Bottle Logic Darkstar November

Bottle Logic Darkstar November

Imperial stout brewed with molasses and rye & aged in bourbon barrels
Like the Stealth aircraft that inspired it, this bourbon barrel aged stout is shrouded in mystery. While its secrets may remain hidden forever, you hold in your hand a piece of the puzzle. End transmission.
(from 2014 label)

Decoded images from Eve's transmissions unveil this year's release of Darkstar November, the barrel-aged beer where it all began. Snippets of sweet molasses, spicy rye, velvety vanilla, and bourbon-soaked chocolate oak have been detected and will prove to have thoroughly infiltrated this ... Imperial Stout.

4.6 Bottle at home. Pitch black, creamy beige head. Intense roasted malty chocolate, boozy bourbon, toffee, vanilla, molasses, as it warms it gets some light portorized vinous red fruits. Nice chocolate boozy linger. Big body, soft but lively carbonation, sticky mouthfeel.
3.8 500ml bottle. Sweet, heavy and roasty with some bourbon, toffee, vanilla and syrup, some rye and coffee. Quite heavy.
4.7 Rocznik 2018 pity w formie bottle sharingu. Pralinki czekoladowe, nugat, kokos, gorzka czekolada. Piwo nie z tej ziemi.
3.8 50cl bottle pours a leggy, cola brown with some thick, khaki head. Nose has chocolate, malt, booze, vanilla, nougat. Flavor is the same, cola, vanilla, nougat, chocolate. Less booze than the Red Eye had.

3.8 On tap at MBCC '19, Green session, 14 % abv. Dissipating tan-coloured head, pitch black in the glass, spotty lacing. Dark chocolate nose with a bourbon touch. Mixed taste of chocolate malts, oak, bread, dark syrup and molasses beneath. Warming, bourbon-driven chocolate to a long-lived ending. Good drinking. (Copenhagen 11.05.2019).

3.9 WeWork tasting (20.01.2019). Dark brown pour, some light brown foam. Chocolaty nose, cocoa and liquid bitter chocolate. Taste has good spicy choco body, bit chillies there dry and not that sweet. Deep fruity base but covered with spicy chocolate, burnt black bread there. Decent.
3.5 Super boozy and simple with dark chocolate, raisins and plums but way too boozy. Big full body and way too boozy. Needs three years. Way too fresh. Maybe can rate later
4.2 Pitch black pour, tan head... viscous body... Aroma of dark chocolate, molasses, roasted malts, vanilla, bourbon barrel... Flavor is sticky molasses, rye, dark chocolate, roasted malts, maybe a hint of anise... light bourbon barrel notes on finish... very well done BA stout, average cold but excellent as it warms...
3.9 Draft. 2018 version at 13.8%. Huge aroma of chocolate. Flavors are richly chocolatey too, with a teeny bit of rye kick. Also fig. The bourbon and the molasses are pretty hard to find. Blended beautifully -- I can't find the abv at all.
4.3 11/17/18 (Chicago): 2 oz 14.1% ABV pour at FOBAB into taster glass. Black pour, thin tan lacing. Malt, chocolate and coconut aroma, whiskey faint. Chocolate and whiskey the predominate taste, light coconut, balanced. Creamy mouth feel, smooth. Overall very good offering!
4.3 W aromacie dużo czekolady, mocno beczkowe, melasa lekka jest. W smaku półsłodkie, lekka palona goryczka. Na finiszu lekko kwaskowa kawa, suszone owoce w tle i kakao. Wysycenie zerowe, alkohol świetnie ułożony, degustacyjne
