Breckenridge Trademark Pale Ale

Breckenridge Trademark Pale Ale

Demanding beer for demanding beer drinkers -- that's our Pale Ale.

We craft this American pale ale with hearty amounts of pale and Munich malts, then balance it with lofty amounts of hops throughout. It's a finessed version of hop-head fun -- a black diamond beer without the bumps and dangerous curves.

2.7 Another simple pale ale with a bit of hoppy bitterness that fits well with the overall flavors from the malts.
3.5 Tap @ Breckenridge brewpub, Downtown Denver. Pours light golden with a white head. Aroma of malt, bread, grass, pine. Taste is bready malt, grass, floral hops, pine. Medium body, soft carbonation, lightly bitter finish. 290212
3.5 On tap at the brewpub in Breck, CO, pour was clear yellow-orange with white head, aroma brought notes of floral and grassy hops, hints of caramel and biscuit, slight earth. Taste was a nice clean mix of grass, pine and floral notes, hints of sweet biscuit and caramel, finishing fairly dry and very crisp. Nicely done.
3.7 Draft at Breckenridge. Pours a lighter amber with a fluffy head. Nose is pretty nice, floral and faint citrus. Some dusty malts as well. On tasting, pretty straightforward pale. Nice level of bitterness balanced by the malt profile. Really fresh and floral. Really enjoyable, actually.
3.3 Slight dry hop mixed with subdued malts, don’t get me wrong its a decent APA, its just no where near the greats.
2.8 tap at the brewery. This is one of the acceptable members of breck’s otherwise offensive portfolio. Lightly hopped pale ale, grassy, light citrus.
2.8 Slightly hazy gold, with an aroma of grassy pine hops, very little malt on the nose. Taste brings the toasty malt out, as well as some curious green bell pepper notes. Thankfully that part doesn’t linger too long. Finishes delightfully bittersweet. Odd. Not very hoppy and not very malty, but not "blah". Slightly skunky ripe fruit esters. Not terrible, just wouldn’t reccomend.
2.7 Tap @ Denver location. Golden orange appearance with an off white head. Still citrus hoppy, pale malty nose. Citrusy hoppy, bland pale malty flavor. Boring.
3.1 Pretty average pale ale with unforgetable flavor. Definitely not enough hops to suit me. It’s sad when companies try to appeal to the masses and distribute just subpar beer when you know they could make much better brew. Try their small batch 471 IPA and you’ll know what I’m writing about
3.1 Tap at Breckenridge BBQ. Pours a hazy golden amber with a small bubbly off white head. Aroma of light caramel and citrus notes. Flavor of orange. other citrus notes and caramel.
3.3 Tap @ Breckenridge. Clear golden yellow with a creamy head. Mild citrus and herbal hops with some light bready malt. Very balanced flavors, the sweet malt and bitter hops play well together. Typical Pale Ale mouth feel and drinkability. Nice.
3.9 12 ounce bottle-a cloudy orange pour-white head -aroma and tasteof citrus, pine,fruit-sweet smooth refreshing finish -good beer
1.8 Tap at brewpub. Pours a thin cheddar orange with an aroma of watery candied malt. Flavor is watery sweet malt. Watery mouthfeel. I wrote "Secede." for my overall impression; why I did that escapes me right now.
2.6 Cloudy orange pour tiny white head. Sweet malt and fruit scent. Taste is citrus sweet at first with a hint of dry hop on the back. Not something I find appealing.
3.1 Draught at brewpub. Radioactive pumpkin color with medium white head. Aroma of willamette hops, earth, grass and resin. Taste is floral sweet initially and finishes lightly bitter. Light to medium bodied.
3.4 not a bad pale. i like the hoppy floral noteson the nose. slight sweet caramel finish on the palate.
3.6 Bottle pours golden with thin whte head. First taste is malt and little citrus notes. Finish is sweet with citrus in the end.
3.0 On tap at the Ale House in Grand Junction. Pours a clear golden color with a medium white head. The aroma is sweet hops. The taste is more of a balance between a full fruity hop and lots of rich malts. Sort of easygoing and nice.
2.6 Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival. Cleargolden, minimal head. Lemony nose. Sweetish with clean, hard mouthfeel. Lemony hops lead up to slight resiny finish. A pale ale on the simple side.
3.5 Shaker pint pour at the brewpub in Breckenridge. Pour is cloudy hazy orange amber with a small white head. Very fine carbonation streaking to the top. Fair amount of lacing. Nice looking. Aroma of floral hops, slight resin, biscuit toasty malt behind that. Nice, but a little too faint. Taste is the floral hops initially, some dirty resin bitterness near the back, also the biscuit malt holding it together. Orange citrus mild sweetness comes out as it warms. Nice balance. Palate is medium, low carbonation, prickly bitterness. This was nicely drinkable.
3.2 malty nose leads to well balanced flavor with enough hops for the style and maybe even then some. i could almost do without the soft malty palate but balance is deserving of its own accolades within this style.
3.1 Pours hazy golden brown with a small white head. Aroma is light, citrusy hops and a little bit of lemongrass. Flavor is fairly light as well with a little pale malt flavor as well as a bitter finish to go with the slightly citrusy hop flavor. OK.
3.4 12oz bottle. Filtered golden-orange color, small fluffy head. Mildly sweet hop aroma. Middle of the road hoppiness with a sweet malt backbone. Has some decent tastes up front, but finishes quite watery. Hyper-sessionable, but lacks much complexity. Not bad, but not so memorable either.
3.0 Not bad....hoppy aroma, with some hints of pine and resin. Flavor was similar to aroma, with some malty backbone. Nothing really stood out, but there was nothing terrible about it.
2.9 Pours a cloudy, very dark golden/yellow/orange color, smells of hops and grains. The hops are very prominate, not much head, nice on the palate, bitter hop aftertaste
3.3 A golden ale with ahtin lacing white head. A light malty aroma with restrained hops. In mouth, a nice crisp ale with nice light c-hops. A good starter for the sampler rack! Medium bodied. On tap at Ballpark brewpub 24 Jan. 2009.
3.1 Very hazy blonde ale with a slight head and not much lace. Plenty of grassy hops in the aroma. Plenty of lemony citrus in the flavor, sort of a weird sweetness. Overall nicely bitter. It’s pretty good.
3.0 On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear yellow-amber with a small white head. Aroma of malt and a bit herbal. Taste of malt, hops, grass, and pine. Lingering grassy-malt flavors. Drinkable.
2.9 The pour is a cloudy orange with a lasting white head and nice lacing. Real grassy hop aroma is more reminiscient of an IPA but whatever. Grapefruit and piney hop flavor. A bit of caramel sweetness in the background but the story of the day is those hops.
2.8 Pours a nice slightly dull honey with a 1 finger chunky white head that has decent retention. An interesting aroma, caramel malt, mostly pine hops, some floral, and a sweet grainy malt character I would guess from the munich malts because it seems german. Flavor is caramel malts and plain biscuit at first, citrus and planty hops, grainy malts and more caramel in the middle. FInish is mostly pine and bitter with a sort of burnt caramel fade. Not bad but not that good.
