3.0It's a fine copper ale. Instead of pretending to be a critic, an anecdote: I work at Oskar Blues and a truck driver came in for a delivery. He seemed shocked, "How come it smells nice and sweet in here? Not just stale like Budweiser." We have malts, hops, and real stuff. Not just water.
3.416 ounce pint - $5.75 at Taco Mac in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Orange-copper brew, clear, with a just under an inch of not-quite-white foam.
Smell: Bready, biscuity malts, a little bit of citrus present, even lighter herb hints, and a low yeasty tone.
Taste: Biscuity, light pale malt. A little sugar cookie sweetness, falling short of a mild caramel taste. A light orange accent, minor spice/herb vibe. Medium-light bitterness. The finish is dry and fairly clean.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Overall: Not particularly malty, not really all that hoppy. While not bad, Singletrack is rather one-note.
2.9Tap at Denver airport. Poured a clear copper colour with a frothy white head and some lacing. The aroma is metallic hop. The flavour is medium bitter with a hoppy weak liquorice watery palate. A poor Amber Ale with no real character.
2.2Draft at a bar in Denver airport. Pours clear amber with an off white head. Aroma of malt, citrus, a little metallic. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and bitter. Light bodied with light carbonation. Just boring really.
3.3On tap at the Denver airport. Pours a clear gold with an amber hue and a near what head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has notes of bread and grain with a hint of grassy hops. Flavor starts with a nice grass and sweet grain combination with a a hint of toffee.
2.9Draft at Boulder tap room DIA. Pours copper with a half inch of white foam. Not much on the nose. The malt has slight copper and nut notes. Finishes clean. Quaffable without being memorable.
3.0Some bar in Denver: Pours amber with a quickly dissipating head from tap. Aroma is caramel malts, orange citrus, and flowery hops. Taste is somewhat sweet. Very much not bitter. Easy to chug and drink in large quantities. Not particularly exciting.
3.2September 2010 from bottle. Amber color with caramel, nut and earthy aromas. Buttery sweet flavors with malt and light fruit.
3.1Clear amber body under a tall mostly white head.
Very light malt aroma.
Very light flavor that is slightly more sweet than bitter.
A bit of astringency in the finish.
2.6December 24th, 2012 - Amber Ales don’t always excite me, but they can be good accompaniment to food or parties. And the photo I took of this beer for my notebook says this is exactly the case. Christmas decorations crowd the background, filled with bodies and plates of food. So, maybe this was the ideal environment for the Copper. By itself I worry that it’s simply too anemic. A little nuttiness and cedar comes off in the smell, lighter than a full, caramel rich red ale, but still aromatic. But the flavor is on the weaker side, mirroring Fat Tire with a nutty, slightly dank flavor, and a thinner palate. Pair this with lighter foods or even appetizers, but if it’s Christmas time, there might be better ways to celebrate with something more generous with flavor and complexity (and intensity, should that be a better present for your tastes.)
December 30th, 2011 - After a long day of trekking around Boulder, soaking up beer and jotting down notes, a late dinner was very necessary. So, of course, we selected to eat some grub at Boulder Brewery, where I sat down for a mediocre burger, and another flight of brews. Beginning before the meal was a sample of Boulder Beer’s Singletrack Copper Ale, a simple, parsimonious, and somewhat boring amber ale. The smell is muted - a combination of a day’s worth of assaulting my senses, but also a low-key aroma. The palate is distinguished by a masking foaminess, and a general flavorless which does nothing for my appreciation of the beer or for the meal.
2.5Copper in color with an average off-white head. Aroma is of leaves, overripe oranges, dough. Taste is dough, nuts, leaves.
2.8Bottle. The look is clear, thin white head, and copper in color. The smell is malt, caramel, sweet, grainy, and fruit. The taste is grain, sweet, weak, and blah.
3.4on tap at O’Niell’s. Amber in color with spare rocky white head. Sparkling body. Aroma is mostly of caramel malt. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Lightly sweet and moderately bitter, I found this to be fairly well balanced. Sharp and abrupt flavors draw attention to the characteristics of this beer. I enjoyed it.
2.7From tasting notes. Bottle. Pours amber with a small white head. Sweet caramel malt aroma with a hint of fruits. Flavors of caramel malt, fruits and a touch of grapefruit hops. Slightly hoppy finish.
2.9Draught. Orangey brown pour foamy white head. Malts caramel and hops. Nothing special.....
3.0Tap at MSP. Aroma of bread, yeast, peach, caramel, and some floral hops. Taste is okay.
2.8Tap. Pours clear, bright amber with average, fizzy off-white head; decent retention and good lacing. Aroma is funk, caramel malt, dough, floral hops, barnyard notes, and light citrus. Flavor is dry, breast malts, light fruit esters, grassy hops, funk, and some astringentcy; dry finish. Light body and medium carbonation.
2.912oz bottle, best by 7/10/12... Got it 3 days ago, from Party Source. Clear yellow / orange / amber color. Some particles floating in the body. Good thin white head, leaves decent lace. Musty, mettalic mashy smell. Smells like the inside of a small brewery, kind of. Medium body, smooth light carbonation. Bitter taste, light sweet. Decent copper ale, as it is. 5/3/6/4/11
2.9Bottle. Nice amber color. Nice head some lace. Watery, citrus aroma. Rather weak, hoppy taste.
2.83 oz draft sample pours amber with a off white head. Aroma of malt, grass and yeast. Taste is the malts and a hint of hops.

2.6Drank at Old Chicago. Really not much to say. Average beer, average taste, easy to drink but not memorable.
2.3Pours hazy amber with a small off-white head.
Scent is slightly spiced bread.
Taste is metallic bitter, slightly sour citrus and caramel.
Some hop bitter.
Below average taste....a little unbalanced.
3.2Generic and relatively bland. Pours copper with a decent head. Aroma of peach and bread with a flavor that favors the breadiness more than fruits.
2.8Pours a clear orange with a small white head. Aroma of sweet malt and light grassy hops. Flavor of sweet malt, herbs and citrus.
3.0On tap at local restaurant, pours a clear amber with spotty lacing, the aroma actually had a decent amount of hops with some caramel and malt, the flavor was pretty disapointing compared to the aroma, some light caramel and malt with a finish of a metal like finish, ugh.
3.4This is good. On tap at Global Brew. Pours a clear golden with a nice white head. Malt a sweatsock aroma. I know that sounds gross, but in this case it isn’t. Nice biscuity vanilla wafer and sweet malt taste. Some tartness. Really good!
2.9Had on tap.
Arrived a slightly hazy light copper with little head.
Aroma was somewhat sweet and malty with a little bit of caramel and citrus.
The flavor was quite toasted and I though I detected some rye in there. There was an underlying citrus note but it was hard to tell if it was from the hops or the yeast possibly. A moderate bitterness and a clean finish.
Overall, I thought this was an ok beer but far from great. Not sure I would really seek it out again.
3.1Draft at Old Chicago. Lots of caramel and a little citrus hop bitterness. Decent beer overall, thought I would really like to try the BA version of it.
3.4Aroma is yeast, fruit and malts. The flavor is sweetish malts, strawberries and a smooth finish.
