Based on our beloved Tank 7, this astonishing saison is assertively dry-hopped with Amarillo, Calypso and Citra hops, then bottle conditioned with Brettanomyces, a strain of wild yeast that imparts a distinctive earthy quality. Warm cellared for three months, the Brett character is deliciously apparent on release, but it’s just getting started.

Stole some of Sarah’s at Jack Brown’s pint night.
Very similar to the Tank 7 but with a weird earthy/dirt funk to it. Seems really well-made but I think I’m not a fan of the barnyard flavor from the Brett yeast.
4.0750ml corked & caged bottle - all to me!!! Slightly hazy gold, huge fluffy lasting white head, nice and bubbly (what - doesn't look like JUICE??? wha'sss wrong widdit?) Spicy Belgian golden ale aroma, floral and funky - lovely, lovely aroma. Taste follows - less funk, a little more fruit - still wonderful. Airy, astringent, medium dry, spicy floral/funky finish. ALL MINE!!!!!!
3.8Bottle split at 36 Levels Lost, thanks to Danny, 17/04/18.
Hazed golden with an expansive off white covering.
Nose is funk, ripe melon, grass, ripe citric, green berry jizz.
Taste comprises greenguage, funk, big bretty ballsacks, damp hay, light spice, farmyard, lemon tinged.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
Solid saison work.
4.3Nice Saison, definitely a repeat buy. Another great choice from boulevard
4.0Bottle shared at the Columbus tasting 17/04/2018. Many thanks! A attractive, light hazed bright orange coloured pour with a rocky white head. Aroma is nice sweet bretty, pineapple, saison yeast, straw. Flavour is composed of mellow brett, pineapple, straw, tangerine. Paalte is soft, bready, airy carbonation, . Really nice.
4.1Bottle. Nose is floral funk, brett, leathery, floral, soapy. Taste is powerful brett, soft leather, saison yeast, parma violets, pefume, pear drop. Mouth feel is full.
Really superb beer I very much enjoyed.
4.0This is a great beer. Pours light amber with huge long lasting pure white head. Mine was a 2014 that I drank in April 2018 and the Brett was nicely developed without overpowering. The slightly sour perfectly balanced the fruity dominant. Gotta find more!
3.717Apr2018 Bitter straw, grass, citrus fruits orange peel, spices, barnyard. Hazy, pale gold, massive, frothy, white head. Light bitter. More zesty, bitter citrus fruits, orange peel, barnyard, sweet grain and cereal malts, soft carbonation, medium bodied. Decent. Bottle shared at L6 tasting - thanks to The_Osprey!
4.62013 release - stored for 4 years in the celler. 4100 cases produced (says on the bottle). Beautiful dark golden color. Massive white, small bubbled head. In the nose at first place bretts - right away. Bready and peppery aromas, quite funky. Belgian yeast, some white papper, some citrus tiny bit of pineapple, cloves, even some vanilla - very complex. After first sip, first comes some sweetness, then some funkyness, slight souress-tart, then proper bitterness which comes from the fact that beer is really dry. All the tastes which are present in the aroma are even more present in taste. Extremely complexed, exttremely well balanced. Medium to high carbonation. Long dry and again complexed finish. Probably one of the best beers I've ever had. Just perfect bretty saison.
4.027-03-18 // shared with the local crew, thanks! Hazy yellow. Funky nose. Dry grainy, brett funky farmhouse. Mild fruitness. Very yeast forward. Lovely stuff.
3.92016 version from corked bottle (it popped with plenty of force behind it) in Belgian ale glass. Pours sunset yellow with billowing white head and aroma of fruity citrus, earthy Brett, aniseed. Quite tasty from the start with a dry finish, transformed a bit as it warmed
3.9750ml bottle from Oslo, at home shared with the BEAST, 10th March 18. Pours straw coloured beer with a slight haze, big fluffy white head. Aroma is Brett, lemon and malt. Taste is well balanced, good dose of Brett, but not over the top, malt, citrus, farmyard, honey. Really nice and drinks below the ABV.
4.2Pours cloudy gold with a medium white pillow. Aroma is sweet brett with citrus hops and light farmy. Taste is a nice dry palate with light sweetness and bitterness from the brett and hops. Great beer, should have bought more.
3.7March 2, 2018 - 5 year vertical from 2012 to 2016. 2012 bottle number 26345. Clear yellow pour with big head. Aroma was spicy, peppery, and fruity. Taste had lots of pepper and spice. There was light tartness and fruit as well. My rating is based on the 2012 bottle. Interesting that the older beers seemed to have more carbonation and more flavor.
