Bottled, Special Series. One of the most complex beers we’ve ever attempted. A blend of two barrel-aged imperial saisons - Black Jacques and Everyday Anarchy – one black, one red – which has in turn then been aged in rum barrels, it is an enormous, intricate beer.
A baseline of warm, smoky raisin and plum, followed by punchy flavour elements coming to the fore – coconut, mint and blackcurrant. There’s a long undercurrent of treacle toffee, before the finish darkens to liquorice, star anise amidst a touch of honey sweetness

3.8Impressive Christmas cake (marzipan) aroma in a purple black pour. Massive plum pudding flavor profile is impressive (albeit not really something I’m usually looking for in a beer). Makes for an excellent winter desert brew though.

Pours opaque black color with no head. Very vinous aroma, lots of ripe fruits, subtle spice notes, dark berries and alcohol. Flavor is also vinous dry, sweet ripe fruits, some wooden tingling notes, some alcohol burn, syrupy sticky sweetness at the end. Slightly better than I expected, but a Saison, no.

3.9375ml bottle (£10 from Brewdog online shop):
Rich & sweet beer with tonnes of complexity to it, I particularly enjoyed darker fruits & vanilla flavours combining with the subtle funk & tart of the beer. There was some boozy rum that at times was a little strong & warming but nothing more than was expected give the strength & it was definitely an excellent beer to sip away at. Overall this one was a really nice offering from Brewdog & one that grew on me more as I worked my way down the glass, it’s easily one of the best saison’s I’ve tried too.
