Double-Wide I.P.A. uses Columbus and Magnum hops for both bittering and aroma with Chinook hops added in the whirlpool. It is dry hopped with generous amounts of Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook hops. The resulting beer has a hop forward aroma, redolent of peach and apricot. The assertive flavor bursts with the citrus qualities of blood orange and lemon with a slight caramel malt backbone to balance the intense hop flavor. There is little restraint in the flavor of this beer; it is certainly not for the pedestrian palate.

3.8Poured into an ipa glass. Deep orange in color with a light khaki head. While swirling the glass about I smell pine, juicy fruits, sweet caramel malt and just a touch of baked bread. Taste is exuberant, with resin, pineapple, green grapes, sweet turbinado sugar and just a touch of hop bite. The malt backbone is really firm which balances the hop profile well. Thuroughly impressed with this one. Well done Boulevard!
3.9Bottle. Wonderful juicy fruity aroma. Caramel taste with some pine notes, peach, booze, fairly sweet with some bitter hints only in the finish. Pretty good.
3.8Bottle shared with Brian at the house. Snifters. Pours a deep amber with haze and solid two finger head. Aroma is pine and slight fruity hoppiness, small amount of dark breads and malts, hint of paper. The taste is very well balanced with the pine, citrus hops and the malty finish. Hint of caramel after the fruity and pine hops hit you first. Moderate mouth and carbonation. Finish is slight bitter. Well done. Would love to try the brett version.
4.0Pours an opaque tea color with a healthy white head. Very smooth for the ABV and a great use of flavoring hops which is the way I like my IPAs. There is the typical grapefruit but also some lemon & orange fruits. The bitterness is well balanced & smooth. Great!
3.412oz bottle. Pours hazy copper with minimal head. Piney hop smell with some sweetness...maybe toffee? Taste same with dry bitter finish. Okay beer...not my style.
3.6Poured from a bottle with a best by date of 3/11/2015.
Aroma - not a whole lot on the aroma...hints of some tropical fruit and pine, but not nothing dominate.
Appearance - Orangish/reddish color to it. Slightly hazy.
Taste - for a DIPA, I almost got a black licorice taste to it. I enjoyed it.
Palate - Light bodied for DIPA...definitely has a nice after taste to it.
Overall - I enjoyed this beer, but missing aroma for me to give it an "A" beer.
3.9Bottle from WOB Ft. Myers. Pours a dark hazy red with a thick creamy head. Aroma is very rich mostly spruce with a bit of toasty malts. Body is light and wet with a bit of carbonation that makes an appearance at the back of the throat. Flavor is initially light which rises to a strong piney hop profile in the middle and fades nicely. The exhale is pretty mild but really highlights the depth of the flavor and makes you want to take another sip.
3.812 ounce bottle pours a cloudy copper color. With very nice off-white fluffy head that lasts long. Nice Pine and some sweet toffee aromas. Full-bodied with some alcohol burn. Pine dominates the hop flavor A bit harsh in the end. Not great.
3.112 Oz bottle. Pours hazy orange with a frothy white head. Aromas of citrusy hops and barnyard yeast. Flavor of piney and floral hops with sweet., honey flavored grain. Finishes with a citrusy hops linger and cloying sugars. Full body with a thick mouthfeel and mild carbonation. Overall, some nice flavors, but aroma is somewhat lacking.
2.8Orange looking with a firm head. Aroma is piney, slight hint of tropical fruits and malty. Sweet and bitter. Boring.
3.4Nice amber colour, good foam and a rich beautiful taste. High bitterness, almost no sweetness
4.6Pours hazy blood-orange. Hop forward aroma, redolent of peach and apricot. The assertive flavor bursts with the citrus qualities of blood orange and lemon with a slight caramel malt backbone to balance the intense hop flavor. Overall, an excellent DIPA, greatly balancing its 8.5% ABV with hops and malt.
3.1Bottle poured. Copper color with off white frothy head. Has a nutty malty aroma with citrus hops. Medium body and lightly carbonated. Starts off with a hint of sweetness but finishes very bitter. The bitter after taste sticks around for a long time.
3.4Bottle pour. Cloudy copper amber with a large creamy head. Hoppy aroma, with pine and some citrus. Creamy medium body. Pine and grass taste with a sharp, but quick aftertaste.
4.4Pours a murky amber with a thick egg shell head that left lacing throughout. There’s a citrus, apricot, and pine aroma. The taste was very well balanced, not too sweet or overly bitter. Flavor’s of citrus, apricot, grapefruit, pine, and caramel. Medium body that was creamy and chewy on the palate. Overall a very satisfying DIPA.
3.6Pours a hazy amber with a thin film. Nose of citrus and pine. Taste is somewhat sweet - lots of citrus, pretty smooth (would prefer slightly more bitterness), and a little syrupy. Pretty good.
