Brakspear Oxford Gold (Bottle)

Brakspear Oxford Gold (Bottle)

Bottle: Filtered

"The Oxfordshire Beer"

Previously sub-titled "Organic Beer"

Ingredients: Pale & Crystal malts; Styrian Golding, Golding, Fuggle and Admiral hops

Brakspear Oxford Gold is a remarkably zesty brew, with fresh, citrussy aromas and a firm, fruity flavour. Pale ale malts provide the beer with its gold-gilt shimmer, spruced by a hatful of crystal malts to give body, texture and a delicate honey’d wrap.

3.8 500ml bottle brewed in England at 4.6%. Clear golden-amber with a nice fluffy white head, fair duration. Tangerine flesh aroma, hints of marmalade, with some faint hedgerow suggestions. Moderate- carbonation, nicely-judged. Marmalade peel, some herbaceous/floral tones, faintly earthy pithy finish, with some brown bread malt developing. Good balance of sweet and tart, smooth in effect. Has some of that Marston's water character. Solid supermarket offering for sure.

4.0 I really like this, some honey taste but plenty of bitter hops which give a dry resin finish, a quintessential English bitter as qualified by its eminent drinkablity... The more you drink the more you want, at £1.25 a bottle in Lidl get on it while you can
