From the tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours golden with some foam (fine). Aroma is hay, barnyard. Typical. Bistro is tendentially light, no carbonation. Taste is acid, but not too invasive. It’s round. Finish is short.
3.62-year unblended Oude Foeder #14.
Złotopomarańczowe, zmętnione, mało piany. W aromacie miła dzikość z delikatnym powiewem owoców: porzeczki, wiśni, brzoskwini, moreli. W smaku umiarkowanie kwaśne, cierpkie w przyjemny sposób, wyraźniejsza nuta wiśni.
3.6This is a backlog rating from 2007 on cask shared by Tmoney99, from notes. When I had this beer it was average to below average for the style and not something I wanted to have again or I just didn't get back to my notes because of my technology at the time. Words to describe this beer are funky, sour citrus, wood, some acidity, one of my first lambic experiences.
3.9On tap in St Albans, England
While perusing the tap list at Mad Squirrel I noticed a new Boon's lambic on draft. Having had one or two other entries in the VAT series I immediately asked for a pour. This one happened to be VAT 82.
AROMA / APPEARANCE
Old oak and leather linger in the air as if transported to a cobbler's shop. The mild sourness pops up without the strong assertiveness of an older, funkier lambic. The cool inviting rose body however does resemble what most people run across in the stores.
FLAVOR / PALATE
Citrus, honey, and dried malts soak up the moisture of the mouth as they work to the back of the throat. The finish of yeast and blue cheese brings out the highlights of the funky back end. If this were bottled and available in the United States I would love to add it to a future side by side with the Discovery Kit that was recently launched.

4.0Tap (? Hotel Bar, Kaunas) as "Boon Lambiek 84" (8:4:8:4:14=4.0)
Holy jesus, such a beautiful apricot aroma, with a gentle accompaniament of sourness. Gentle palate, soft carbonation, pleasant tartness. Taste also apricotty, a really mellow sourness. Very dry woodiness in the finish. God, I think this is the best tap Belgian ale I've ever had. Apricotty finish, oh, so good. Absolutely classic lambic, nails all aspects with pinpoint precision, one others should be compared to. Wow.
2.925 March 2019. At In de Verzekering tegen de Grote Dorst. Shared with the lovely Anke!
Presented as "Boon Vat 84" but apparently it's regular 'Oude Lambiek'. Pours clear pale orange, minimal, off-white head. Aroma is lambic-like but quite smelly: barnyard, cow stable & fodder, wet hay & straw, farmland, cobwebs, attic, and eventually strong manure as well. Taste is only light fruity sweet, but in a wort-like, yeasty & fodder-like manner; light woody bitterness ensues, with attic, barnyard, dust, wet hay, manure & farmland popping up retronasally, a tad spicy & peppery even. Lactic sourness is there but restrainedly. Dryish, grassy hoppy finish, yeasty, woody, more barnyard & manure. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Probably one of the least pleasant pure Lambics I've tried.
3.7#97: Clear golden. Aroma is light berries slight chalk some peel. Taste is sour with at least a little carbonation. Fruity and leathery tart with sweet fruity somewhat piney finish. Some berries as well. Very nice.

Corpo leggero. Una birra in cui l'acidita è morbida ed abbastanza stemperata, poco strutturata ma con una bevibilità molto alta.
