BraufactuM Colonia

BraufactuM Colonia

Hopfen: Saphir
Malz: Pilsener, Karamellmalz

With Colonia, BraufactuM brings traditional Rhenish bitters to life once more. The special hoppy aroma can be attributed to large hop additions in both the brew house and the storage tanks. For Whirlpool and dry hopping nly the rare Hallertauer Saphir hop is used.

3.2 Bottle, clear pale straw, white head. Aroma is somewhat soapy, but not unpleasant, fruity, green apple and citrus, light malt. Taste dry with rather low bitterness. Refreshing carbonation.
3.5 Saphirwürzig, heumuffig & smallfunky. Sicherlich nicht intensiv, aber locker ein Spitzenkölsch👍sweety, floral & AleMild😉 aus Chrilles 0,33l Buddel..
3.5 330ml bottle from Kaufland, drunk overlooking the Sea Garden, Burgas on an overcast September afternoon. Pours clear with a thin, fast-settling foamy head, medium lacing, persistent rising carbonation. Golden straw in colour. Strongly hoppy aromas of citrus, lemongrass, fresh-cut grass and herbs with accents of floral honey. In the mouth, high carbonation, light to medium texture, strong flavours similar to the aromas, medium bitterness, almost no sweetness or alcohol presence, no sourness with a medium-length bitter finish. Overall, superbly hoppy and refreshing, similar to a kellerbier.
3.3 Clear golden, stable white head. Pineapple, grassy hops, white bread, white breadcrumb. Light sweetness, light bitterness. Good.
3.6 Bottle from Galeria in Frankfurt. Nose of honey malts, lemon, grass and herb. Clear gold with a low, tight head. Lemony, herbal flavor, nice hops, unobtrusive malts. Very hoppy for a kolsch, but still retians some authenticity. Snappy, crisp malts. Refreshing and highly quaffable. Good modern kolsch.

3.3 Clear, golden colored, medium+ white frothy head, nice lasting. Aroma is of some pils malt, very light caramel, herbal and bit fruity & citrus hops, clean but mellow. Taste is medium sweet pils malt, light caramel, medium herbal and bit fruity & citruy hops, medium bitterness, dry finish. Medium bodied, average carbonation, bit oily. (bottle)
3.3 (Draught at Meisterstück, Berlin, 25 Aug 2017) Pale golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of citrus, lemon peel, tropical fruit and pineapple. Malty, fruity taste with citrus, tropical fruit, bread, lemon peel, pineapple and a balanced citric bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Fresh and tasty, with a generous hop profile for the style. Quite nice.
3.4 Bottle. Clear golden colour. Moderate white head. Average retention. Aroma: clean malts, citrus hops, some honey. Medium body. The taste is initially malty. Clean. Hoppy ending. Citrusy hop profile. Light to medium bitterness. Refreshing. A pleasant one.

3.7 355 ml bottle served in Kölsch glass. Pours clear bright golden with creamy white head. Elderflower, tropical fruits, some notes of pineapples and citrus fruits. Hoppy, fruity, bitter taste. Soft carbonated, light body. Very nice for its style.

3.5 0,33 bottle @ Düsseldorf airport bar, April 24, 2017. Appearance is golden, clear and small head. Tastes like a nice Pilsener. Instead of hoppy ending you’ll get a spicy ending. Oh, this seems to be a top fermented Bitterbier. Very good, indeed.
3.6 Beim Antrunk ganz schön bitter und hopfig, aber auch sehr erfrischend! Ananas, Zitrone und Hopfen, mal was Anderes!
2.5 Botella of @Erzengel, Very Thanks!!!! 04/05/17. BBD: 25/08/17 Color dorado espuma blanca, aromas a cereal con notas citricas, sabores a malta bastantes sabores a cereal seguido de sabores herbales cuerpo ligero.
2.0 Bottle, bbe 30.4.2015. Pale golden light haze. Pretty weak, hardly any nose. Light starchy, dusty, citrus. Some sweet almonds, honey old malts. Med bodied. Old honey in flavour, malty starchy. Easy, but the flavour is gone. -- rated with beerbasher/winphone
3.7 The beer has a very nice look. The color of the beer reminds a bit of Belgian witbeer. The color is a rather pale yellow, with some minor orangy notes. The beer is as cloudy as a witbeer to. On top of the beer a nice layer of rough white foam is formed. Whilst the bulk of the foam collapses, a nice drape remains on top. The smell of the beer is good. I wish it was a little stronger though. I smell some touches of yeast, giving a tiny almost creamy touch. Besides this there are bitter hops, giving some fresh aroma’s, including some fruitiness and a herbal aroma. I also smell some malts. All aroma’s aren’t very strong, although the hop bitterness clearly is in advantage. The taste off the beer is a bit stronger. It has nice bitter hops, containing some herbal touches but clearly some fruity flavors. There is a slight touch of citrus. The hops are nicely enhanced by the malts. The malts aren’t very strong, but they just take the hop flavors a bit higher. There is a tin zesty touch to. Nice beer. The palate of the beer is quite good. Body is medium and the texture quite smooth, but the high carbonation really gives this beer a nice sensation. The finish of the beer is not that long, but it is nice. There are nice hop flavors in there. All in all, a very good beer. My first BraufactuM beer, but I can’t wait for the others.
3.6 Nice bitter beer from Braufactum. I like the bitter taste and the light fruit flavour.
3.6 Bottle, April 2016. Diaphanous gold with a dense white collar and plenty of lace. Aroma of honeyed shortbread, sappy shrub, lemon rind and sesame. Deep nuanced, deeply drinkable stuff with greasy rich rye bread, sesame and almond base flavours vying with lighter lemon curd, thistle and dill-like herb. Cherry blossom and sherbet lemon. Soft cask feel. A very good lager in essence. Unmistakably German and packed with grassy fresh old school Euro hop goodness.
3.0 On tap at sebar. Pale color, fluffy white head. Aroma is grainy, raw malt, some leaves, paper. Some floral notes as well, rose, grass. Taste mild bitter, light dusty, grainy, starch. Medium body, clean finish.
3.0 Bottled, 355ml from BeerMerchants of Kent. Clouded orange gold with white head. This seemed a little flat on opening, there is a light herby note on first sip, fruity but with a slightly acidic lemon note. Nothing really to get excited about here but its okay in the end.
3.6 Bottle. Slightly hazy pale golden, with a frothy white head. Pleasant delicate floral/fruity character with clean, crackery pale malts and mild-moderate bitterness. Very pleasant.
3.6 Bright gold with some floaties in it. Very thin head. Aroma is straw. Taste is sharp with some lemon.
3.2 Bottle 33cl. Cloudy yellow with a white head. Yeasty, straw aroma. Watery feeling/thin body, but some hints of pineapple. Refreshing bht rather short finish.
3.6 0,355l Flasche. Sanft trübes Bier, weisser Schaum. Frischer Hopfenduft. Fruchtig hopfiger Antrunk. Gras und Kräuter. Sanft bitterer Abgang. Rund aber auch recht glatt.
