3.6 Draft. A- Citrus, peaches, slightly bitterness, wheat, honey. A- Golden color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Peaches, citrus, slight bitterness, wheat, grains. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, smooth finish. O- Very refreshing. I don’t really like much that Boulder Beer does but this one was pretty solid. Not a ton going on but for a Blond Ale, it had some nice juicy notes and a little bitterness to add to it.
3.0 On tap at the Dark Horse. Appearance: finger white head, golden color, good lacing, clear. Aroma: fruity, light wheat, light citrus hops. Palate: medium light body, average carbonation, slightly oily texture. Taste: sweet light wheat and caramel malt with citrus hops on the back end. Overall, not super good and overly sweet.
3.6 12oz can picked up at Harmons Pours clear light golden with a small white head, some lacing. Aroma is bready, grassy and fruity. Taste is bready, mild caramel with a citrus bitterness in the finish A nice, clean, easy drinking golden ale.
3.6 Bread, sweet, orange/apple fruity aroma. Bread/light caramel malt flavor. Dry bready aftertaste. A little fruity flavor, and some herbal flavor. Need to try again when it’s warmer out.
3.5 355ml can. Deep golden pour. Pleasant light grain smell, light herbal hops. Flavor is light and pleasant, slightly tangy hop, biscuity honey flavor, some fresh herb, bright heavy carbonation.
2.8 From a can. Light amber with a foamy white head. Smells of biscuit, yeast, and malt. Tastes of malt and a hint of hops.
3.1 Pours golden orange pour with creamy white head. Aroma of toasted malt, fruit, and bread. Fruit, bread, and toasted malt flavor. Decent beer.
3.0 Dark gold, thin white head. Smells toasty, lightly fruity. Taste is fruity, toasty. Pretty much the definition of a tick...
2.3 From a can smell simply like good beer, almost cabbage like some lagers but not. Pale yellow. First taste is fairly smooth, has a tad of a medicinal feel to it. Decent carbonation but not really lively as stated in the description. Does lack many ill ale attributes that I’ve become familiar with and I’m thankful for that. Not too bad overall.
2.9 Can from Kroger in Grandview. Copper-orange pour with thin white head and spotty stick. Aims of grain, wheat, honey, bread. Tastes are sweet bread, honey, light raisin.
2.4 Too light for my taste, but a good thirst-quenching beer. The label doesn’t work for me, it’s kitschy old wild west stuff, probably from the Consolidated Western Kitsch Factory that seems to supply all the souvenir shops.
2.9 old notes here, not an old beer, or atleast it seemed fresh. golden in color with a better than expected sweet and floral nose. the flavor is pretty one dimensional but crisp and clean."
2.7 Draft at the brewery\brewpub in boulder. Very cool spot . Poi ours a gold color crisp easy drinking. Had on cask too. Decent
2.9 On tap: The aroma consists of light cereal/grainy notes with a touch of honey. It’s a transparent gold with a small white head that quickly fades to a thin film. There is a solid sheet of lacing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of honey. The finish has light grain, cereal, grass, and a hint of lemon peel. It’s light bodied with soft carbonation and mouthfeel.
3.1 12 oz. Clear orange-golden with a lasting film of cream. Aroma of spicy dry grass, grain and sourish caramel apple. Tastes of toasted cereal, honey, sourish apple and dry grass. Light-medium body has medium carbonation and is to the sweet side.
3.2 Bottle. Clear, golden color with a medium head. Aroma is a yeasty bread smell with very light hints of fresh fruit. Taste is very well balanced with a bread flavor.
3.5 bottle into glass, gold clear pour with white head, malty aroma and taste, nothing special, but not bad
3.2 On tap poured a clear golden hue w/ large frothy white head diminishing to a lasting thin cap. Medium straw aroma. Initial flavor is light sweet w/ a moderate bitter finish. Tastes are straw and grass. Medium bodied and creamy mouthfeel.
2.8 Decent blond ale. Golden color, buffalo head .... joke. Head is medium. Drinkable. Taste of hops and malt. MAybe more hoppy than malty.
3.5 The appearance has a large white head and a clear golden color, and the aroma blends rich yet light malts and a light but grassy hop note. The taste is mildly sour, slightly bitter and a touch sweet, and the maltiness is apparant throughout this beer. The palate fuses an average carbonation, slick texture, medium-heavy body, and a lightly malty finish.
3.1 Reviewed from notes. The appearance has a light golden yet clear yellow body with a one finger white foamy head that quickly dissipates leaving some slightly thick clingy lacing that spiderwebs a bit. The smell has a mostly sweet maltiness goin’ on with a light corn in the background. The taste is sweet all the way through the malts, corn and adding a bit of breadiness. There is a corn aftertaste with sweet finish. On the palate, its about a light, and is sessionable. Carbonation is accurate for the style and is good for me. Overall, this is a good American Blonde Ale, most likely better with food with a decent refreshing aspect to it.
3.0 May rate low by others but this is a golden ale and appropriate for the style. Aroma is mild American hops and caramel malts. Flavor is mild but with biscuity, caramel flavors and mild hop bitterness. Overall it is an easy drinking craft ale targeted towards entry level consumers but is still respectable for true craft beer aficionados.
2.5 Draft. It wasn’t bad, really because I had 3 pints during a christmas party. One should not judge beer during a party, so, as an example of why not, I two point five it.
2.1 12oz. Btl. Pours Amber, fizzy and little to no froth. Taste is bitter and flat. Aroma is minimum, but present. Palate is flat and the finish is dry. Overall; very respectable beer.
2.4 Bottle from Total beverage Westminster. Pours golden with a thin white head. nothing on the nose. A little bit of oilyness on the tongue. Otherwise there’s not much there. It does finish clean. More Meh! than Eh!
3.1 Poured from draft at Denver airport. Golden and clear. Sweet taste. Grains and light. Easy drinking.
2.8 October 2010. From bottle. Golden color with a white head. aromas of malt, corn, grass and light fruit. Clean and crisp.
2.1 bottle. golden with small head. there’s some light sweetness and corn, but the overall flavor is not good. something is off here
3.2 On tap. Heady golden yellow pour. The waitress in the hotel where I had this told me there were air bubbles in the tap line. Mild caramel malt and biscuit nose. The body is light to medium with a vague acidity. The taste has a toasted maltiness and a low but clean hop finish.
2.7 December 30th, 2011 - Running on the heels of my first Boulder Beer taster is the Buffalo Gold Premium Ale of the same brewery. Pale gold and clear in color, a slight head resolves into the liquid, leaving little to no smell - a muted graininess that offers little for my nose to explore. The same goes for the taste - transparent with some mineral water cleanliness and directness, but otherwise flat, and tasting a bit like corn and corn tortillas. Not much here - hoping the next taster is an improvement.
