3.223rd October 2017
Bodney Towers Bottleshare. Thanks to Fergus. Bright clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, semi dry and with decent fine carbonation. Semi sweet malts with modest lager character. Smooth floralness. Very mild spice. Light dry finish. Clean and drinkable.
2.7October 2017 - Bottle share in Hackney. Big thanks to Fergus for what is considered a classic European beer brand, but one which is never seen in the UK. As 'Brand UP', 5.5%. Pale golden yellow, still and clear, small foamy off-white head leaves dotted lacing. Aroma is airy, lager-malts, grains. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is cracker-like malts, dusty and dry, spicy and papery. Basic lagery stuffs. Fine, but doesn't set itself apart from the lager crowd for me. (4-4-5-3-11=2.7)
2.9Yellow pilsner pour with a fast dissipating head. Faint aroma of malts and floral hops. Taste is balanced sweet and bitter. Medium bodied and medium carbo. Not too bad, quite liked it actually.
3.3Bottle from Monster Magnet. A Protz 300 tick. Cheers! Flotal, grassy, slightly sour aroma. Understated. Pale gold. Thick frothy white head. Bubbly. Light bitter with a sweet streak. As per the aroma, it's understated. Light bodied. Thin bit lifted by the pleasent soft carbonation. Abrupt finish. Enjoyable. Unoffensive.
2.8Intense grain and cereal malts, caramel, light hay, straw. Clear gold, tiny, creamy, white head. More sweet grain and cereal malts, caramel, honey, straw, medium carbonation, medium bodied. Boring. Bottle shared at Leighton's - thanks to mr_fr0g!
3.6Bottle shared in Hacjney - big thanks to Fergie. Pours clear yellow with a creamy, white head. Crispy pale malts in the nose, some hints of paper, hay. Light sweet flavour with more simple pale bread, light hay, biscuits. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Pretty clean finish, more biscuits, straw. Nice stuff.
4.1Very nice, bitter pils. Smells quite earthy. The bottle looks very nice. Taste reminds a lot of Budvar, with a hint of sweetness. So far one of the better beers I’ve tried in the Netherlands.
3.5Tap @ Noorderlicht, Amsterdam V 2018. 7-4-7-3-14
4.0Licht bitter pils. Volle vette schuimkraag.
2.4Bottle from Mam and Dad’s holiday, Netherlands. Very pale bright straw coloured with a very thin white head. It has a sweet grassy and gentle fruity flavour followed by malt and grassy notes on the finish. Ok.
2.9Draft 0.25l at Cafe Gollem Amstelstraat Amsterdam, The Netherlands. 15.10.2016. Thanks Pieter. Pour it clear golden color with medium white head. Aroma straw, grainy. Taste sweet honey, pretty much grainy with bitter hoppy finish, interesting, light body, average carbonation.
2.7Gezapft in einem Amsterdamer Restaurant. Golden, etwas Schaum. Aroma Hopfen, Getreide.
3.6Bottle at home, golden beer, medium head. Aroma is grain, malt. Taste is the same, bitter with some sweetness.,ok beer.
3.2Quite malty aroma. Clear gold to greenish yellow. Small but long head. Medium sweet, bitter finish. Not light body. Nice beer for a sunny afternoon.
2.9One of the better attempts at urtyp pilsner. A good solid beer. Clear, yellow golden with a nice white head.
2.5Tap at De Paas, Den Haag. Poured a crystal clear straw colour with a frothy white head. The aroma is yeast, skunky Pilsner malt. The flavour is moderate bitter with a dry yeast, light watery woody hop bitter palate and a lightly lingering bitter finish. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. I didn’t expect much and I was not disappointed.
3.3This is where Brand excels. I love this refreshing aromatic and hoppy lager. Backlog from 2014/06/19.
Lekker bier.
2.030cl Flasche. Strohgelbes Bier, fester Schaum. Hopfen und Getreide in der Nase. Leicht sauer. Nichts besonderes.
2.60.3 l bottle from local Jumbo, bottled in July 2015. Clear, pale straw yellow with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, malty-herbal aroma of hay, sweet malts and hints of citrus. Sweetish, malty-herbal taste of hay, sweet malts and herbal hops, followed by a relatively long, medium bitter finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay, rather boring.
3.0250 ml. draft @ Bierspeciaalcafe De Paas. Post-Borefts 2015. Day 2. Pale industrial lager appearance with a white head. Nose is cold metallic, faint pepper & hop but mainly industrial grains. Taste is cold, iron, sweet corn, light flowers, bit watery, mineral. Body is grainy, mineral & watery. On par with slightly more palatable pale lagers.
3.7Keg at de pass, den Haag. Crystal clear yellow with a lasting frothy white head. Aroma is nice fresh grains cereal, Nobel hop with a little faint citrus. Nice fresh grains. Flavour is composed of clean pils grains, cereal, spicy, light citrus hop, clean and easy drinking. Palate is crisp, highish carbonation, light bodied. Good stuff.
2.530cl bottle at home. Pours a clear golden colour with a big frothy white head with decent retention. Aroma of malt, hay, caramel. Taste is moderate sweet, medium bitter with a moderate dry finish. Notes of pale malt, hay, grass. Texture is watery, light bodied with moderate carbonation
2.42015-05-07 not thumbs up, unfortunately. Rather bland beer. Not very special.
3.1Clear golden beer with a good white head. Taste is malty, some bitter hops, fruity. Afthertaste is some bitter. Nit bad fir a pilsner.
3.3For a pilsener, this is actually really nice! Refreshing because of the hoppy aftertaste, this is a perfect pilsener for the summer!
