This abbey-style quadrupel is a dark, storng ale separated into oak bourbon barrels to age for various lengths of time, some for up to three years. Cherries are added to make up for the "angel's share" of beer lost during barrel aging. Selected barrels are blended for optimum flavor. Warm and toasty with aromas of bourbon, oak and vanilla, Bourbon Barrel Quad also retains a hint of tart cherry with caramel notes.

4.1Reddish brown with a high urgent beige head, fine and active crackling. Net aromas of Bourbon, oak, caramel, dry and candied fruits, vanilla. Taste is similar, wooded and Bourbon well insistent, vanilla with roasted, cherry-prune, caramel-molasses, dry fruits and hint of coconut. Delectable finish, earthy bitter and power of alcohol.
3.5Flaska vintage 2013
Rödbrun.
Doftar vanilj och mörk frukt.
Tunn för alkoholhalten, sträv, söt. Smak av lakrits, plommon och karamell.
3.633cl fles. Tweeschijn amber van kleur, fijne romige creme schuimkraag. De geur is karamel en gedroogd fruit. Smaak is zoet, whisky, sinaasappel en gedroogd fruit. Medium body en veel koolzuur.
3.6Bottle. Light caramel aroma, with some barrrel, alc. fumes, and candied fruit. Light copper color. Caramel, cherries, some wood, and bourbon. Medium-heavy body. This is okay, but not really as good as I had expected it would be. Not sure whether the barrel-age process added to or detracted from the flavors of the base quad beer.
3.512 ounce bottle in Kent Ohio. Smell some sweetness. Cloudy, brown sugar in color with slight orange tint. Slight bourbon in taste. Smooth. Taste some Belgium yeast and sugar also. Bourbon aftertaste. Interesting quad! Cheers!
3.512oz bottle. Pours amber - bordering on mahogany - with a medium beige head. Aroma is bourbon, vanilla, oak, and a little dried cherry. Taste is bourbon, spicy Belgian yeast, fruitcake, caramel, toffee, oak, dried fruit, and light raisin. Medium+ body. Medium carbonation. Airy-foamy mouthfeel.
3.6Keg at salthorse. Pours deep amber, nose is coconut, vanilla, caramel, taste is similar, sweet, malty, quite thin.

4.10,33l bottle @ G Livelab, Helsinki. Hazy mid brown, bit red beer with small but stable head. Aroma is strong with bourbon, oak, wood, vanilla and berries. Wonderful! Flavor has malts, berries, oak, wood, whiskey. Full body, very nice!
4.211.2 ounce bottle poured into a pint glass. The beer is a clear copper color with a big head of beige foam. Strong head retention. The aroma has lots of sugary fruit and strong Barrel notes. Oaky and boozy. Sweet and woody throughout. Bigger body and medium carbonation.
3.4Bottle. Pours reddish-brown with light tan head. Cherry, raisin, vanilla, and maple aroma with some alcohol. Vanilla, cherry, and raisins. Finish dries out a bit with a touch of alcohol.
3.612 oz bottle. Pours a clear amber brown with a big off-white head. Huge bourbon scents with malt and nuttiness underneath. Tastes overwhelmingly of bourbon almost as if it were a bourbon and soda. Dry mouthfeel and no noticeable alcohol warmth. Good if you like bourbon (which I do.)
4.2Reddish, very large head, frothy, ripe fruits, malty, oaky, sugary, cherry, full-bodied
4.012 ounce bottle. Pours an unclear brown with a thin light tan head that lasts. Taste is of bourbon, oak, dark fruit, raisins and malt. Has a similar, bourbon and wood forward aroma. Has a full body with a creamy and slight alcohol finish. Quite excellent. Has a high abv, but doesn't drink like it. Will pick up again.
3.808Sep2019 Sweet grain and cereal malts, molasses, caramel, sweet oak, bourbon. Hazy brown, medium, creamy, off-white head. Light sweet. More sweet grain and cereal malts, molasses, oak, bourbon, soft carbonation, full bodied. Nice, but lacks complexity. Bottle from St. Gambrinus Beer Shoppe.
3.8Aroma of fresh ripe fruit, cherries, vanilla and bourbon. A very complex but balanced taste. Oak, bourbon, vanilla, cherries, plum and a huge alcohol kick straight in the teeth! If this doesn’t keep you warm in the cold winter nights, nothing will.
3.5Bottle @ Friends/Dr Yeast. Appearance: pours slightly hazy copper with low off-white soapy head and lacing. aroma/taste: barley, brown sugar, light chocolate, light bourbon, alcohol, light vanilla, light cherries, light liquorice, marmalade and dried fruit. palette: medium malty and bourbon aroma, low carbonation, medium body, medium to notable sweetness, somewhat balanced by a medium bitterness, average to long duration and an oily texture. overall: well balanced bourbon aged dark ale
3.7Bottle, 355 ml, courtesy of Tomica. Shared with him and Max. Brown with beige head. Caramel, malty, sweet. Lots of carbonation. Bourbon. Medium sweetness. Warming. Bit boozy, alcohol in finish. Full bodied.

With A & Littles cooking steaks and bearing the end of Scandal.
Nose is dense Belgian yeast, dark fruit and some oakiness.
Flavor is big with lots of oak, clove yeast, candied cherries and a big smack of booze. Very reminiscent of a hold red wine actually. Decently sweet.
Palate is light, fluffy and easy to drink. Smoothest barrel aged beer I've had.
Overall, WOW. I'm amazed that they managed to get the Bourbon flavors while maintaining the delicate Belgian flavors. Phenomenal brew!
4.2Wow - very tasty massive beer. Well balanced with flavors of bourbon, alcohol burn, heavy malt, and some residual sweetness. Nice stuff here, and happy to have sampled it in KC.
4.1Bottle. Sweet cherry and bourbon aroma. Pours a cloudy dark brown colour with a mid-sized light brown head. Fair amount of sediment. Sweet malty flavour with notes of cherries, spice, bourbon and caramel. Medium to full bodied. Sweet malt finish with plenty of alcohol warming at the end.
4.012oz bottle at home, vintage 2017. Hazy dark amber brown with a lasting thin beige head. Dark sweet malt, caramel, vanilla, cherries, bourbon, oak, spice, molasses, alcohol. Low carb, full body. Sweet oak, warming boozy finish. Excellent.
4.5This is a good beer. The bourbon flavor mixes excellently with the sweetness of the quad. I just wish I could figure out a way to open a bottle without having it foam out thereof.
3.0Clear bourbon notes, taste. even but undistinctive brown / stout
3.9Bottle from Alko. Non-transcluent dark amber with ash white head. Booze, oak, bourbon, vanilla, rum, raisin. Slightly sour, oak and vanilla, a hint of char. Full body with slightly sticky palate. Interesting but very, very bourbon BA.
3.8A good quadrupel with a somehow light taste despite barrel ageign. There’s a hint of vanilla in the taste too. Looks great!
3.6Appearance: Dark brown, cloudy. Generous, light tan head.
Aroma: Malt, barrel, dark fruits, sweetness.
Taste: Dark malt, barrel, bourbon. Wet wood, slight alcohol. Some sweetness.

5.0Absolutely delicious. Smooth and pleasant, everything balanced. Honestly, it’s so complex I have a hard time picking out individual flavors in the nose. If anything I can pick out the bourbon cask and some fruit.
