Darkon is inspired by traditional recipes. Nothing but dark malts, are used to create the characteristically mild roasted aromas of bitter chocolate and toffee.

3.122oz bottle pours a mostly translucent dark brown with plenty of frothy, tan head. Settled like a Guinness. Nose is nice, gristy, some roast, toffee, over baked but not burnt bread, some cocoa nib. Flavor is sweet with malts, some licorice, toffee, a little raisin, some fresh cocoa nib. Full bodied, sticky, creamy. Drank bitter than 5.4%.

The looks of the beer are very nice. The beer truly is a Schwarzbier. It is very dark. The color is a very dark brown, approaching black. At the edges the beer has a dark coppery reddish brown color, also approaching black. Nice. On top of the beer a lovely light brown soft head is formed. Foam retention is average. After a while a nice thin light brown drape is left. Lovely.
The smell of the beer is nice. It isn't very strong though. I smell some nice malt aromas, that clearly have a toasted and roasted character. This gives some nice touches of chocolate, coffee and some caramel. I also smell some dark red fruits. Hop aromas aren't that clearly present. They give just a fresh balancing touch to the beer. Nice though.
The taste of the beer is very nice. I taste some clear toasted malts. Some chocolate, coffee and caramel. The hops give a nice fresh bitterness and a slight acidity. I also taste some nice red fruits. Some touches of cherry and a hint of raspberry. Lovely and very well balanced, with a nice bitter undertone. I like it.
The palate of the beer is nice. Full body, smooth and high carbonation. The finish is a tiny bit short. It is mainly bitter, a bit dry even. There are some bitter toast flavours, some chocolate and some bitter hops. All in all, another great beer from BraufactuM. Good job.
3.1keg at rattle n hum... Deep brown... Small tan head.. Soft sweet toffee malts nose.. dry caramel toffee malts
3.9Bottle. Color: Very dark ruby, light brown head. Taste: Mild dark roasted malt, raisins, coffee, some hints of dark chocolate, bread and smoke. Medium sweet with bitter notes mostly towards and at the finish. Medium body and carbonation. Pretty dry mouthfeel. Nice schwarzbier but could have had a bit more body.