3.7Another delightful smokestack beer. Citrus and perfume aroma. Lush body with notes of tropical fruit and subtle toasty malt. Easy finish with a touch of sweetness. A surprisingly easy drinking DIPA that still has a lot of flavor.
3.6Strong. Hoppy and syrupy. Tasty and dank. I don’t get much peach or apricot. Just delicious hops and malts. This is a delicious palate destroyer. As it warms up, the malts become thicker, almost chewy. I like this beer a lot. I will buy it again. It’s a tankard.
3.8thick amber color with a two finger creamy head, aroma is pine and citrus hops. flavor is citrus hops and other fruit flavors with sweet malts.
3.2Deep hazy amber color, golden head. Biscuits nose, brown sugar, caramel malt, resin, dried fruit. Grapefruit taste, resin, caramel, brown sugar, hint of alcohol, moderate bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation.
4.512oz bottle from ABC. Pours a beautiful golden brown with a frothy, robust, super long-lasting head with fantastic lacing. Aroma filled with piney hops and a slight touch of orange. Body is a deep, dark brown amber. Flavor is sweet and bitter, but not too much of either, with a similar finish. Medium body and a wonderfully creamy texture that sticks around after every sip. Acquire.
3.9Bottled. It?s pretty much exactly like the Brewers description on the label. Formidable.
4.0Flavorful brew with pine, orange, malts and a wee bit of citrus in good proportions. Long pleasant bitterness that does not take over. No alcohol in taste, although undoubtedly strong.
4.212 oz bottle. Pours hazy amber with creamy, off-white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of citrusy hops, orange marmalade, caramel and ripe fruit. Body is full, creamy and tangy. Caramel malt, citrusy hops, ripe fruit nicely balanced on the palate. Finish is long and bitter. Excellent brew.
3.8Bottle into snifter glass, cloudy golden-hued amber color with light tan head. Aroma of heavy fruity/grassy hops (citrus, peach, pine), dried fruits (apricots, figs), caramel malt and slightly herbal. Taste adds notes of bread, tropical fruity hops (grapefruit, pineapple, mango), resin, grain, brown sugar and light booze. Heavy body, moderate-low carbonation, sticky with sweet/citrus bitter finish. Very tasty complex heavy IIPA.

Poured from bottle into a snifter
Appearance – The beer pours a beautiful hazed orange-amber color with an almost ruby tint and with a massive head of an off white color. The head has a great level of retention, slowly fading to leave a moderate level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the beer is heaviest of hoppy aromas with a pine and grapefruit hop smell being the strongest. Tons of tropical fruit smells are there as well with a tangerine and mango base but with other fruit smells of melon, pineapple and a bit of berry in there as well. Along with these are some malty aromas of a slightly bready and doughy nature, mixing with the hop and sweet to produce quite a tasty smelling brew.
Taste – The taste begins with a more doughy flavor with a sweetness being mainly of a caramel nature there too. A moderately strong hop presence is there at the start as well, with it consisting mainly of a grapefruit flavor, but having some hints of pine mixed within. As the flavor advances the caramel sweetness begins to fade, but the brew actually gets a bit sweeter in nature due to, as the nose would of predicted, a tropical fruit flavor of tangerine, mango and papaya coming to the tongue. Along with the change of the sweet flavors of the brew, more hop flavors also come to the tongue. The grapefruit that was present upfront remains at the same strength, but the pine hop gains intensity and is furthermore joined by some grassy hop flavors. With the new fruit and hop flavors that come to the tongue and a little bit of an alcohol taste that comes at the very end of the taste, one is left with a rather pleasant and slightly warming fruity and well balanced flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average side in its thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the average to lower side. The slightly lower carbonation works quite well for coupling the sweeter fruit flavors to the blend of hops and doughy flavor with the medium body thickness playing a nice middle ground between the sweet and hop flavors of the brew.
Overall – This was a very enjoyable double IPA I must say. It had a nice balance between sweet fruitiness, hop, and breadiness/doughiness all while maintaining a rather smooth easy drinking style. Quite delicious.
3.2Fresh bottle. Pours clear gold/orange with white, foamy head. Aroma is orange zest, faint peach, fresh grass. Lots of citrus in the taste with some good caramel malt chew to it. A solid DIPA.
4.8This is a good one. A really good one. I didn’t know I was going into the damn pine forest. So much pine but not limited to that. Sweet peach and citrus comes through in the clutch to just assault your nostrils. So good. Tastes like straight up peach, citrus, tropical onion garlic soup. Amazing. Just super delicious. I’m excited about this one. This was a really good surprise. I picked it up because Boulevard wheat is a great wheat beer so I saw double IPA and had to have it. It’s totally worth it. Cheers!
3.4Bottle. Pours clear amber with a medium creamy white head that leaves little head. Aroma of malt and grass. Lightly bitter, light to medium body, average to lively carbonation, lightly rich body that leaves me wishing for more. No flavor of alcohol in a nicely balanced brew.
