Boulevard Amber Ale

Boulevard Amber Ale

Boulevard Amber Ale is an exceptionally well-balanced beer, complex yet thirst-quenching. American pale malt provides a firm foundation. English specialty malts impart a nutty sweetness, perfectly complemented by noble German hops. The deep coppery color holds the light, reflecting a ruddy glow, and the finish is clean, round, and delicious.

3.0 woohoo, rating no. 10! Bready, malty, perhaps biscuity. Caramel notes, good beer for converting friends not accustomed to craft beer. Gotta start somewhere!
3.1 Bottle. Pours an amber color with off white head. Malty, caramel, nutty aromas. Nutty, malty, toffee flavors. A pretty average beer.
3.2 Pours a hazy orange/amber with a decent off white head. Malt and grass aroma. Taste is sweet malt, caramel and a butteriness. Only a slight bit of hop bitterness after the swallow. Tastes good and is well balanced, though a little on the thin side. Wish there was more flavor to it. A good session beer anyway.
1.3 Bottle. Pour is light, clear amber with a medium white head. Aroma is light caramel malt and a ton of bready yeast. Flavor is bready yeast and faint oxidation. Wow, not too good.
3.1 Bottle into glass.. Pours brown, some haze,.. White head.. Aroma is straight fruit..good flavor, well balanced, pretty impressed for an amber
2.0 Pours a hazy yet rich red amber with a frothy white head. Aroma is of light caramel, maybe nutty. Lightly sweet with a lightly bitter twinge. Light bodied with average carbonation, a tad oily in the mouth with a surprisingly smooth finish.
4.0 caramel, roasty, dough, brown, orange, hazy, white foam, light sweetness, lightly bitter, light body, thin feel, average carbonation,
2.5 Bottle. Tastes burnt, sort of soapy and a bit like artificial fruit. Not very good.
2.8 Sweet, fruity caramel aroma, hint of cherry. Dark orange color, minor lacing. Sweet taste, almost wine like with mild bitter contrast. Not getting any nutty notes. Sugar heavy amber beer, below the brewer’s usually impeccable standards.
3.3 12 oz. bottle. Pours amber and shows a tight soapy off white head that fades to a film. Aroma is English malt and subtle vegetable. Taste is more English malt and gentle spice with some sweetness as well. Palate is medium fizzy and dry.
2.8 Aroma is a sweet malt. Taste is a pretty bland bready malt. Overall pretty average.
3.1 Bottle. Floral apricot, tea-like malt aroma. Hazy amber with a large tan head, decent lacing. Nutty, slightly sweet malt flavor. Light body, moderate carbonation. Both aroma and flavor were a bit on the light side.
3.2 bottle. deep amber with two finger head. sweet and nutty. slightly thin, but pretty good overall.
3.6 12oz bottle. Another winner from Boulevard. Kind of similar to the pale ale, I think. Little lacing on this one, tan head with deep copper coloration, translucent, almost clear. I agree with the "nutty" taste and sweet finish, great aftertaste, in fact. Top notch for the style.
4.0 A nice marzen style ale. The few I have had tasted a little bland from what I expected but may have been due to beer age
3.0 12 oz bottle: Appearance is a deep hazy brown with minimal head. Aroma is of slightly sweet malt. Taste is up front with a bit of caramel and loads of malt, but that’s it.
2.8 Poured a clear brown/amber with a slight head. Nose of very faint malt that followed in the mouth. Really very average.
3.2 Copper pour with a thin white head that hangs around as a film. Sweet caramel bready aroma. Tate is nutty with some caramel and bread. Slight bitterness in the finish. Pretty decent all around.
3.1 Aroma is malty and floral. Pours an amber orange color with a nice white head. Taste is sweet with malts, grain, and a little bit of citrus.
3.0 Pours between orange and copper with average head and lacing. Smell is yeast and bready caramel malts. Flavor is bready malt with smoother finish. Not much hops. Straight-to-the-point brew - good with light dinner fare, like pasta with chicken and mixed vegetables.
2.8 Reddish hue, thin off white head. Light tasting with notes of malt barley and caramel. Good finish as well.
3.2 Pours clear amber with a lot of fluffy off-white head. Aroma is dark fruits, citrus hops and dust. Flavor is mostly sweet dark fruits and citrus with a slightly nutty flavor. A bit thin but still pretty good
3.9 Lovely dark red-copper color. Spicy-hop nose with some toasted malts. Just a light touch of caramel malt in the taste, pleasant spicy-hop taste and moderate bitterness over light sweetness. Finishes dry. An excellent drinking beer.
2.6 Poured into a pint glass. Hazy copper color with a tight finger of head. Mild malt smell. Honey, light bitterness... and nothing else. Light body, crisp and refreshing. Nothing much going on here. Easy enough to drink and I would choose it over the macros, but not much else going for it.
3.1 The aroma starts with hints of bread, nuts, and a floral note. Pours a clear reddish-amber, with a full white head. Apple notes come out in the beer itself, with a touch of nuts and floral hops in the finish. Light on the palate, and drinkable, nothing out of the ordinary.
3.0 12 oz. from Chuck’s. Unimpressive amber that tastes a little mealy. Label copy touts additional yeast added at bottling to add complexty. Not sure I believe them.
2.6 12oz bottle poured into shaker. Best by date of 3/3/12 Aroma: Caramel, hay, roasty, coffee, grass, floral, leaves, dark fruits Appearance: coppery pour with very little head that faded quickly. fairly clear until yeast was poured in from end of bottle Taste: medium sweet, light sour, extremely light bitter Palate: medium body, thin texture, average carbonation. slightly bitter finish. bit of a sour twang in the finish also Overall: Bottle was past the best by date by a few weeks. DIdn’t do much for me. Aroma was decent as was the taste but the palate seemed off. I could drink this but probably wouldn’t pick it again. Poured the end of the bottle into my glass to get some of the yeast. Seemed to improve the palate a bit. Still not very impressed.
3.0 Amber-red, short off white head. Slightly cloying fruit scent....malt. Taste is mild malt, subtle hops, apple peel, light, smooth, slightly metallic. Very clean, easy tasting beer...pleasant.
4.3 Pours light amber with an off-white head. Smells is a little malty, toasted biscuits with a touch of nuttiness. Taste is of sweet malts, nutty, and just sweet. Light-to-medium bodied with a wet texture and mild mouth-carbonation, Boulevard Amer Ale finishes with a hint of sweetness.
3.2 Deep hazy red with a fluffy head that faded quickly. Mild aroma, perhaps a light apple scent. Medium carbonation and a nice coppery taste which lingers on the tongue. Definite apple on the end. Quite nice.
