3.4On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Deep golden to orange colour, large white head. Moderate citrussy aroma, hints of pine and tropical fruits. Distinctly grapefruity flavour, some fruity acidity, medium dry, bitter finish.
3.2Appearance: Honey Amber. Hazy. Finger of white foam.
Nose: Light pineapple, mango and citrus notes over honey sweet malts.
Taste: Predominantly pineapple with hints of oranges and mango. Medium sweet, lightly bitter throughout
Body: Medium with medium bubbles.
Parting thoughts: A refreshing warm weather IPA. I had already sampled many of their current rotation, so I was glad to find an option that was new to me. Doubly glad to find that option tasty and refreshing.
3.5A definite fruitiness to this beer. More passion fruit than grapefruit. It's okay but nothing more.
3.4So, I was at a baseball game. But, I was rooting for the away team. Tigers lost. Beer still treated like a tropical IPA. Tap.
3.212 fl oz can. Pours orange. Grapefruit, biscuit, nuts, toast, guava, orange, very bitter. Medium body. Fine.
1.8So, its the new thing, everything is tropical, or is it just a sign of the previous pale ale times? Perhaps they've made tropical lagers already, heheheh. Clear pale pour with a white foamy head from a can. Smell is mild girly rancid BO ipa perfume, not bad. Taste is very ale like with those typical ill ale attitudes but then I get a little bit of freshness come thru. Yes, after the initial ale thang there is some almost fruity flowery path showing a clearing into the end. Big foamy head again on the second pour, looks nice, does not fade. Different in a way but yet the same old ubiquitous IPA.
3.3On tap at World of Beer near UCF in Orlando, Fla. Pours clear gold with small creamy off-white head and lacing. Aroma: tropical and citrus fruits, honey and pine. Flavor: lemon, orange, grapefruit, mango, melon, honey and pine. Mouthfeel: medium-bodied.
3.512 oz can from Total Wine & More, Laguna Hills and poured into a La Chouffe stemmed tulip glass at my daughters. Golden body, weak wispy head. Nose and taste pack a powerful tropical fruit aromas and flavours, the can doesn't lie; grapefruit and passion fruit certainly feature in this fruit bowl of a beer, I thought it fine.
3.4Pint at Winking Lizard. Thin white head with film on glass. Golden in color. Smells fruity. Earthy in taste with slight hop after taste on the palate. Overall above average beer. Cheers!
3.4Draft sample from notes. Pours a hazy golden color with orange highlights and a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have pale toasted malts, grainy malts, light tropical fruit and citrus character, some caramel sweetness, the flavors are decent enough but don’t seem to pop like I thought they would, lighter all around compared to the collaboration beer.
3.6Gold pour, no head. Nose is citrus. Bitter. Middle is medium kilned malt, honeydew, mild grapefruit, something teopical. Finish is bitter, but has a sweet honey tang to it.
3.412 oz. can bb 23 Nov 2017. Clear orange-amber with a crunchy film of foam. Resin, grapefruit/orange/lemon zest, mint and caramel in the aroma. Flavor is grapefruit, passion fruit, toasted grain, walnut with the bitter pith and toffee. Light-medium bodied with medium carbonation and a nice balance.
3.312 oz can served in a Tervis at the 2017 Fall ASMF.
Hazy copper colored body with a weak head that leaves minimal lacing. Coarse carbonation bubbles. Mild fruity aroma with a stronger, danker, fruity flavor. Both grapefruit and passion fruit can be detected.
Medium body.
4.0Pours a tinted gold, frothy, ivory colored head with uniform lacing. Tons of fruity nectar on the nose, very sweet and tropical indeed. Stone fruit and some pepper. Full and flavorful on the tongue. More pine came through than expected but it retained the tropical zest and citrus. A pleasant breadiness. Mango in the finish and a nice bitterness. Very good. If Tropical Pale were a style, this would be it.
