This re-release of our 2011 Collaborations Series No. 2 White IPA brings back the unique marriage of a classic Belgian wittier to an American IPA. We enjoyed the experience so much the first time around that we happily pressed Control+C (Command+C for Mac), and Reboot was born. Version 2.0 has upgraded its spicy aroma, with hints of bubblegum and clove. Bold flavors will launch upon uncorking, as sage and lemongrass balance the tangy, zesty wheat malt profile. Rather than merely blending a wittier with an IPA, Reboot harmonizes distinctly fruity Belgian yeast overtones with big, fruity American hop notes by creating an herbal bridge between these two somewhat contradictory flavors. The beer’s complexity os supported by a spritzy effervescence, finishing dry, with lingering hop notes.

3.7At Cynthia’s thanks to Tyler. Pours orange with fluffy white head. Aroma is lemon orange coriander wheat. Taste is raw wheat, sweet orange juice. Finish is a little strong and flavorful for me.
2.7The beer had a cloudy appearance slightly orange the aroma was sweet with malt backbone overall not very good.
3.6Pour out of 750 mL bottle, hazy golden pour with fluffy white head, aroma brought notes of grass, spice, grainy notes into a bit of biscuit, bready notes with some nice grape, pear, peach notes, slight wheat notes with a hint of orange, grapefruit in there. Taste is a mix of grapefruit, orange, hints of peach, pear, wheat, hints of biscuit, bread, slight earth finishing fairly sweet, slightly dry.
3.8Draft at Whole Foods Charlottesville. Pours a clear golden color with a thin frothy off-white head. Aroma of citrus, spice, wheat and a bit of yeast in the finish. The taste is wheat, citrus, stone fruits, spice. Medium bodied, refreshing.
4.7One of my favorites. Boulevard’s Smokestack Series rarely disappoints. Nice size head, kind of fluffy after it settles. Leaves a healthy lace. Nose is a bit spicy, although not very hop heavy. Pours a cloudy, dull golden color. Taste is just so perfect. Subtle notes that make for a good IPA, along with a bit of spice. It’s all very balanced. Doesn’t sit heavy on your tongue
3.8Bottle:   Soft orangish straw, thick, hazy, moderate foamy white head, nice lacing.   A little citrusy nose, soft hop.   A little spicy too.   Great body right off the bat.   Thick and chewy, smooth, citrusy, hoppy, and spicy.   Nice balance, easy drinking.   Hoppy exit, with lingering citrus peel and spices.   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   Finishes with lemongrass, grains of paradise, soft hop, some citrus peel and pith.   Pretty good "White IPA".

