3.3 Light Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma malt, fruit and a bit spicy. Taste fruity with a herbal bitter aftertaste.
3.7 Flesje thuis gedronken. Geel, oranje-achtig licht troebel bier met stevig schuim. Kruidig, fruitig, tot snoepachtig aroma. Smaak is kruidig en bitterzoet. Nasmaak is bitter.
3.0 Pours clear and sparkling golden with a creamy white head, with yeast particles. The aroma contains yeast, malt, hops, sugar, some fruit and vegetables. Also some dough and barnyard which give the beer an ’old’ character (could have been the bottle). It tastes medium sweet overall, leading to a dry and yeasty finish. Creamy texture, average carbonation, hIdes the alcohol. Typical Tripel and there might be something off, but I’m giving it the benefit of the doubt here.
3.3 Bottle from Kisjes Slijterijen, Meppel. Aroma is peppery yeast, bready pale malt, fruity and spicy notes, citrus, mild sugary, bit floral and perfumed. Flavour is about medium sweet and light to moderate bitter. Medium bodied, alcohol is well-hidden. Sweet and spicy peppery fruity Belgian strong ale, good stuff.
3.5 Bottle, 330 ml from Beergium. Shared with JFK10000 and Josip. Pours cloudy yellow, large white head. Yeast, fruit, spices, sweet, some alcohol. Medium bodied.
3.6 F: big, off-white, long lasting. C: opal golden, hazy. A: malty, yeasty, floral, orange peels, vanilla, hint of candy, spicy, hint fruity. T: malty, candy, spicy, light orange fruits, sweet and dry together, hint coriander, very lively carbonation, full body, alcohol is warming but almost not noticed, interesting balanced, very good, 33cl bottle from Prik&Tik /Quali-drinks/ in Brussels.
3.4 30/09/2016 @home - 33cl bottle from a gift. Orange colour with creamy white head. Nose is sweet malts, fruits, spices. Taste is first sweet malts, fruits, some spices, soft hopbitter ending. All in all too soft for this ABV
3.9 Similar to the Boerken, but a little more gentle and less outspoken. Beautiful foam head that returns while swirling. Apricots, banana, grapefruit, hint of lemon zest. More bitterness than the Boerken. Slight floral notes. Slightly drier than Boerken too.
3.7 Slightly murky amber gold with frothy head, gentle carbonation. A: candy sugar, yeast, sweet maltiness, light acidic note. T: nicely balanced, mouthfeel is a bit syrupy. Sweet maltiness with apricot and orange notes. Medium bitter development with acidic note, sweet bitter finish with sugar note.
3.8 Bottle. Pours hazy amber with stable off-white head. Clear aroma of fruit, flowers and malt, wit notes of yeast. Sweetish, fruity flavour with malty notes and mild floral touches, cimplemented by bitter notes of hops and hints of Belgian yeast. Bitterish and estery aftertaste with sweetish notes of malt. Well-hidden ABV. A very decent Abbey Tripel.
3.3 Aroma: Slight/medium aroma of malts, Belgian yeast and fruit. Appearance: Hazy/turbid golden/amber beer with a slight/medium white head. Taste/Palate: Medium sweet with malts, Belgian yeast and fruit.
4.0 A beautiful bottle but no details about the hops, malts or drink temperature. A amber cloudly beer with a full body, short white head, carbonation flat, light sweet and light bitter with a taste of orange (I have a 0.33l bottle with best-before date 18.08.2016)
3.4 Medium to large white head, golden amber coloured body, yeasty malts sweet caramel smell, medium carbonation medium bitter herby yeasts estery malts taste
3.2 Bottle, pours murky dirty blond. Dense head. Lots of yeast aroma’s: bread, biscuit, toast. Rather sweet, warming. Slightly oxidized. Decent.
4.1 Wow, one of the most impressive Abbey Tripels I’ve tried this year. It has a very strong aroma of yeast, malts and hops. It somehow also had a flowerish-feel to it. There’s something about this beer which makes it special.
3.2 Hazy golden with white head. Smell some weedlike hops. Sweet malts, spices, grassy, some dried fruit. Big alcohol, full bodied. Backlog from 2014/06/25.
3.5 2/6/2009 9:46:51 AM From Cracked Kettle. Golden brown body, creamy head. Fruits and spices in the nose. Some caramel, oranges, malts. Nice finish.
4.1 Bottle @ home. Ambrata, velata riflessi aranciati. Schiuma beige fine molto persistente. Aroma inteso fruttato, pesca sciroppata, lievito belga, zucchero candito, speziato (coriandolo e pepe bianco).gusto molto intenso amabile fruttato, zucchero candito, speziato di pepe. Corpo pieno, poco carbonata e molto fine, calda alcolica, astringente sulle gengive. Rotonda.
3.7 Color is between blond and amber, with a white head. Some honey and orange flavors. Very decent abbey tripel.
3.3 33cl bottle. Clear orangish golden colour with a generous white head. Sweet malts and light spices in the aroma. Average to soft carbonation and medium body. Taste is a bit sweet with some fruity notes. Overall, a nice tripel but quite normal.
4.5 Pours hazy amber with rocky froth. Aroma is corn flakes, bread dough, honey, porridge. Fresh, powerful, low bitterness.
3.5 Clear warm golden colour, firm white head. Aroma of alcohol, apricot sauce, apple, candied apple. Yeasty flavour, sweet apple, caramel, alcohol. Sweet finish, sweet apple. (from 33cL swingtop bottle @ Milo’s place. Thanks for sharing, Emiel1001!)
3.6 It’s difficult to neglect the classic bottle when reviewing this beer. But I’ll give it a try. Smooth golden-orange beer with nice white foam. An even smoother drinker, with a nice bitterness-sweet balance.
3.5 Bottle. Pours almost amber in color, whitish head. Very fruity notes at first, light grassyness and quite sweet notes, perhaps bit like butterscotch actually. There’s also some yeasty spicyness present. Enough with bitters here keeping the sweetness under control. Some ripe fruityness with floral and biting spicyness in taste. Citrus and grassyness later on.
4.1 Love that swingtop bottle. Huge frothy head. Opaque orange in colour. Honey taste but not overly sweet. Good carbonation.
3.1 The blonde counterpart of Boerken, also made for Den Ouden Advokaat and packed in the same swingtop bottle but with different print. Cloudy peach blonde tripel with thick, frothy head and estery profile with malt sweetness, some DMS, peach and orange, soft with dryish and bitterish finish with some warming alcohol. Decent but stereotypical.
