3.4 Typical Pilsner aroma, maybe a bit hoppier though. Clear straw color with a thin head. Taste has a nice Pilsner base with more hops than you would expect. Finishes crisp and clean. Very easy going down.
3.7 Draft at Columbia Ale House. Golden with persistent white head. Clean aroma of grassy hops. Distinctly pilsner but with a malty palette and boozyness not usually associated with the style (hence Double). Nice grassy floral hop flavors. Finish is hops and enjoyable bitterness. Very nice.
3.4 Draft at GBD in Washington DC. Poured a clear golden color with a small white head. Aroma was some light grassy hop notes, corn, and some light lager character. Flavor was grassy, sweet malts.
2.7 Draft. Hazy golden yellow color, medium white head. Aroma of peppery straw and green apples. Taste is bitter, peppery and a bit vegetal.
3.6 Cloudy light orange pour from draft at headquarters. Tons of fluffy white head. Orange and lemon aromas. Taste is hoppy and bitter for a pilsner. Grapefruity and earthy taste. Pretty good. Served a little warm
3.3 bottle. Golden with one finger head. A bit sweet, but not as cloying as some double pils that I’ve had. Rather mild hop-wise -- could up these a bit, I’d think. Pretty good for a somewhat hard to find style.
2.0 12oz bottle. Small off-white head atop hazy light amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, spicy, some honey, bread, light orange. Taste is moderately sweet, orange, some honey/bread, lemon, light alcohol. Medium body, some stickiness, resin, light acidity, low carbonation.
3.5 pours unclear bright yellow with a small creamy white head, some retention and lacing. pils, graininess, interesting fruitiness - peaches, sulfur, floral and spicy leafy noble hops, whitte wine, seven-up, tingling pepper, lemon. moderate carbonation, light body - oily, balanced floral-grassy-citrusy-peppery finish. malty. noble. tasty. enjoyed!
3.2 I had this at Flying Saucer. Pours clear yellow with a white head. Taste light fruit , floral. I thought this was good. I could drink this again.
3.5 Bottle 341ml. Pours slightly hazy golden with low white head. Minimal lacing. Aroma is of citrus, yeast, malt. Taste is of citrus, yeast, slight bitterness, grain, some sugar. Palate: Light-medium body. Good balance. Overall: Pretty good. Fruity. Smooth. Nice grain.
3.3 Clear pale golden pour with large white head. Lingers to a thin line Mild sweet grassy and malty. Smooth body almost with a corn softness Slightly sticky bitter finish. Alright..
3.2 A basic pils with a surprisingly malty and bready backbone. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy bright yellow color with a large fluffy yellow -white head that left very good lacing. The aroma was somewhat bitter with a bit of a tangy and sour undertone and notes of lemon, perfume, bread and chalk. The flavor was dryish and bitter with a crisp perfumey presence and notes of citric hops and a surprisingly strong bready and malty undertone. Long bread and malty finish with almost honey and lingering lemon and perfumey hops. Moderately full bodied. The alcohol was well contained. Quite nice for what it is.
3.0 pours a golden color with a small white head. the aroma is yeast and citrus. the taste was similar. this beer didn’t do it for me.
2.9 Bottle on 06/09/2011. Mostly clear golden body with a small frothy white head. Sweet honey and grainy malt aroma. Sweet honey flavor, some toasty notes and a bit of grain. Medium body with moderate carbonation.
3.3 Pours a murky yellow with a huge bubbly white head that lingers. Light aroma, of yeast, malt, lemon. Smooth taste, of sugar, malt, bready sharp yeast, grapefruit. Lingering citrus yeast. Nice.
3.2 Pours a slightly hazy pale golden color with a small head and bits of lacing. Aroma of citrus, some malt sweetness, grain and bit of spice. Taste of citrus, mlat sweetness with a bit of honey, some grain and what seems like a trace of pepper. Nice bitterness, and a clean finish. Failry light body, crisp, clean and refreshing. Enjoyable pilsner with a bit of character and zest.
