BraufactuM Palor

BraufactuM Palor

Hopfen: Polaris, Cascade
Malz: PaleAle, Pilsener, Karamellmalz

What makes the vanilla-colored Palor so special is a never-before-used variety of hops called Polaris. Along with Cascade – a hop variety favored among craft brewers – it lends Palor an exceptionally refreshing flavor.

2.7 Golden and clear. 'Cherry' is my first thought upon sniffing at the glass. Slightly unusual. Otherwise, the aroma is somewhat subdued and 'English'. I think I'm going to like it and take a sip... but sadly, it gets thin and one-dimensional: a bit of bitterness and not much else.
3.5 Van tap bij Alt-Berliner-Biersalon in Berlijn. Fris hopbitter, bloemig, citrus, grapefruit, hop (Polaris, Cascade). (2-2017).
2.8 resin, floral, grass, spruce, citrus, herbs, heavy cloying sweetness, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, medium sourness, heavily sour, very bitter, lightly bitter, lightly sour, light sweetness, medium body, light body,
3.9 Pours a clear, medium amber coloration with a medium, fizzy head. Smells of bready, caramel malt with a certain floral, herbal note and just a hint of pine. Taste follows the nose, being quite malty, but with a nice balance of bready, doughy, caramel malt and floral, herbal, piney hops. There's a strong presence of alpine herbs that is reminiscent of sage, thyme and fennel, with an underlying floral, grassy note as well. Not a lot of citrus coming through, but a bit of pine is noticeable as well. Finishes with a dry, light/medium bitterness. This is certainly a different, quite unique Pale Ale that doesn't quite seem to quite fit neither the English nor American definition, but is quite nice and refreshing in its own way. The Polaris hops really seem to take center stage here, with a strong herbal presence and almost no citrus and little pine coming through from the Cascade hops. This actually reminds me a bit of Almdudler, an Austrian soda that's flavoured with alpine herbs. I've had this quite fresh and would not expect it to hold up well due to its strong malt backbone and subtle hop flavour.
3.2 Orange-golden colored, medium off white head, bit unclear. Aroma is of pils malt, some caramel, medium- herbal and fruity hops. Taste is medium sweet pils malt, some caramel, moderate- herbal and some fruity notes, bit bready, medium bitterness, dryish finish. Medium bodied, soft+ carbonation. (bottle)
3.6 Palor pours a clear amber color and its mid-lived head leaves a decent lacing behind. The nose is full of citric and floral hops and is simple but very pleasant. It is also rather simple on the palate. It opens with clean malts and goes on to unfold notes of citrus and gooseberry. Although the focus of this ale lies in the hops, the medium-short finish is on the subtle side of bitter. The mouthfeel is smooth and the carbonation is rather soft. Worth a try.
3.4 Bottle from Real. Fresh fruity floral nose. The beer starts round and floral, smooth with sweetish grainy hints. Long mild smooth aftertaste, refreshing mild with a moderate bitter fruity ending. Nice.
2.4 Bottled. 20cl sample. The aroma has hay, light honey. Almost clear, golden-copper coloured beer with not much head. The taste is light bitter with some malty sweet. Bit above average carbonation with some metallic tones. Dry finish. Lacks hops. If this is an American pale ale then I am Donald Trump.
3.6 s12 oz. bottle at Berlin-Tegel airport (Red Baron). Hazy amber color. Sticky off white head with good lacing. Aroma’s: malty sweetish, herbal and grassy hops. Retronasal it’s hopbitter, malty sweetish. Flavor is quite bitter, a bit herbal. Light bodied. Finish is quite dry, woth some caramel and moderate bitter.
3.4 Bottle @fritz braugasthaus, Stralsund. Pours a bronze like colour beer with a medium head. Fruity and hoppy with notes of malt and caramel. Dry finish.
3.5 03-06-2017; bottle; at home (bought somewhere in Germany). The looks of the beer are nice and quite typical for a pale ale. The beer has a nice golden orange, quite a deep color. The beer has some haziness, but it is not entirely unclear. On top of the beer a nice layer of soft, rather rough white foam is formed. Foam retention is average. Not bad. The smell of the beer isn’t that strong. It is typically that of an American Pale Ale though. Clear robust maltiness upfront, followed by some clear American hops. The hops give some nice resinous and piney aromas, with a tiny citrus hint. Not bad, not not extremely special neither. Just a good APA. The taste is comparable. Nice malty sweetness at first, together with lovely bitter and slightly acidic hops, with mainly pine and resin touches. Not bad. It is a robust APA, like it should be. The bitterness seems a tiny bit to strong though, bringing it slightly out of balance. And it misses a bit of a special touch. A bit plain this way. The palate of the beer is nice. Medium body, rather smooth and a nice medium carbonation. The finish is nice and contains some lovely bitter American hops. All in all, a nice beer but it misses some depth.
3.0 33cl bottle. cloudy amber color. medium white head. hops, malts, citrus, orange. medium to high bitterness that lingers on. medium carbonation
3.2 Man schmeckt und riecht viele Kräuter! Ein erfrischendes Bierchen für besondere Anlässe! Wer auf bittere Kräuter steht, sollte es mal testen!
3.6 Pours a dark amber color. Aroma is filed with grass coriander mint sage. Has a solid malt profile with a hoppy finish. A very good american pale.
3.4 Bottled, 330ml from The Wine Rack at Yarnton Nurseries, Yarnton, Oxon. Gold to amber with white head. There is a pleasant, fresh crispness to this from the start, leafy, autumnal hop notes, some fruitiness, biscuity malts. Reasonable depth. It’s fine.
3.1 Bottle 33cl. Amber with a beige head. Pils aroma, with some extra hoppy tones. I would describe this as an extra hopped pils style. Nice taste which compliments the aroma. Rather short finish.
3.3 Can from Wine Rack at Yarnton Nurseries, Yarnton, Oxon. Consumed down the village hall at Shocktober Fest 29th October 2016 Gold in colour with a white head, a little buzzy hop, fruity with a malt edge. Clean tasting and quite interesting, ok. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

3.5 Sample @ RBWG Tampa Epic Hotel Share. Thanks to whoever brought this! Deep golden pour with a small white head. Nose is fairly fruity - peach apricot. Some baked croissant. Light pine. Flavor is a little flabby - sweet cereal. Chewy. Light accents of pine and orange. Medium body, soft carb.
3.1 A little soapy and a little watery, yet this is decent. Better than most beers I brought back from The land of the Germans

3.3 On tap. Light amber color, clear, nice creamy offwhite head. German malts vienna style, biscuit, sugary/caramel, with light american hops. A vienna with american hops, ultra clean, balanced light taste, light body, average carbonation. Vienna with american hops, good combo but not intense as one could expect, easy drinker.
3.0 Bottle at Naiv in Frankfurt. Pours a clear amber/gold colour with a moderate off white head. Aroma of malt, citrus hop, and caramel. Medium sweetness and bitterness. Body is quite light, texture a little thin, average carbonation. Nothing much to it really, inoffensive but unspectacular.
4.2 Aroma: gooseberries, red currant, pines, citrus, herbs, some dried peach and mango. Tastes bitterish upfront and throughout, very nice balance. Medium dry, not much carbonation, very drinkable. Very very drinkable, great balance.
