Boulder Beer Sweaty Betty Blonde

Boulder Beer Sweaty Betty Blonde

5th Release in the Looking Glass Series of beers!
Sweaty Betty Blonde is a refreshing, unfiltered Bavarian-style Hefeweizen. The Weihenstephan yeast gives this brew subtle hints of clove and banana with an attractive, hazy blonde color. For the best flavor, rouse any settled yeast by swirling the bottom of the bottle.

2.7 Bottle at home. Clear yellow pour with fluffy white head. Faint over ripe banana and yeast in the nose. A bit underhopped on the finish, which has a fruity sweetness. Light all around.
5.0 Very enjoyable, not bitter, not to heavy, great unfiltered beer, one of the best, great taste
2.9 Cloudy brown yellow with little head is scarily toilet-like and one of the ugliest drinks I have ever seen. Aroma is tangy wheat and yeasty bread. Flavor seems like a gose but without the coriander, salt, or sourness. A little honey and a little banana.
2.5 there’s a weird mix of musty, sweetness, and bittering hops in the nose, and a little in the flavor. this has more going on than most blondes, but is a slight miss with the sum of the parts. not bad, but average or below for a wheat beer as well, and easily Boulder’s weakest offering that I’ve tried."
3.4 Thanks Brenda. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a soft golden orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a good minute leaving some light lacing all around the glass. The smell started off with a sweet grainy wheaty citrusy aspect. The taste was basically the same with a strong sweet orange aftertaste that led to a slightly watery finish (however, it seemed like a good watery). On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a good sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed a bit more there than expected but that could be due to the fact that the wheat seemed a bit more subdued. Overall, if anything, this one definitely is a Summer beer as its fairly refreshing for the most part.
3.6 Appearance is the best thing about this beer. Poured at a good temperature with a long-lasting off-white head, lots of lace, And a clear yellow color. Aroma is fruit yeast and grain. Flavor is Lake knows plus has good carbonic tang not overly sweet, tho are not very complex. Buddy is okay but a touch on the watery side. Not a bad beer overall.
3.2 Pours slightly hazy pale straw, two finger rocky head, thin lacing. Aroma wheat malt, fruity esters, noble hops. Taste rich wheat malt, slight bready, on the sweet side, fruity esters, noble hips in background. Mouthfeel medium body, high carbonation, sweet finish. Overall tasty, not great, but solid fir the style, a bit too high abv to be a session beer.
3.1 Transfer from BA review on 8-4-12- Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance –Pours a lightly hazed golden color with a one finger head. The head fades slowly over time to give a fair amount of lacing. Smell – The aroma was heaviest of bread with lighter notes of caramel and some yeast. Mixed with this was a very light lemon citrus hop aromas as well as some banana. Taste – The taste begins with a sweeter malt taste with strong caramel and wheat tastes. As the flavor advances the sweetness fades slightly with notes of a lemon hop flavor coming to the tongue. This takes the taste to the end were it mixes with yeast and banana flavors to leave a satisfying flavor on the tongue. Mouthfeeel – The brew was on the average side in body with a medium level of carbonation. Both are fitting for the flavors but nothing spectacular. Overall –Very easy drinking, but a little subtle and boring for the most part.
3.0 Bottle to pint. Enjoy by 10/22/14. Looks solid; definitely more like a wheat ale than a blonde ale though. A hazy lemon gold with white head that steadily dissipates into thin lacing. Smells of wheat and citrus (mainly orange). A hefe presence on the nose as well. Tastes like it smells with an average, medium-bodied mouthfeel. Not bad, but forgettable. And is it a blonde ale, a wheat ale, or a hefeweizen?
3.5 Good summer wheat beer, similar to blue moon. Carbonation might be a little higher. Sweet beer and fruity. I got in a sample pack. Worth a try.