3.0 12oz single from Crossroads. Poured a bit thinner than I was expecting, solid clear gold body with a smaller to almost average sized bright white foamy head. Aroma is dusty chalk, green grape skins, dry bread crusts, corn husk. Body once again is a bit thinner than I was expecting, lighter carbonation and a chalky aftertaste, watery overall. Flavor is the same as the aroma. Blah, not bad but when something claims to be Imperial I’m looking for a "Big" beer not just a tiny bit pumped up.
2.2 This poured a pale yellow color with a white head. Aroam was of corn, grass and lots of alcohol. Flavor was sweet pale malt, alcohol and mild noble hops. Stop imperializing pilsners!
3.0 Carpet. All the flavors expecting in Pils but not pronounced. Honey sweetness lingers, noble hop is mute. Drinkable but not great example of style.
3.9 This is one of the better beers from Breckenridge. Light and crisp with a strong bitterness and potent amount of alcohol.
3.4 Nice looking 12 oz bottle pours hazy golden. Tons of sediment at the bottom of the bottle. Tried to pour slowly to avoid it, but pretty sure some got through. Tons of damascenone in aroma and flavor. Just grape big league chew all the way through. Pretty dry finish. Definitely full-bodied for a lager. Pretty nice.
3.6 Perfect for what it is. A slightly hoppier version of a pilsner with a nice ABV boost. Hazier than a normal pils, but has a nice head and good clean taste and crisp maltiness.
3.1 On tap at Breckenridge Brewery & BBQ. Gold and clear with a white head. Pilsner malts, pale malts, noble hops and light fruit. Medium body with a crisp, clean feel. Medium bitterness and light sweetness with a smooth finish. It was OK.
3.2 Not enough time to explain, but it was a pretty good experience. Nice color, great palate, and an awesome bottle.
3.2 Bottle. Fairly clear yellow-gold pour. Smaller white head. Grain and cracker, booze comes out, a bit syrupy and rich. Nice!
2.6 Pours a clear gold with a finger off creamy head. A touch of lacing down the glass. Smell is a bit of malt sweetness with a little cracker grainy aroma. No hops in the aroma. Starts off with a little cracker malty flavor. Just a touch of hop spice in the finish, but it is quickly overwhelmed by an intense grainy sweet finish. Not too bad until that sickingly sweet finish. A little bit thick and medium carbonation levels. Whoa that aftertaste really doesn’t work for me. I’ve had worse, but this is far from the best.
3.7 12 ounce bottle into lager glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly hazy golden straw color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon, orange zest, pear, apple, pepper, cracker, bread, floral, grass, light pine, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of malt, hop, and yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon zest, grapefruit, orange zest, pear, pine, cracker, bread, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Fair amount of pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon zest, grapefruit, orange zest, pear, pine, cracker, bread, floral, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance of malt, hop, and yeast flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice imperial pils. All around well balanced hop, malt, and yeast flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.
3.4 Nice beer. Aroma was very hoppy. Fresh cut grass and hay. Pour was a beautiful clear light gold color with a thin off white film for a head. Taste was nice and hoppy. Strong bitterness with grain, light malt and grass. Nice bitter finish. Would’ve loved this beer to have more carbonation. That would’ve pulled this beer together perfectly. Never would guess this beer was 7% by the way. Hides the alcohol incredibly.
3.2 Bottle. Grainy malt, hay, and a little citrus peel hops aroma. Slightly hazy golden yellow with a small white head. Sweet grainy-bready malt, light fruity-grassy-hay hops flavor. Medium body, soft carbonation.
2.9 Sampled at the 2013 Artisans Craft Beer Festival. It poured a golden color with a small white head. The aroma was of grassy and floral hops. The taste was a little sweet and the alcohol was very noticeable. Decent.
