3.3 How: Bottle. Where: From Systembolaget. Had at a tasting 2015-04-18. Appearance: Dark brown colour with a tan head. Aroma: Caramel, spices, roasted malt, some spices, oranges. Body: Medium body, low carbonation. Flavour: Caramel, sweet malt, oranges, spices.
3.3 April 18, 2015. Bottle. Shared by AndySnow, thanks! Black with a brown head. Aroma is spicy, nuts, toffee and light roasted. Taste is medium sweet, dry spicy and light bitter roasted notes. Medium bodied, soft carbonation.

Flowery chocolate aroma. Medium, sweet and medium bodied with pleasant soft mouthfeel. Mildly flavourful with burnt cocoa, licorice and syrup. Chocolatey finish. A laid back wonderfully balanced beer.
3.9 Bottle from systembolaget. Pours dark brown with a small brown head. Aroma has liqorice, roasted malts and caramel. Taste is roasty and sweet with a very dark feeling. Palate is sticky and oily. Overall a really nice beer, very pleasant and tasteful.
3.8 Flaska från SB. Smak och doft av choklad, rostad malt, karamell, apelsin, farinsocker, nötter, plommon, russin, julkryddor med toner av läder. Fruktig, lagom sötma, bra balans mellan smakerna, fin beska. Ett väldigt fint julöl. Earlier Rating: 4/15/2012 Total Score: 3.3 Doft av mörkt socker. Smak av svagdricka, malt, knäck, mörkt socker, brödig och julig. 6p av 10 vid julölsprovningen 2011.
3.4 Tap @ Taphouse, Copenhagen. Almost black color with medium sized brown head. Nose has sweet, roasted spices. Taste is sweet, roasty, balanced with spicy ending. Tasted 071114.
3.4 Bogedal 350 which the brewer says is a copy of 103 which aliases to 73 here on RB. Tap at Mikkeller Bangkok. Poured a clear dark brown with a round bubbly light tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, light orange citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet with a light mineral, roasty, light caramel cream, light fruit, light spice palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Nice, but a little lightweight for me.
3.8 Poured from bottle, hazy dark brown with low beige head. Aroma is strong with notes of bread, caramel, citrus and leather. Taste is surprisingly light, sweet and some bitterness.

2.6 26.12.2014, 0,75l bottle (as #351) @ home: Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is kind of dry moldy, hay, yeast, dark malts, alcohol, orange peel, moldy cellar, oak, grass. Taste is slightly dry, dark malts, hay, yeast, burnt caramel, alcohol, moldy cellar, paper, oak. Medium bitterness, dry slightly harsh mouthfeel. Boring and strange.
3.8 750ml Bottle - Dark brown with a small tan head. Orange, chocolate and a hint of dried fruit in the aroma. Nicely balanced taste with notes of chocolate, orange, brown sugar and roasted malt combining to great effect.
3.7 Pours black with a low tan head. Aromas of roasted malts, orange, brown sugar and cloves. Taste is roasted malts, orange, muscovado sugar, cloves. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.

3.7 Rosin, karamel, maltet, let sødlig brun. Engelsk stil. Mørk mørk kastanjebrun. Meget let ristet maltsmag, det fylder godt. God rund med masser af fylde og ganske bitter faktisk. Noter af ristet malt, karamel, appelsinskal. Chokomalt.
4.1 Bottle. Pours very dark reddish brown with small brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel, brunt sugar, muscovado, apples, oranges, vanilla and hints of oak. Taste is initial light acidic, then medium sweet and light to medium bitter. Body is light oily with light sparkling carbonation. Finish is long and light bitter with notes of burnt sugar, orange peel, coriander, gravy, butter, bread crust.
3.3 Draught @ Fairbar. Pours hazy orange with a very small offwhite head. Aorma of malt, caramel, light dark fruits. Flavor is malt, yeast, caramel, little orange, sweet dark fruits. Medium body, average carbonation. 071113
4.3 "Dark ale with orange peels." Superb Belgian dark. Dubbel? Plums on the nose. A dark, low carbonation pour. Plums in flavor with a solid "Belgian" backbone. Surprisingly low ABV. Splendid!

3.8 Bottle, shared with my in-laws over pre-Christmas dinner. This bottle is #0136, with a small red "Christmas edition" stamped on it. It also says 2008. Light pop upon releasing the cork. Dark brown with golden brown highlights and a thin off-white head. Aroma is yeasty, with cocoa, brown sugar, spices. Bitter cocoa, brown sugar, spices, lightly peaty, anise, orange peel bitterness. This really changed over the duration of the glass, very interesting and tasty. A nice treat and a pleasure to have shared it.
3.1 Draught at Bjergtrolden, #303. Hazy red-brown with a beige head. Aroma meaium+ malty (roasted, brown sugar), light spicy. Flavor medium+ sweet, light spicy and bitter. Medium body.
3.7 had as Nr 127. pours a clear dark brown with a red tint, a small beige head, above average carbonation, and great lacing. smell of dark fruits, spice, orange peel, brown sugar, and oak. taste is of spice, brown sugar, wood, malt, molasses, oragne peel, a bit tart, and some hops. ends a little dry and somewhat bitter.

4.0 Draft from the Thirsty Monk in Asheville. Espresso black pour with cafe-au-lait colored foam that is dense and creamy. Aromas of orange, coffee and chocolate, and a hint of wood and peat. Very interesting. Palate is light and lively. Tastes of coffee and orange and a good balance between sweetness and bitterness of a good acidity.
3.2 Bottle shared at local beer tasting. Dark brown, big medium brown head. Arma of roasted malt, licorice, spices. Taste of coffe, chocolate, some orange peels, sugar. Good body, spicy bitter finish.
3.8 Draft as 136 at Farmers Cabinet. Very dark brown with a tight tan head. Clean malt flavors. Coffee. Chocolate caramel. Dark red fruits. Charcoal. Notable not so much for the flavors but in the crisp ease which they are presented. Direct and to the point and quite wondrous! Good stuff!
3.8 Batch 136 on calvados wood. Aroma of barrel aged rum, figs, and raisins. Pours black with no head. Taste is bitter with heavy dusty wood notes, bitter raisin, and molasses. More tart than the tastes imply. Very nice.