P: Fairly clear vivacious pale golden body with a massive cap of dense meringue head. Retention is great and crumbles to a rocky crown leaving thick chunky lacing.
S: Spice forward with coriander, cinnamon, star anise, clove, bubble gum, belgian yeast and follows up with earthy hop oil dipped in citrus.
T/M: Lots of tangy wheat, coriander, lemongrass, clove, herbs and dirty earthy hops. Creamy medium body with faint carbonation. Semi-dry finish with lingering orange rind.
O: A nice balanced brew with earthiness, citrus and spices. I could drink this all day long. The yeast strain is delicate and not cloying which helps with the drinkability. I enjoyed the collaboration 2 so I had to grab this. Cheers!
3.8Very complex, Hops, cloves, xpices and wheat. Great tight lacing and a mouth of effervescence. Citrus hops and a lingering taste.
3.6A steady pour into my large Tripel Karmeliet tulip produces a three finger thick, pale tan colored head. The beer is a honey color that shows a brilliantly clear, rich, yellow-gold hue when held up to the light. The aroma smells of ripe tropical fruit mixed with sweet, floral citrus that is backed by spicy, lightly herbal hop notes; lychee, candied guava, really ripe tangelo zest, really floral citrus character, and an almost woody, peppery character that has a woody edge to it that reminds me a bit of rosemary. The peppery & woody notes accentuate a pale, toasted, wheat cracker character malt character. The floral character is quite expressive in the finish, it is a nice mix of spice, and flower nectar.
Dry and light bodied up front, but the beer picks up a touch of texture in the middle that gives this a bit more meat. Lots of citrus zest with a really focused, ripe, floral, citrus character that leans towards tangelo zest, perhaps a touch of kumquat zest, and a Curacao orange zest character that is nice and bright. There is just a bit of malt character here that contributes a bit of chewy, almost saltine wheat cracker like malt character. The finish has a solid, earthy spiciness to it that suggests at clove, woody peppery, and earthy sage character.
Definitely fits the bill for a White IPA, and it doesn’t try to be overly "Belgian" in some sort of way; light, hoppy, with a reasonable wheat malt character that lightly accentuates the bright hop character, with only an accentuating amount of clove character and spice.
3.4Slight retention and some lacing. Smells of spices and clove and ?bubblegum? Tastes of lemon zest, bubblegum and wheat. Interesting beer.
3.5Sunny hazy yellow pour with a modest white head. Very floral aroma. Starts off honey sweet, with a nice bitter middle that just kind of trails off. Light viscosity, light body but, well, kind of nice all around. Not enough bitter or floral or grapefuity for an IPA, but as something simply different this is light and pleasant. More witbier than IPA. Would I drink again? Yes. Would I order again? yes.
3.7Bottle with a best by date of 06-2014. Pours with a mostly clear pale golden hued body with a large white head that lasts. Aromas are of spicy belgian phenols (almost a bit 3711 like), black pepper, sage, coriander, citrusy, zesty, fruity notes. Mildly grassy and fruity hop character. Flavors are dry, grainy/bready, mild citrus notes, crisp finish, medium low bitter, fruit esters, citrus, complex phenols. Lively (2.65+) carbonation. Dry finish. Pleasant to drink.
3.4Pours a light golden yellow with fizzy head that dissipates quickly. Citrusy, wheaty smell. Flavor has a lot of lemon-citrus as well as some wheat esters. The sage is quite noticeable as well. Very bubbly, well-carbonated (perhaps too much so?). This is interesting, but not really my thing.
4.1Comes out of the bottle a hazy solar yellow with a good ivory head. Aroma is more yeasty than hoppy, more like a Belgian, with a strong fruity note. Flavor has a hoppy core that supports fruity, yeasty, butterscotch, coriander and sweet malt notes. Texture is smooth and viscous with a subtle but persistent tingle. Have one - reboot - call a taxi.
4.1Shared bottle at tasting...
Nice golden color.
Tiny Belgian bubbles.
Good and hoppy.
4.0750ml bottle pours a golden color with not much head. Fruity belgian yeast aroma. Flavor of belgian yeast and well balanced hops and sweetness. Marmalade after taste.
3.5Pours a hazy deep straw color with a large creamy white head. Notes of coriander, lemon curd, tree sap. Foamy mouthfeel.
3.1Collaboration No.2
On tap at hills alongside deschutes version.
Pours a golden raisin ale with a little head and some spot lace. Near good clarity. Smells more like a wit than the deschutes version and has tones of yeast and coriander. Some banana smell. Taste is bitter without much other hop character. More like a bitter witbier than a new style. Mouthfeel is about right with a semi dry finish. Overall, not getting much ipa per se, but bitter wit.

3.3Serving: 750 ml bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a hazy deep gold with a rocky, well sustained white head. Belgian yeast esters dominate the nose. Heavy yeast influence continues in the flavor. Lots of bubblegum. There is a light hint of citrus and hop bitterness, but it could use much more for balance. A bit out of kilter in my opinion.
3.7A nice big bodied ipa. Crisp and refreshing. The palate is smooth and the hop levels are strong but not overpowering.
4.4Cloudy witbier-ish appearance, with nice head and lace. Spritzy, effervescent carbo. Flavor is dominated by sage and citrus which melds really nicely with the wheat heavy malt bill. Super refreshing and complex. If white IPAs are here to stay, this is the beer to emulate.
2.9Bottle via Bret. Pours a clear golden with big white belgian esque head. Aroma is banana, clove and overpowering bubblegum. Taste is slghtly hopped at the front but then quickly dies and leaves you with Bazooka joe bubblegum. The bubblegum lasts for about 3 seconds and then goes away, like the flavor in that gum. I get very little IPA from this.
3.7Tasting in Missouri Thanksgiving ’13.
Nice hazy light color pour with a big head. Aroma is what I would expect of a wit, but has some resinous citrus from the IPA side. Flavor is interesting, enough hoppiness to get past the bubble gum esther that doesn’t really float my boat. Finishes dry with light sweetness. Very interesting.
3.0I had this at Global Brew. Pours clear gold with a white head. Taste cross between a Belgian Wit and a IPA, coriander, lemon. I thought this was not good. I wouldn't drink this again.
4.3750ml Bottle A - Pours a hazy orange golden hue with a bright white head. Good retention/lacing. S - bubblegum, clove, & coriander. T - Bubblegum yeast, banana, bitter hops, spice...a lot going on. M - Medium bodied. Crisp/clean mouthfeel. Good Belgium carbonation quality. Mildly bitter, dry finish. O - A complex, well done, balanced ale. Someone knows what there doing.
3.8Pours light orange with a dry fruity aroma. Nice balance of hops and a dry Belgian yeast flavor that finishes dry.
3.7Pours mostly clear yellow with a white head. Aroma is grains, grass, belgian yeast and some grapefruit. Taste is fruity, spicy, slightly bitter and tart.
3.6750ml bottle pours a hazy gold with lots of creamy, white head. Nose has a little candy, tropical fruit, orange, tangerine. Flavor is sweet, tropical fruits, tangerine, clementine oranges, light mint. Clean finish. Blends a tripel with an IPA.
