Breckenridge Agave Wheat

Breckenridge Agave Wheat

This true American-style unfiltered wheat has something a little special – the nectar of the great Salmiana Agave. Agave complements the refreshingly light quality of our wheat and adds a subtle note of flavor that expands this beer’s uplifting taste profile. It is familiar, yet creative.

4.0 Average wheat beer. Decent for casual drinking but nothing too distinctive
3.4 On Tap at PreFunk Nampa Hazy light paly peach color witha huge egg shell colored head. Straight up wheaty aromas. Nice light bready malt flavors and a smooth creamy feel. Doesn't have the weak watery character of a typical 4% beer. Tasty.
2.7 The color is a step above water. The aroma has very light honey notesbut is not there beyond that. This is very light bodied and almost tastes like a slightly sweetened Coors Light. For an unfiltered ale it seems to be missing a lot of pieces and particles. A little too watery for me. The wheat only comes through at the very end after the Coors type bitterness fades.
4.5 Picked up a6 pack at a store/ gas station. I didn't have high hopes that it would taste good. I was truly wrong. Great taste with no bitter after taste. Went down slightly sweet and let's say two beers and I felt it.
3.0 Draft at Old Chicago. Beautiful pour, then generic wheat ale flavors. Minor notes of agave, but not enough to bump this up any. Palatable, but bland.
2.9 On draught at Old Chicago. Pours a hazy orange yellow with a small head of foam, good lacing. Smell is of wheat, fruity in an odd way..agave. Really light lifeless aromas Taste is strong wheat, earthy agave, hint of tartness, otherwise lacking in flavour to my palate. Drinkable but not more than 1 glass wanted.
3.1 Draft at Macs. Hazy canary yellow gold pour Egg-shell foam. Medium-light toasted cracker malts. Clementines. Cereal. Some agave there. Nothing overpowering. Bit juicy. Bit sweet. Quaffable.
3.5 Can at The Still at Mirage Casino on 12 October 2017. This is an easy drinking beer with plenty of flavour. Nothing like drinking a beer while there is a baseball game on the tv and plenty of crazy American sports fans around.
4.0 B-. Pours a clear golden color with white head. Can’t really taste the agave, but not bad
2.9 Pours into German traditional tall wheat glass nicely enough, with a golden glow and generous fizz. I can detect a faint tequila scent, enveloped my the musty grainy aroma. The flavor is rather flat and neutral for an unfiltered wheat beer. Refreshing, but lacking any overall depth or character. Ho hum
3.2 Amber gold color with white foam. Medium palette with sweetness and yeasty goodness. Nice.
2.8 Unfiltered wheat ale brewed with agave nectar. Not overpowering, very clean taste
3.3 draft that poured a slightly hazy yellow pale orange color with a white head. aroma is slightly spiced wheat and the sweetness of the agave. the flavor was soft sublte wheat with a bit of spice and you could taste the sweetness of the agave. was it great? no was it decent yea its drinkable. overall one or two would be about all I could do.
3.0 Poured from a tap. Hazy golden color, medium white head. Sweet fruit and wheat aroma. Medium body with a sweet fruit flavor and a medium finish.
2.7 Can. Pale gold in color with a frothy white head that quickly dissipated. Floral (Agave?) And light lemon citrus aroma. Watery body.
2.7 12 oz bottle. Look: hazy amber with a moderate size white head that has decent retention and leaves plenty of lacing. Aroma: unappealing and musty but not unlike some other wheat beers. Flavor: much better than the aroma. Citrus and agave notes with hints of bananas and honey. Feel: medium light body with medium carbonation.
3.0 12oz bottle. Pours hazy yellow, excellent head retention and spotty lacing. Smell is bread, nut, yeast, cactus and some spice aromas. Taste is bread dough, biscuit malt, fruit and nut flavors. Feel is light in body, smooth and a little dry and bitter in the finish.
3.3 Sweet like honey. Wheat. Malty. Delicious but somewhat artificial. On tap at lesters.
3.0 Golden body with a medium white head. Pretty much a basic ok wheat beer imo.
2.9 Pours a medium golden yellow color. Aroma is lacking, traces of grass, malt, and maybe some hops. Flavor was almost as bland as the smell, a little sweetness, followed by a touch of hops. Not much here.
2.5 Tasting flight at the taproom in Denver. Cloudy gold, white head, wheat, citrus (?) and agave nectar (floral) aroma. Raspy carbonation but a rough earthy flavor that then gives you wheat and some sweeter notes. No, thanks this tastes too rough and I want a wheat beer to be smooth.
3.0 Tapped at Fette Sau. Sweet fruit aroma. Wheat, floral and grass. Light-medium body and sticky texture. Cloying. Wheaty. Thinking the fruit is banana but I don’t remember.
2.6 Bottle from Kroger, likely. Pours slightly hazy golden with an inch of white head. Taste is quite bland. Lightly lemon wheat, a bit of morning breath, and that’s about it.
1.3 Pours a light golden with a quick vanishing head. Smells super sweet with a dash of fruit. Flavor was sweet wheat with some fruity notes. Overall not terrible, just forgettable.
3.1 My excitement for this beer was eclipsed by its mediocrity. At the end of the day, there’s not even a hint of anything related to tequila; all you have is a very bland wheat beer from an underwhelming brewery.
2.9 Sample 7/19/14 (Naperville Ale Fest)-Pours hazy orange with small head. Aroma of wheat and citrus. Taste of the same. This light bodied brew hit the spot but otherwise pretty basic.
2.8 Several 12 oz bottles at the Boulder Theater during Leftover Salmon’s recent 2 night run (11/27-28). Mild aroma of toasted grain and lemon zest. Similar flavor, with a light bittersweet finish. Light body. A little boring but easy to drink overall. Not bad.
3.0 On tap at Brix, pours a clear light copper with no head, aroma is super sweet with a decent amount of fruit showing, flavor is really sweet too, Some fruit too, not terrible
3.4 Oranje troebel bier met bijna geen schuimkraag. Aroma is apart, kan het niet thuis brengen. Smaak is fris en zoet. Mooi biertje met dank aan Foxke.
3.0 4.2%ABV.  Wheat Ale. Poured out of the bottle a light amber.  8ºSRM. Nose is wheaty and beery.   Mouthfeel is watery.    The palate is dominated by raw dough, wheat flour and water biscuit.  There may be hint of syrupy heaviness as a nod to the use of agave syrup.  Carbonation is pronounced.  More sour than I’d like an ale to be, but that could be attributed to an off flavor...i don’t know.  Sometimes happens with Thirsty. Finish is abbreviated and unimpressive.
