Breckenridge Vanilla Porter

Breckenridge Vanilla Porter

Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.

2.8 12 oz can poured into a pickle jar. Fourth beer out of five tasted from a 15 can variety pack. Love porters and stouts, thus excited about this one. Disappointed is what comes to mind. Try it yourself and see what you think! Ps. It's too bad that BB sold out to the beer devil...!
3.4 Clear brown color pour with a mocha color head. It has a vanilla aroma with a creamy chocolate flavor profile. Sweet. A bit thin on the tongue. Good.
4.2 Smooth and great taste
2.6 12oz bottle poured into tulip glass. Pours dark brown with a khaki head. Aromas of vanilla, chocolate and caramel notes. Light lacing in the glass. Decent beer. Light mouth feel.
4.0 Breckenridge Vanilla Porter has a thick, crackling, beige head, and a clear, bubbly, red-brown appearance, with minimal lacing. The aroma is of faint dark malt and perhaps vanilla. There is a similarly faint flavor of dark malt, cocoa powder, and some vanilla. No bitterness is detected. Breckenridge Vanilla Porter has a medium body and a medium-dry finish. RJT
3.5 6 pack from Safeway in San Jose, CA. Aroma is vanilla brownie, marshmallow, caramel, burnt sugar, maybe some s’mores? Taste is thin, earthy, slightly creamy...more of a brown ale than a porter but overall pretty drinkable.
2.9 Pours dark but reddish translucent brown with a nice tight head that laces very well. Fine texture on the head. Excellent presentation. Nose of bread, malts and a whiff of vanilla. Taste is chocolate malt, a bit of coffee and is not too sweet. Good carbonation. A metallic sour aftertaste follows which is the downside of this beer. A bit thin and watery for a porter. It's OK.
3.8 On Nitro at denver airport. Similar to Mill St, very clean and velvety smooth. Fairly light in color though.
3.1 Mild vanilla flavor; overly sweet; not preferred but molly likes it
2.8 From a bottle to a glass. Pours a clear dark brown color with some dark copper heughs with a big frothy creamy slightly silky head. Aroma is light vanilla beans, cocoa, dark fruits and roasted malts. taste follows the aroma with a medium light mouthfeel. This beer is thin and watery and light taste and aroma. Not all that great.
3.7 Aroma : Roasted rich chocolate malt, some espresso coffee, subtle hint of vanilla and touch of earthy hop. Taste : Roasty sweet chocolate & coffee maltiness, only a subtle vanilla sweetness, with some mild earthy hop note. Mildly sweet all the way through with a thicker body than a traditional porter (I'd actually say this is a sweet stout)…Pretty good
4.8 A very good Vanilla Porter. I like it just as much as Leinenkugel's Snowdrift. In a tasting they were both hard to tell apart. And it’s readily available.
3.4 Bottle from Total Wine in San Jose. Pours with a dark black tan color, with fast fading small foam. No retention. Leans dry. Very light malty sweetness. Decent.
3.2 Chocolately, roasted malt with a faint whiff of vanilla. The overall palate is decent and drinkable. Although, I wouldn't have more two of these because it's just okay. I was really hoping that it would have a more distinctive. vanilla flavor, but I couldn't detect much. I think it's a tad bit over hyped, but good nonetheless. So, would I buy it again? Maybe, but there are several I'd be more likely reach for before this one.
3.3 0,3 litre Bottle from Total Wine And More, Laguna Hills, Ca. Dark brown with little head. Roasted malts, vanilla, coffee, Chocolate.
4.0 Creamy, vanilla
3.3 I had it poured in a glass. It pours a dark brown with a tan head. The aroma is vanilla, chocolate, and caramel. The taste is vanilla, light coffee, chocolate, and milk. It's a bit thin. There's a lotta sweet and not as much bitter as I'd like. It's okay.
3.5 Ar: ledwo wyczuwalny, kakao, mleczna czeko, sladowa kawa, migdaly, nieco wanilii, ciemny slod. Wyg: czarne, klar, piana gruba, drobna, super lacing. Sm: wysycenie srednie, super wanilowo-czekoladowe, lekka tlustosc lakto, slodko i kakaowo. Pos: czekolada, minimalny kawo-kwasek. Ov: super czeko-wanilia, ale mogloby i powinno dziac sie wiecej.
4.0 This is far from being rich as it says in the description, but it is nice good beer for me. Light and watery but that certainly gave the beer not disgusting ending. Toasted being the overall taste, has nice scent of vanilla that is not too much.
3.4 12 oz bottle into shaker. Pours a bit thin for a porter. White/beige lacy head. Heavy vanilla and typical porter aroma. Mouthfeel is a tad thin for the style. Loses most of its head fairly quickly. Somewhat malty with a real vanilla flavor, unlike some vanilla beers that can taste artificial. The not-so-thick mouthfeel and moderate alcohol make this one of the few session porters around. Very common in the Denver area, and a bit better on tap than out of the bottle.
3.2 Decent porter tastes of chocolate and roasted bark.. have you ever licked the bark of a tree monkey boy?
3.4 On n’a un goût de vanille qui domine avec un coté chocolat ,bonne bière . ...
4.0 Very light porter but good tasting and not to much vanilla taste
3.4 A nice hint of vanilla without going overboard. Light weight for a porter, goes down easy. Bottle at the Burbank airport.
4.0 I have picked up this beer, at the drinks of the world, at Bern, trying this beverage, at home, in Epalinges, two days ago, during my seafood pasta meal. In my point of view, it is a good vanilla porter, not disgusting and well balanced, I could say that it is a rather light porter, a bit watery, some roasted malt, discreet side of coffee, hop and good dosis of vanilla, easy to drink.
3.5 Aroma of roasted malts. Dark brown pour. Taste is vanilla, roasty, bitter chocolate, malts, oats. Taste is a little watered down than it was used to.
3.2 330 ml bottle. Bought in www.casadelacerveza.cl. Dark color with hight head. toasted smell, but not much.Very toasted taste, full of flavour, but not a lot of ending. Good!
3.8 Sweet, malty, not bitter. Almost like a bottle of soda
3.9 Very nice porter. The vanilla is not overpowering. Smooth and not burnt. I will order this again.
3.1 This could be a much better Porter IF it weren’t for the overwhelming sweetness and too much vanilla. Just my opinion, but I would personally enjoy it more if it were dialed back by about half.