3.7Vertical from Folty. 2012 Bottle (#26345), 2013 (on of 4,100 cases), 2014, 2015, and 2016. All allowed for 2 years for “best by”. Big white head on all. Tastes are similar across all bottles; however the spice gets bolder in the older batches as does the carb. 2015 has limited flavor notes. 2014 has good carbonation and broad flavor. 2012 is brighter than 2013. 2016 was missing the bottle neck label - maybe poor quality control on the glue. 2014 has warm spice notes. 2013 may be my favorite with some spice and some brighter notes. 2016 and 2015 have brighter fruit flavor. Spice is bolder on older bottles. More pepper in ‘12. ‘14 is brighter with more lemon and a subtle carb. 15 and 16 and softest and have a brighter note of fruit.
Aroma of pepper and spice with hints of citrus. Slight dry finish
Score above is based on 2013 (my favorite) but would apply to the rest.
3.8Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours hazy golden with white head. Aroma of lemon, horse stable, effervescent powder, apples, medicine, metallic. Tastes sweet with some bitterness. Dry mouth feel, highly carbonated.
3.9Big pop, the cork hit the roof! Pours a hazy orange with a big frothy head. Aroma has notes of ripe fruit, bubblegum, citrus zest, and peppery yeast. Tasting notes include tangerine, peach, crackers, and honey. Quite boozy, but still a great sipper.
3.9The aroma is a bit lacking for my taste regarding the superior quality of this beer. Although I am not a big fan of the sour-brett new trendy beers, this beer is a definite must try.
4.02016 bottle, just expired. My 200th saison on RateBeer. If this is, or any of them are. Big pop. Clear gold with a large white head that collapses to fat coat. Aroma funky crackery dough, nectarines, old citrus. Fullish bodied, high carbonation. Some toast, lots of stone fruit, some honey, bracken, spices. There's a mellowness to the toast and stone fruit and a coiled character to the spices and bracken that impose at the bitter end. Quite sweet but dries out with gripping Brett, still firm bitterness and little booze. A bit too strong really but there's plenty going on and a fair bit of finesse with it.
4.0Bottle. Slight hazy golden color, big frothy head. Aroma of some grainy malt, slight funky and bubblegummy brett, slight flowery hop. Soft bitterness, some bubblegummy sweetness. Good carbonation. Well balanced, good beer.
4.1Bottle from LCBO. Very nice. Spicy, herbal, floral, tart. Just a bit too pricey to get again.
3.6Flaska från 2013, bäst före passerat med nästan tre år (bf 2015-02). Liten gusher. Kanske inte förvånande med brett som stått länge. Mörk gulgrumlig vätska med högt vitt skum som håller i sig. Väldigt mycket brett både i doft o smak. Men håller fortfarande ihop snyggt. Tror inte det skulle bli bättre av att stå längre iaf, och skulle säkert för egen del gillat den något färskare.
3.6Pours a hazy golden colour from the 750ml bottle, giving a head that lasts forever because of the very active carbonation. Lacing is foamy, patchy all-around. Brett funk aromas with the earthiness. Eventually, citrus notes come out. The grapefruit show a little more in the taste, giving the Saison edge. Funky earthy notes are always in the background. Some decent dryness in the finish. Well done, but I like my Saison not funky. Merci.

3.9Good, but I was hoping for more. Anyway, golden color, foaming head. Nose is light, with pepper and other indistinct spice, some bretty funk, grassy. Flavor similar, a little hayloft funk, seemed sweetish at first but turned very dry, moderate bitterness. Subdued.
4.0(Bottle) Clear, pale orange body with an enormous white head that reduces into very stiff peaks and thick lace. Aroma is fruity and herbal. The flavor is moderately sweet with a semi-dry finish; citrus, pear fruit; herbal and spiced; slightly minty or medicinal. Medium body, smooth.
4.1Shared 2016 bottle. Gushing! Hazy golden to orange colour, frothy white head. Big, fresh aroma of pale fruits, hay, spice, peach, light citrus, lemon, flowers. Taste is light sweet and light+ bitter, of pale fruits, hay, spice, peach, minerals, light citrus, lemon, orange, light leather. Spice and fruits in the finish. Medium- body, quite lively carbonation. Really drinkable and refreshing. Overall very nice - extremely complex and very intense, with maybe a bit too high carbonation.
