheatnut colour, fruity yeast malts some sour smell, medium carbonation medium to high bitter, peppery a bit acid
3.8 Bottle from Special Brews in Lynwood, WA. Pours gold with a white head. Fruit ester aromas. Like fruits de bois with a nhint of banana. Flavor is a bit sweet, but the esters and yeast seem appropiate. Pretty tasty and drinkable tripel.
3.9 Bottle in Bruges. Poured a hazy orange, with a dense white head. Aroma of peaches, Belgian yeast and some lemon zest. Malty flavours, with bread, caramel and light straw. Finish was tinned fruit, resin and herbs.
3.2 33 cl bottle. Golden with huge frothy white head. Flower aroma, flavour of yeast and malt
3.6 Bottle @ Comptoir des Arts, Brugge. Cloudy amber-blonde with a head. It’s fruity with orange a dominant flavour. Has a small floral aroma.
3.3 Tasted as Boelens Tripel Klok, which is the ’new’ name of this brew since 2009 (so the name above needs updating). Not entirely the same recipe either: this version has more hoppiness than the old version. Thick, almost rocky, yellowish white head, hazy peach blonde colour. Aroma of peaches, sweet honey, field flowers, vanilla, perhaps some iron, cake. Soft fruity onset, some citrus freshness, apple, smooth and medium thick mouthfeel, soft and gentle, finishing in a floral hop bitterishness through which the malt sweetness also lingers. Well-balanced, but a bit cliché.
3.2 Bottle courtesy of Wilkes and Lynn (won in a charity auction at WOB, Carrollwood). Gold pour with white head. Aroma of herbal, cheese. Tastes are spicy, floral, peach.
3.8 Lots of citrus fruit in the nose at first. Nice orange pour with great foam head. Good carbonation. Citrus goes to malt, sugar, bitters, some corn flakes, leaves and spices. Long finish which is mostly dry and sweet, with some alcohol after a while but not much. Enjoyable tripel
3.3 Bottle: Bernstein color. minimal head, which disappears right away. Aroma and Taste has orange and hay. Some sourness and bitterness.
3.8 golden color , hazy, off-white head. nose: malts, yeast, floral, hoppy, fruity. very fine. taste: malts, yeast, hops. finish is dry, ibtter with a bitter sweet ending. good carbonation. bit of a smooth body, well balanced. beats expectations by far. nice tripel, well made.
2.8 Bottle. Light hazy pale body with high frosty head. Aroma is light vegetable with spicy character. Taste has high acidic bitterness upfront with low caramel sweetness, pretty unbalanced by the acidity in the after taste, but somehow refreshing. Body is full, high carbonation.
