BrewDog Ace of Chinook

BrewDog Ace of Chinook

Single hop awesomeness, shining a spotlight on our favourite ingredient, the not so humble hop. Ace of Chinook has the ultimate poker face - this session IPA is low in strength but has an ace in the hole - devastating hoppy aroma & flavour.

This session IPA has been bombarded with Chinook. Mango, pine, and grapefruit explode from the glass, firing off from a light, complex toasty malt base. Low voltage, high amplitude hops, in their purest form.

3.4 Keg Third of a Pint at BrewDog, Clapham, London in May 2016 - Clear Orangey Gold in colour. Good white head. Excellent lacing. Fruity; orange and grapefruit citrus, tangerine, peach. Hoppy; piney hops, moderate hop bitterness. Malty; toasty malts, caramel. Sweet-bitter fruity hoppy throughout. Drying finish. Easy drinking. Sessionable. Tasty Session IPA. (2016-05-17)
3.1 Bottle, 330 ml from Pivoteka. Shared with Miro and JFK10000. Pours hazy yellow with small white head. Light to moderate hoppiness, some citrus, malty, some pine, sweetish, light to moderate bitter finish. Medium bodied. Not sure what happened here but this was disappointing.
3.4 Draft sample at Samo Pivo Belgrade, Serbia. 30.12.2016. Pour it hazy golden color with small white head. Aroma grass, spruce, cereal. Taste sweet tangerine, grapefruit, Belgian yeast, nice light bitterness at the end, ok decent, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, light to medium body, slick feel, average carbonation.
3.4 Bottled. Pours hazy golden colour with long lasting white head. Its aroma is somewhat messy with some hops, fruits and even some alcoholic notes appear. Its taste is only moderately bitter, rather fruity and the body is quite light - just as one would expect from a session IPA. Leaves a bit watery feeling on the palate; and has lively carbonation. Good session IPA, but nothing extraordinary.
2.9 Aus der Flasche getrunken (Direktlieferung von BrewDog). Recht klares Gold im Glas. Schöner weißer Schaum. In der Nase dumpfe Fruchtaromen. Als Session im Abgang eben etwas wässrig.
3.9 Bottle at home on 25th December 2016; received as gift. Hazy gold with thin off-white foam and scant lacing. Fruity hop aroma. Luscious grassy hoppiness in-mouth with nutty malts. Peach and plum fruits in the finish. Zingy mouthfeel and a fair amount of body. Excellent!
3.1 211216. Bottle from Beer Cartel. This beer is oh so drinkable with plenty of flavour and some nice fruit aromas all wrapped up in a sessionable mid range alcohol beer. Hoppy without the cloying resinous aftertaste.
3.1 Bottle 33 cl. Pours a cloudy golden with tons of tiny impurities and a white head. Nose is not really clean at all, there’s a flawed edge to the Simcoe freshness. Lightish body, fruity, dry and hoppy finish. Very drinkable apart from the nose. 201216

2.6 330ml bottle (KKK Ruoholahti, Helsinki) Pretty stinky hoppy aroma, a bit messy, some sweetish bready malts. Taste similar, more malt influenced, hops lower in the mix. Medium palate, OK carbonation. Slightly perfumey finish. Inoffensive ale, but a bit naff. Gets dirtier later.
3.6 From bottle contributed by and shared with OE at OSB 09.11.16. Slightly hazy straw colour. Off-white head and lacing. Fine aroma of peach, pears, tropical fruits, lime and succade. And pale malt. Balanced and quaffable!
