3.0 Pours a dark body witha non existent head, not a single bubble. Aroma is rich barrel and malts. Taste is rather flat and mostly fruity malt flavours and barrel characters with boozy finish.
3.8 Bottle. Purple colour with tan head. Figs, nuts and malt aroma. Sweet, caramel, figs, nuts, malt taste. Medium to full body.
3.6 Bottle at Craigs. Pours deep brown with no head. Aroma is slightly sherry. Taste is dried fruit, spices, raisins, dates.
3.9 Bottle, on 2014-03-11 (#8437 / 16250), Cork and Cask. Pours dark coffee brown to black with a thin cola spritz that fades quick. Scent is mild. Sort of cherries, maybe. Cocoa. Taste is strong cherries, lactose, cocoa nibs, licorice/anise, maybe Scotch ale with some nice sour notes. Finish is a bit dry and bitter with some smokey properties. Very unusual and very great.
3.7 Eine echte Enttäuschung. BREWDOG!!
3.7 Backlog, ocena przepisana z untappd, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na ratebeer.
4.3 Bottle # 2068. Mahogany color. Sweet aroma: dried fruits, raisins, dried plums, chocolate, a lot of honey and malt. Taste: sweet, chocolate, fortified wine, dried fruit, raisins, a little coffee. Awesome.
3.2 Brown, small head, aroma of coffee, dried fruits, malt, flavor of coffee, dried fruits, malt, alcohol, weird, medium bodied.
3.4 Bottle in wine glass. Pours muddy brown with close to no carbonation. The aroma is much stronger. Soft hints of chocolate toffee and it pretty much stays there on the palate as well. After two years in the bottle it has become quite shy, but still elegant in a way. What I find interesting though is how it feels a bit watered down, like there’s a splash coming on the tail, even though it is close to 11% ABV.
3.6 375ml bottle from Brewdog online store. Dark reddish brown colour with a thin tan foam head leaving alittle lacing. Aroma of bready malt, molasses, caramel, raisins, chocolate. Taste is fruit cake, sweet, with caramel, treacle, dried fruits, raisins, some chocolate, coffee and earthy bitterness. Smoothish mouthfeel, medium bodied, low soft carbonation, dry warm roast bitter finish. Quite drinkable.
3.6 The palate of the Abstrakt series is rarely good, it feels thin and fizzy even though carbonation is often low. Same thing with this one. Otherwise I like it, the aromas are very subtle, with some sweet fruit cake, chocolate and coffee. The taste is good, really good! Balanced Abt/Quad with a hint of bitter coffee in the background. A good beer!
3.5 Bottle at Taps Beer Bar, Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy dark brown with little life. The aroma is smoky dry ash tray malt, light floral, sweet caramel. The flavour is moderate sweet with a rich smooth grainy alcoholic bitter palate. Fully bodied with soft carbonation.
3.5 Appearance- dark, mahogany, ruby tinge, not much head to speak of, just a few off-white bubbles. Aroma- port, red wine, fruitcake, cherry skins, caramel, dark fruit, boozy hints, slight nuttiness, marzipan, wine again. Quite a lot going on. Taste- Madeira wine, sweet fruitcake, coffee and chocolate, raisin and cherry, burnt cherry cake, treacle, almond, marzipan. Mouthfeel is juicy and flat, and pretty thin. Lots of flavours in here, let down a bit by the mouthfeel.
3.7 Bottle, Brewdog Leicester. Dark brown with a thin head. Earthy and smoky with cola and spices. Oily with pepper. Dark chocolate with vanilla oak barrel. Plummy with figs. Dry finish. Somehow quite thin bodied.
3.6 Pours dark brown. Aroma is oaky, booze and a little licorice. A nice, subtle, boozy oak flavour. Not outstanding but nice.
3.9 Bottle 330ml (2014) - cellared for 2 years. Served at cellar temperature. Pours a muddy dark brown. Head is small, off white and quickly dissipates. Aroma is rich and complex with notes of dusty rum chocolate cake, burnt caramel sauce, muscatels, sticky dates, vanilla, wood, coffee and some spices. Flavour is smooth with a very light roasted bitterness, red wine, chocolate, caramelized prunes, overripe figs, creamy oak and some light raisin toasty notes towards the finish. Full bodied with soft carbonation, slightly syrupy texture and a long warming finish. Amazingly well hidden ABV!