3.0 Draught at the office. Hazy golden color, white head. Bittersweet taste with citrus, peach, wheat, grass and banana. Bittersweet finish with citrus, banana and wheat. Good, refreshing wheat ale.
3.0 Bottle. Golden, slightly cloudy. Large head. Aroma is slightly clove with a hay overtone. Taste is spicy, slightly sweet aftertaste.
2.3 Part of a six-pack sampler at Yard House Virginia Beach. They mislabeled it "sweety Betty", so imagine my surprise! I’m liking wheat beers less and less, and this didn’t help. Sweat describes the initial flavor.
2.7 A pretty standard, nothing special summertime session beer. Lots of grass/wheat on the flavor as you might imagine. Looks like a macro with a slightly stiffer head.
2.2 330 ml bottle in Coconut Creek, FL. Pours a cloudy yellow color, white head. Aroma is clove, banana, and acid. Taste is a fruity citrus. Spritzy palate, medium bitterness.
2.2 Old tick. Draft. Verylight tasting brew, no real redeemable characteristics, good for summer.
2.8 Had this on draft at boulder beer in Denver airport. Yellow Florecent color. Standard hefe. Mild bitterness and fruity juicy taste. Meh
3.2 12 oz bottle into a pint glass at One World Cafe. Gold and pretty clear with a white head, mostly dissipating. Fruity esters, wheat malts, Belgian yeast, clove, banana and herbs. Light bitterness and mild sweetness with an average body. Not bad at all, pretty refreshing.
2.0 I don’t particularly enjoy wheat beers, so there was a low ceiling to begin with, but this was pretty run-of-the-mill and there was nothing to really separate it from the pack. Watch the 6-second review: http://teamchug.com/?p=765
2.9 Light golden pour with a smallish head, little lacing. Wet wheat aromas with some citrus, weak yeasts. A bit thin, taste of wet weak malts, light malts, lemons. Passable, but weak."
3.2 10/13/2010. On tap at the brewery. Pours cloudy straw yellow with a white head. Aromas of citrus, malt, bread and spice. A little tart, but refreshing.
3.2 12oz. Btl. Pours light yellow, hazy and lightly fizzy. Taste is wisen like and citrus notes dominates the palate. Although somewhat flat, I think it meets the intent. Good beer.
3.8 Botle into glass...hazy yellow pour with white thin head... fruity malty aroma..taste is similar..not bad
4.0 Poured from 12 oz bottle into St Bernardus chalice. Pours a yellow straw with bubbly head. Aroma of honey, amber malts, straw hops, bread dough. Modest carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of light malts, sweet malts, honey, straw hops, floral hops, light banana, citrus, spices. Overall tasty and easy to drink for an American blonde wheat.
2.7 Appearance: light yellow, seems like a very faint haze on it, medium white head that is moderately dense, Aroma: lemon, bread, wild almost, Taste: bread, lemon, some slight hoppy grass Palate: slightly lower than average carbonation, not much aftertaste, but possibly lemon, frothy Overall: very pleasantly surprised, more of a hefeweizen than a blonde, I'd call it a subtle hefeweizen
3.0 bottle. light gold with small head. wheat beer with slightly tartness. otherwise, it could use an infusion of extra flavor. pretty boring, but inoffensive.
2.8 12oz bottle. Pours a hazy yellow color with a thin white head. Aroma of bananas, a little bit of citrus, and faint spices. Taste was a little bit of banana and citrus, and some bready malt, but not much else.
3.4 Very nice aroma. Light hints of banana and grains. Pleasant but not strong flavor wheat beer. I enjoyed it.
2.7 Pours hazy yellow with a white head that hangs around Smells like bananas with a little bit of citrus. Very pleasant smell. Taste was a bit of a let down. Not as much favor as the smell would suggest. Maybe It was a bad keg. A little bit of banana and citrus but not much. Palate-Next to no carbonation. Overall- A big let down. I got it from a bar that offered a ton of different beers to maybe it was a stale keg but I probably wont try this again.
2.2 I usually like a wheat ale, not this one. Draft, aroma of yeast, cooked vegetables. Strong taste of yeast, not balanced. A heavy clove bitter taste. Thin, watery mouthfeel finish.
