Brakspear Triple (7.2%)

Brakspear Triple (7.2%)

Bottle conditioned.

Retired 2011; replaced with the 6.7% Triple with a different recipe. Bottles available are old stock.

Ingredients: Maris Otter, Crystal and Black malts; Northdown hops plus Cascade at the end of the boil.

"A beer conceived by Head Brewer Jeremy Moss, to celebrate the return of Brakspear brewing to Oxfordshire. This is a triple fermented, triple hopped strong beer, packaged in individually numbered bottles.

With its high alcohol content and bottle conditioning, this is a beer that will go on to develop further complexity as it matures in its bottle."

3.8 Clear, amber color. Small, medium lasting, creamy head. Aroma of fruits. Medium bitterness, full body. Very good!.
2.4 Butterscotch, denatured alcohol, and honney hints in the crisp aroma. Butterscotch and ruccola flavour. Good bitterness in the aftertaste. Strange "bridge" though between the sweet taste and the bitter aftertaste.
3.8 Appearance: Clear brownish color with a frothy tan head that leaves a lovely lacing. Aroma: Mild citric, fruity, light spicy and some yeast. Palate: Medium + body. Slightly sweet, and a moderate bitterness. Soft carbonation. Oily texture Taste: Mild banana. Fruity, mild citric, yeast and some spices. Well hidden alcohol. Overall impression: Nice tasty stuff. Personal stats: Bottle from a trade with rlgk
2.9 Bottle, shared april 6th 2013. Dark brown body, extremely small offwhite head. Aroma of caramel, honey, butter and herbs. Taste of sweet malt, nuts, hops and a high alcohol taste. Alcohol taste does the bitterness no favour as it lasts through the swallow. Nice english hoppy aftertaste. But that’s not enough to make me a fan.
3.3 Clear amber with medium off white head with decent duration. Lacing Aroma..malts, caramel, bubblegum, bit fruity, honey Sweet with medium bitter finish. Bit sticky Quite interesting beer, thou lacks balance
Belgiskt stuk.
3.4 Smell of malts and grain. Bronze colour, beige head. Aroma of alcohol, cognac, raisins. Medium carbon. Sweet, slighty sour.
3.6 Pours clear copper reddish with white top, average lasting, middle lacing ratio. Aroma - dominant candy backbone with pine notes, also a bit earthy and oaky. Taste - below medium spicy, below medium malty sweetness, good above average bitter from hopping, a bit sour-sweet at late stages. Palate - medium bodied, thick texture, mild dry finish. O.A. - very good English ale, but I would prefer more complex flavor, more maturated, more old. But this one is decent candy-pine(y) sample, enjoyable.
Riktigt skaplig faktiskt.
3.5 Bottle, rated from backlog. Aroma of alcohol, hop notes: perfume, soap, flowers and some fruit. Taste also has lots of alcoholol, fruit, oranges, yeast with low bitterness
3.5 Bottle. Amber color with a descending beige head. Sweet and sour aroma of cherry, yeast and caramel. Notes of dandelion. Sour taste with some bitterness. Flavors are caramel, syrup, glue and alcohol. Medium body with oily feel. Sour finish.
3.6 Aug 2012 - Room temp bottle at home in Richmond. Nice - sweet, no ethanoly sharpness like you get with some similar beers, balanced taste, bittersweet finish. A good strong ale, reminds me of a Belgian-style beer. Nice and would consider another. (3.6) July 2016 - Bottle share at Floor 42. As Brakspear Triple, 7.2%, Individually numbered. Thanks to Fergus for the chance to try an aged version of this. Has developed some excess carbonation with varnish and tangy notes. Has been pretty buggered by age. (2.1)
3.0 Rätt tråkig öl faktiskt. Söt och tydlig smak av alkohol. Liten beska i eftersmak.
Svag doft. Hög sötma. Medel beska. Ganska medioker
3.5 Bottle. Not at all retired. Creamy offwhite good mostly lasting head. Dark yellow color. Moder.ate malty and hoppy aroma. Nice rasin Spicy. Moderate bitter flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Creamy palate.
4.2 Brown with small white foam, rich and biiter taste with strong sweet notes. Despite it strenght easy drinkable.
3.1 Bottle. Reddish/copper colour with an off-white head. Fruity, floral, buttery & estery aroma. Malty, estery, fruity flavor with notes of pears, banana, wood, flowers, alcohol, yeast, caramel. Feels a bit like a belgian ale. A bit too alcholic and spicy for me.
3.2 Clear amber, no head. Sweet aroma with pineapple. Fudge and honey blend with the alcohol. Little bitterness lingering in the end.
Alkoholen slår igenom väldigt mycket även i smaken.
3.5 Bottle@tasting, 50cl. Head: off-white colored foam. Color: clear, orange. Aroma: hops, alcohol. Taste: sweet bitter. Palate: dry, sweet, smooth, medium body, bitter finish. Overall: very nice.
3.4 2 and a half year old bottle. Nice lively pour. Amber copper in colour with a thin persistent head. Aromas of fig, raisin and rum. Lively on the palete. Slightly boozy with an oak finish.
1.4 Bottle no 2014759, BB 31JAN13. Sweet honey nose with beautiful fruit and a little alcohol. Amber body with an ugly beige head. Taste is lightly bittersweet (bitterness waxing to the end) with a lot of tang and out of control flaws -- heavy fusels, airy, hot and scattershot -- seems like a totally uncontrolled fermentaiton. Some sour fruit and tang, medium body is a little oily and very fizzy. Ouch.
3.1 Bottle. Amber with a white head. Sour fruit and light malt aroma. Sweet fruit flavour that turns slightly sour before a dry hoppy finish. Dull.
2.7 500 ml bottle (bottle no #2005928). Mahogany colour. Crystal clear. Thick light beige fine-laced head that clings to the glass. Appley yeasty nose with earthy notes. Herbal character. More yeast in the flavour. Earthy hops without any fruity freshness to them. Soft and rich malts. Feels a little unbalanced. Rough bitter finish that lingers.

3.5 FRom a 5o cl bottle at home. Clear amber beer with a offwhite head. Malty and hoppy flavour with some salty notes and some sweetness.
