2.7Bottle sample at Beer Market TLV. Thanks Stas. Very dark brown. Aroma of malt, lots of berries, caramel, cookies, vanilla, a bit of chocolate. Very sweet flavor, kinda boozy, vinous, with malt, caramel, lots of berries and tart touch. Boozy oily mouthfeel. Too boozy.
3.837.5cl bottle at home from Only Good Beer, Budapest. Body is pitch black, head is flat, no lacing. Nose is grape juice, flavor is bubble gum, blueberries, honey, rosé, raspberries, dried fruits, light roasty and chocolate, light licorice. Medium to heavy sweet, light bitter, medium fruity sour. Finish is medium lasting fruity medium sweet sour with chocolate notes, alcohol is totally hidden. Full body, oily texture, nearly flat carbonation. Not quite easy, very tasty dessert beer, complex fruity aroma with great balance, rather wine than beer, not my style but this is surprisingly good.

Strong alcoholic shock. Followed very quickly by herbal flavor notes reminiscent of luo han guo (same color!!). Followed by prolonged sustained base notes of roasted barley and a wheaty aftertaste.
Strong yeasty nose, smells like Marmite.
Very hefty beer not only because of the alcohol content but more significantly because of the strong medicinal taste profile which is not for the faint of heart or beer neophytes.
Finishes with a very satisfying wet French kiss (with lotsa tongue) of a malty smack which lingers just long enough to leave you wistful and just a little giddy.
3.4Tap (TCBW15) (6+:4:6+:4:13+=3.3+++)
Sweet heavy fruity belgian aroma, alcohol definitely not hidden. Very pleasant fruity body - backed with dark berries. Very sweet, but that works as a sipper. Not too sticky either, as the sharpness of the berries counter the sugariness. The taste covers the alcohol behind the sugars and berries well, but it’s clearly a very hefty brew.
3.4Tap @ TCBW2015. 27032015. Colour is black with slightly brownish white head. Aromas and flavours: Alcohol, red wine, coffee, berries and roasted malts.
4.0Tap @TCBW2015. Very deep brown color. Small size, brown head, stays as a ring. Deep caramel, alcohol, fruity, roast, raisins, licorice, plums in aroma. Slightly sour, raisins, prunes, nice roast in taste. Long lasting prunes in aftertaste. Nice soft fizzy mouthfeel. Nice brew!
3.7Tap@ TCBW2015. Black colored, espresso head. Chocolate, honey, pralines, sweetness, roastedness in aroma. Flavor has dark chocolate pralines, molasses, honey and spicy notes. Long finish. Excellent .
3.7Tap@tcbw15. Dark brown black, tan head. Whoa, nice cherry fruityness, quite unexpected. Soft roast, some licorice. Med bodied, feels quite light, fluffy, easy drink. Red fruits, soft roast.

