Breckenridge Avalanche Amber

Breckenridge Avalanche Amber

Subtlety. That's what makes our Avalanche amber ale such a treat. We blend pale and caramel malts -- and just a kiss of bittering hops -- to create a refreshing-but-flavorful, any-time beer. Aromas of pale grains, a semi-sweet middle and a clean-as-Colorado-snow finish make this our best-selling beer.

2.8 Not s’bad! Refreshing and best served cool.. cold is also suitable. 2.8 because it’s better than average
3.1 Found out of can. Pours a dark amber with thick white foam. Slight malt but still enjoyable late fall option.
3.0 Shared 12 oz. can poured to snifters showing a clear, orange/amber color, with a presentable layer of off white froth, and foamy spots of lacing. The nose was a bit ripe, with dried fruit, soft grain, and some candy & caramel sweetness. Light bodied, with fair carbonation, the taste was similar, but less sweet, with a touch of dryness, and slight, earthy bitterness. Somewhat washed out texture-wise. Questionable Amber Ale beginning, but came around a little in the flavor.
2.8 Canned @ 5% from BevMo. Lightly sweet malty flavors up front. Some notes of biscuit. Kind of odd tasting. Reminds me a bit of a cheap eastern European beer in some way. Not a shining example of the style.
2.7 Clear copper with a white head. Aroma is toast, caramel, and earthy. Taste is light sweet and light/medium bitter. Palate is light body, thin feel with average carbonation.
3.0 Pours a medium amber with an off white head leaving little lacing. Nose is slight caramel. Body is medium light. Aftertase is slight bitterness. Another Breck weak example. Well, it is InBev. 12 oz can from the 15 can variety pack BBY 1/5/19
2.7 355ml can. (5.0% ABV) Pours a slightly hazy copper with a medium, frothy, long lasting, beige head that laces. Mild, sweet aroma of toasted caramel malt. Sweet flavour of toasted bready malt, caramel and light nuts with a dry, mild bitter finish. Light body with a thin, watery texture and soft carbonation. A malt forward Amber that could use some more hops. Ok, for a boring style.
3.9 OK amber ale. Nice for a casual drink, but other Breckenridge beers better
3.5 Draft at the Union Bar, Gering, NE. Drinkable American red ale with low level of bitterness
2.9 Y'all can fuck off this was a really great beer. Classic amber malt and sticky mouthfeel.
2.9 The color on this is beautiful, deep amber with red tones almost like a red ale. Aromas of biscuits and malted grains. Very smooth. The flavors flavors are very caramel, toast, and brown bread forward.
2.9 Smell is light and a bit sweet, decent but one dimensional..almost all malt...had at Clemson symposium 2018
2.6 Pours a ...well....amber color with a smallish white head which is gone quickly......aroma of soggy grain, very slight sweetness......taste is thin, slightly sweet, typical amber malt taste with negligible bittering and little hop taste.
3.3 I can't believe that I've never reviewed this old school beer, first brewed in 1988. No dating on the bottle. Pours a clear amber, a finger of foam. The smell has caramel malt, toasted malt with an interesting fruity character. Caramel malt taste, light fruitiness, toasted malt, very light bitterness to temper the sweetness. Some grainy notes as well. Medium body with medium carbonation. Quite the tasty Amber. I should buy it more often.
3.3 12 oz bottle. Very light scents of malt and some grass. Pours a pretty red orange. The off-white head is gone in a flash. Light lacing. More sours than the average amber but it works with a strong malt foundation. Fizzy mouthfeel
4.3 A full body ale with a taste of nectar not really too heavy but a great overall ale.
3.8 12 ounce can from the sampler pack purchased at Liberty Beer in Pittsburgh. Crisp and refreshing. Pretty average but also pretty good.
2.5 Been awhile...finding old stuff I haven't rated. Pretty standard boring amber ale. Mild malt with a little bit and earthy finish.
2.8 Bottle poured into a shaker glass. Ruby/amber color and a foamy tan head. Aroma is pleasant with toffee, caramel, and a good dose of toasted malt. Initial taste is watery and mild with hints of caramel and some roasted malts. Aftertaste is very mild...not much there. Body is thin but carbonation is spot on. Much like every other Breckenridge brew I've tried, this one is lacking any real conviction. It's watery and rather "meh" about being a beer. This brewery wins the participation award for brewing beer. They're trying, but apparently not very hard.
3.4 This beer has a mild aroma of a wheat beer with a slight hint of the flavors to come. The appearance is a beautiful amber, gold. The taste is the real kicker. I see a lot of reviews claiming a grainy taste, but I am mostly coming through with a honey. Not just any honey though, clover honey. Light and sparkling, somewhat thin, but very well suited for the style and flavor.
4.3 B. Pours a clear golden color with white head. A little light on flavor, but well balanced and refreshing
3.1 On tap at Fuzzy’s. Clear, caramel color, with a big, frothy, beige head. The aroma is toffee, vanilla, smooth caramel, spruce, and spice. Sweet and syrupy, with a light bitterness. Light to medium body, with a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. This is a fair beer, but a little weak.
2.7 Clear amber pour. Rocky, chunky white head with large bubbles. Nose is faint bitter hops and pale malt. Crackery malt base, caramel, spicy hops. Finishes dry and a little metallic. Not really my thing, but not awful.
2.4 Draft at the Marlin Bar. Pours a clear amber body with thin white lacing. Nose is bitter hop and sweet malt. Mouthfeel is bitter, astringent and spicy with noticeable malt character drowning out any semblance of a hop profile.
2.8 Transparent, dark yellow with white foam. Toasted cereal malt nose with some grassy hops. Taste starts sharp, but the malts take over and smooth it out. Woody, some caramel and a bitter, resin hops finish. Medium body, light fizz.
1.9 Pours a clear amber with light tan head. A malty base with caramel. A malt based taste as well with caramel, grains and light fruits. A dry malt aftertaste.
3.2 Pours an iced tea brown with an off white medium head of foam. Fairly descent taste and very smooth. Somewhat ordinary but enjoyable.
3.0 Bottle at home. Amber of color with an off white head. An aroma of malt, sweets and fruity. A flavor of malt, caramel, hops and fruity. -- rated with beerbasher/winphone
3.5 Tasting flight at the taproom in Denver. Amber with an off white head, honey biscuity malt aroma. Medium bodied with a chewey texture. This is a malt forward Amber Ale that is very English in style, the first decent beer I tried at this taproom.
3.0 Bottle in hotel room Orlando 2016.... Dark amber sweet toffee fruit nose... Woody toffee malts... Light hint of sour but not quite.. Soft toffee fruit.. Soft malts