4.0 Oleoso color marrone scuro senza schiuma. Aroma di caramello, lievito e caffè, gusto dolce, setoso, caffettoso, con note di torta, cioccolato, liquore e malto. Corpo medio, setosa, oleosa, da meditazione. Buona!
2.9 Bottle care of Barry , pours brown with no head or lace. smells like plum, rye, Concord grape. Tastes like pretzel and malt.
3.9 Bottle at home. Two year old bottle. The color is clear dark brown with nearly no head. Aroma of dried fruit, brown sugar, wort, maple honey, nuts and chocolate. The flavour is similar with prunes, wort, oak and some alcohol. Has a stick and silky mouth feel, surprisingly light to medium body and a light bitterness. A pretty sweet quad, but quite tasteful.
3.4 Pours mahogany with zero head. Aroma lots of roasty coffee on the nose, Belgian yeast and some sweetness. Medium to thick mouth feel, light carbonation. Smooth taste of sweet classic quad followed by a watered down coffee flavour. This an easy drinking quad with a nice twist. But as far as this fits into the "abstrakt" series, disappointing and not worth the $$$.
3.8 0,375l bottle from Damian Bottle Shop, Bratislava, Pours hazy reddish brown liquid, minimal tan head, Aroma: red wine, alcohol, caramel, spices, candied fruits, Taste: medium to heavy sweet, medium bitter, light sour, sweetish, caramel, candied red fruits, warming alcohol, red wine, spices, Palate: full body, soft carbonation, oily mouthfeel, long bittersweet aftertaste, Overall: fine, enjoyed, but expected more.
3.7 KRS 140815. Dark amber colour with a beige head. Aroma is grain, malt, rye, dried fruits, caramel, alcohol. Flavour is grain , alcohol, caramel, coffee, rye, dried fruits, chocolate, roasted malt. Full body. Nice beer.
3.9 Bottle, thanks to my friend Clayton, Ale House Bottle Share, 1/12/2015. Aroma is weirdly like a Gales 500. Wtf, cedar, chocolate and smoke marzen malts. Taste is soft malts, chocolate, marzen malts and coffee. Really good. Less marketing bullshit and more genuine beers please Brewdog.
3.9 Tap at Local Pub, Athens, Greece. Color hazy brown with small head. Aroma malt, roasted, dark fruits. Taste sweet, malt, roasted, caramel, some fruits.
3.6 Brown with minimal head. Aroma is raisins, honey. Full bodied, slightly syrupy mouthfeel, sweet on the palate. Taste is honey, raisins, caramel.
3.9 0,375ml bottle at home courtesy of Sebilinz, big thanks. Bottled 03/2014, #2737. redish brown color, small off-white head. smells of grapes, wine, malty backbone, berries, some sweetness, some wood. very nice smell. full body, soft carbonation, oily mouthfeel. tastes malty sweet, grapes, wine, a bit acidic, light wood notes, marzipan, noticeable alcohol. finishes with light pines and red wineish notes. good stuff, a bit too alcoholic, not overly complex but drinkable. Overall nice, too malty sweet though, but has some hoppy / adicic notes on the finish.
3.6 No head whatsoever, despite fine carbonation in flat-looking, muddy cola-coloured beer. Vinous, alcoholic; raisins, plums and other liqueurish aromas. Tannines suggested, old wood. Again vinous flavour, but less depth; with chocolate, tobacco; and fine bitterish-herbal overtones on a sweet, portwine-like basis; raisins. Warming up, really lots of liquorice. Rather thin MF despite obviously a high final gravity; undercarbonated. CO² would definitely benefit it.
3.6 Bottle. Dark brown color. Malt, maple syrup and licorice in the aroma. Full bodied. Malty sweet liquorish sticky flavor with licorice, anis and maple syrup. Roasty, dried fruit. Low on carbon. Alcoholic but nice.
3.3 Bottled@Kaisla, Helsinki. Deep rubyish brown colour with a minor slightly off-white head. Aroma is chocolate, some ripe fruits, mild toffee and spices along with mild alcohol. Flavour is quite similar. Tasty, but a bit on the boozy side.
3.6 Bottle. Pours a murky brown with a quickly fading off white head. Aroma of nuts, earthy, caramel, woody. Taste is of nuts, molasses, hint of ginger, finish is sweet similar to a sherry. Soft carbonation, heavy syrupy mouthfeel.