3.312 oz can. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of dank citrus with some tropical fruit. Flavor has bitter citrus with some citrus rind.
3.3Grapefruit dominates the other fruits, but isn't as bold as in other grapefruit or citrus ipa's
3.0Bakgaarden Både & 010917. Golden-orange color with an off-white head. Aroma is berries, hay, citrus. Flavor is berries, hay, lingonberries, hint of tropical fruits, hop, citrus. Medium body. Ordinary beer.
3.3Clear gold pour with a rocky white head. The aroma has herbal hops with mild grapefruit. It has a medium body with smooth texture and average carbonation. The taste is sort of sweet-tart with a dry finish.
2.9Tap @ Bakgården Både &. Slightly unclear golden body with a big off-whit head that fades quickly. Aroma has pale malt and slightly sour fruit/berries. Flavor has some slightly harsh, bitter fruitiness with lingonberry and some sweet malt. Medium body and aftertaste in the same direction. Not very balanced or refreshing at all, mostly harsh. Might be something wrong here.
3.4Can- pours a golden amber color with a foamy beige head. There is a slight aroma of grapefruit and hops. The taste is smooth, juicy with a nice blend of sweetness and bitterness. Finishes with a bitter grapefruit after taste.
4.2Copper gold. Smell is hoppy fruity pine. Taste hoppy, not too bitter, clean, citrus, tasty refreshing. Drinkable. Good, could drink more of this.
3.4Pours an ultra clear golden color. About three fingers rocky, thick, cloud like cream colored head. Good retention, light lacing.
Aroma is grapefruit and not much more. Not much in the malt department.
Taste is grapefruit and again not a lot else. It's sweet, well, at least certainly not sour or bitter like grapefruit.
Mouthfeel is light to medium. Finishes lightly of grapefruit juice. It's just kinda there.
Overall, not much to see here. Doesn't remind me of a pale ale. It tastes good, it's nice to drink, but sort of fails at the style. I would not buy it again, I'd recommend it, but I dunno, not enthusiastically. If you want to be adventurous this isn't for you. If you want to be bored, then this might be just what you need. I feel like I'm over eating this.
3.0Fra kran på Cafe Sånn. Varm gylden. Middels høyt tett skum. Lett lacing. Lett ferskenaroma. Smaken tørket frukt. Grei - men litt uvariert.
2.6355ml can. Pale Gold pour. Aroma is nougat and citrus. Flavor is sweet and citrus, way too sweet, might be an older can...
4.0Sampler at Boulevard Beer Hall. Pours golden with a white head. Leaves trace lacing in the glass. Nice tropical fruit notes on the nose and tongue. Finished with a surge of bitterness. Nice.
3.5pours a rich clear gold with a medium white head. Dank floral aroma. Sweetish, almost fruit punchy taste, some citrus. Light to moderate hop bitter fades in. The finish follows through same as the taste. Different, but pretty good.
3.6Mild hops, somewhat fruity, easy drinking but nothing special about it. Draft pour at Cannikin I chicago. Cloudy bright orange with white head.
2.6Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a bright honey gold color with a medium sized foamy off white head that left good lacing. The aroma was bitter and tart with vague tropical fruit and cactus. The flavor was bitter and sourish with vague tropical fruit and a hint of cat pee. Medium length finish. Medium body. Meh.
3.7Can. Pours a hazy orange with a thin white head. Aroma of grapefruit, sweaty hops, citrus, grassy hops, lemon. Flavor of pale malts, floral hops, grapefruit, sweaty hop oils. Nice and fruity, hoppy pale ale with lots of grapefruit notes.
8/4/7/4/14 (3.7/5)
3.3Light amber color with a some, somewhat fizzy, brownish tinted foam. Sweet caramel and citrus scents. Perhaps a touch of toasted grapefruit. Sweet start with acidic, sweet fruit following. Light, Prickly, carbonated water feel. Seems like a quencher.