3.723.10.2014. Keg. Aroma of red wine and raspberries. Taste is slightly tart, raspberry, blackcurrant, saltiness, still also some wine-like, warmth of alcohol. This is good, different.
3.3Flaska från SB. Kolsvart, inget skum.
3.6375ml bottle shared at the Hoppy Pub, Thessaloniki. Dark brown almost black color with no head. Aroma is malty, light roasted, light chocolate, caramel, very fruity, wood and alcohol. Sweet and light bitter taste like aroma. Medium oily body with soft to flat carbonation. Sweet very fruity aftertaste.
3.7from Erzbierschof - pretty black beer with no head retention; woodyaroma with notes of tar, whisky, blackcurrants and licorice; full-bodied, thick and moderately carbonated; sweet and with a fair woody sourness; tart earthy finish with more notes of wood, black cherries, blackcurrants and - at last - notes of raspberries
4.2Bottle; thanks to my friend Kenny.
First off I would not depict this as a radler or a fruit ale but a definite Belgian strong ale. Now to the review.
It pours opaque with minimum head. There’s a load of booze on the aroma; some TCP; Scotch whisky casks; leather, oak. grains; blackberry muffins; fresh dough; tar and peat.
Taste is licorice; chocolate; tar; leather; vanilla; caramel; dextrine sugar; molasses; incredibly smooth; almost like drinking chocolate milk-shake. The balance is fantastic and the roasted malts are not ott.
The fruits work incredibly well against the assertive whisky flavour. There is a touch of honey as well. It’s actually the best Brewdog beer I’ve had for a long time. The quality just oozes in this one. Not ott sickly but well-measured. Some premium soy source and booze roll off the tongue. The finish is of blackberries; tar; chocolate and booze. It’s long and lingering.
I have been drinking Brewdog beers for a long time. This is what I want from Brewdog.
4.1How: Bottle Appearance: hazy brown, tan head Aroma: dark fruits, chocolate, vanilla, booze, Palate: medium to full body, smooth carbonation, long finish.
3.9Bottle 2657 of 9829. Almost black with a purple haze. No head. Roast, cassis and lots of berry fruit in the aroma. Hardly any carbonation. Malty sweet, caramelly roasty nutty flavor with lots of berry fruit. Well hidden alcohol. Coffee and cassis in the aftertaste.
3.5Bottle from brewdog bar, Sheffield. Black with no head. Aroma is treacle and tar, fruity and with tart berries and strong with whisky and oak. Very complex. Taste is syrupy sweet and tart. Surprisingly thin body but with oil, mild carbonation. Not bad, had better from the abstrakt range though.
4.1caramel, resin, barnyard, leather, leaves, cough drop, licorice, soy sauce, red, brown, minimal head, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, heavily sour, umami, full body, oily feel, average carbonation, long finish,
4.3Veramente una birra divina, con un corpo denso e ricco di note tostate che smorzano il grado alcolico, lasciando libero il palato di godere le ricche sfumature di cioccolato e bacche. Superlativa!!
4.0Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is liquorice, tart berries, taste is sweet and fruity with a hint of whisky.
3.437,5 cl bottle @ lusikka. Bottle #9482/9829, bottled 12.12.2012
Aroma feels stale with ripe fruits and some berries. Also some moldy tones, raspberries, blackcurrant and fruit-like perfume tones. Flavour has dark berries, blackcurrants and some licorice. Also raspberries. Salty and medicine-like, just like other Abstrakts. At the end of the glass raspberries take over, but it does not make this any better.
3.5375 ml bottle. Bottle No. 9482/9829. Bottled on 12.12.2012.
Pours dark red color with no head. Very berry-dominant aroma, some wooden notes, alcohol, blackcurrant and some fruits. Salty and fruity flavor, dark berries, some wood and faint yeast. Weird but decent.

3.8375 ml bottle. Pours a black colour without a head. Aroma of roastiness, some leather and chocolate. Flavour of roasted malts, strong tart raspberry seeds, some blackcurrant juice, saltiness, bread and some spiciness. Medium bodied and a dry, sweet, juicy finish. Quite unique and pleasant.
3.5375ml bottle
Bottled 12/12/12, bottle #9482/9829 - Pours pitch black with a tiny head. Aroma of berries, wood, hints of oak and yeasty maltiness. Taste is heavy with loads of berries, whisky, wood and juicy blackcurrant notes. Finish is smooth and oaky with loads of berries and blackcurrant notes. Quite strange berry juice.
4.3Draught at BrewDog Shepherd’s Bush on 16 September. Poured a thick, pitch black, with a thin tan head. Big aroma of blackberries, dark fruit and big malt. Mouthfeel was really thick and syrup like. Complex flavours of berries, sherbet, dark chocolate and black cherry. More cherry in the finish, with burnt sugar, pastry, straw and dried fruit.
4.5Aroma: caramel, red berries, hazelnut; Appearance: reddish brown, minimal head; Taste: medium sweetness, medium sourness, slight bitterness; Palate: long finish, soft carbonation, oily texture, full body.
A Porto among beers, long-lasting taste. A bit boozy.
3.9duft: brun farin. sød. lidt rugbrød. frugtig duft. lidt vin duft. lidt tobak.
smag: solbær. brombær. en smule brun farin, tobak. smager lidt af frugt vin. sød.
3.2Bottle, shared with Andrew. Black body with no head or lacing. Aroma of treacle, whisky and salted caramel. Flavour of sweet treacle and raspberry syrup. Strong alcohol. Medium body with a slick, oily texture. Soft carbonation prickle. A complex beer but it tastes a bit too boozy for my liking.
