Our new 8.5% Imperial India Pale Ale is a ticking time bomb of a beer. Born To Die 04.07.2015 is even more heavily whirlpool and dry-hopped than the majority of our beers – with the sole intention of passing that level of flavour on to you, as quickly as possible. Hopped with Simcoe, Amarillo, Citra and Mosaic, from the moment it leaves our bottling and kegging line, it is on the clock.
Born To Die takes a huge amount from the brilliant Stone ‘Enjoy By…’ series of beers – and it is with the blessing of our good friend Greg Koch at Stone that we are putting our own BrewDog spin on the concept. To our knowledge, it’s the first time in Europe that something like this has been done. Born To Die is the definitive chance to let people see (and taste) the differences time can infer on IPA.

4.0On tap at Brewdog Norwich. Born to Die 05.05.2019. Hazy pinkish amber with a frothy off white head. Grapefruit and pine aroma. Quite sharp grapefruit taste.
2.5Off hop aroma, a bit oxidated. Okay taste but a bit astringent bitterness.
3.9330ml can at home. 13/9/18. Pours slightly hazy yellow gold, small white head. Nice juicy dank aroma of mango, apricot, a bit of pine. Taste is the same, a little thin and watery compared to the aroma but still very juicy. No booze burn at all.
3.4Tap at Brewdog Tallinn. Pours slightly hazy golden colour, small white head. Aroma is hoppy, bit boozy, apricoty, ripe fruits, bit tart. Taste is malty, hoppy, quite boozy, bit piney, ripe yellow fruits. Medium body, average carbonation. Boozy, but ok
3.9Couleur dorée; mousse blanche; arômes et goût maltés et fruités; un peu de résine aussi; l'alcool est assez discret; bière un peu sucrée avec finale bien amère
3.7The 8.5% ABV version of this BrewDog DIPA, apparently even hoppier than the first, 9.5% ABV version but I never had that one so I remain unable to compare; draught at BrewDog Brussels. Papery lacing, off-white, medium thick, moussy, stable head on a clear, deep 'metallic' orange-hued 'old gold' coloured beer. Aroma of herb cheese and old cheese rind, juniper leaves, spice bread, yellow grapefruit, spruce, cumin seed, gin, strong overripe onion, olive oil. Cleanish onset, vague apple peel and green banana notes, medium fizz, slick rounded mouthfeel, oily; clean bready and (too) lightly biscuity malts support a long, spicy, oniony, very piney hoppiness, providing wormwoody bitterness, very thoroughly bittering especially when it gets reinforced by a warming, gin-like alcohol glow. Old school 'West Coast DIPA', one for the committed hophead, but lacking a little bit in biscuity maltiness to go with the formidable amount of hops that went in here - yet still very enjoyable if you're into this style.
3.9Can courtesy of Geraint and Helen, cheers you two! consumed at home Sunday 26th August 2018 on day 2 of building the outdoor kitchen. Now inside cooking Greek Chicken with Greens, Capers and Skordalia. Pours light gold with a medium white head. Really nice bitterness and a pleasant IPA contrast to all of the NEIPA, a touch of pine resin and citrus. This is a really nice beer. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 3.9

4.3330 ml can from Beer Hawk, bb is rather obvious.
Orange/golden, hazy, white head.
Nose - massive citrus fruit with pine backbone and a touch of malt.
Taste - bitter, fruity, same aftertaste.
I had some mediocre beers today and saving this one for the last was fantastic idea.

4.3Can. Pours cloudy lively golden with a white head. Aroma of intense hoppiness in the kind of citrus, exotic fruits, slight pine resin, slight herbal. Taste is intensely dry, with a very high bittenress. Flavors of intense dry hops, exotic fruits, slight citrus, slight pine twigs, resin. Medium body, slick texture, lively carbonation.
Extremely hoppy, tasty. As the label says: "A eulogy to the hops that sacrificed themselves in its creation."
3.8Tough aroma of exotic freshness with notes of citrus, some hoppy herbal note and minimal pine resin with sprucy back. Cloudy orange in the glass with a medium head. Taste is dry with notes of harshy hoppy herbal notes with notes of citrus peel, lupulin, some herbs with astringent citrusy note. Intense and interesting, but bit overwhelming.
3.8Can. Hazy gold with an amber hue and a medium white head. Still lots of pronounced hops, tropical fruit, grapefruit, loads of pine, a bit dank. Medium sweetness, light tart notes and a soft, medium bitter finish. Oily medium body with soft, pearly carbonation. Still very nice.
3.6Bottle, 31.8.2016.
Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is jammy tangerines, oranges, pale malts, a bit sweaty. Taste is marmalade, pale malts, sweaty, resinous. Oily mouthfeel with low carbonation. Still very nice!
3.3Can from Booths, Media City. Golden with a head. Has a heavy tropical fruit aroma, with its strength not evident here. It is however evident once you start sipping, and does its best to subdue what is still a strong tropical fruitiness in its taste.
4.1Can 13.5.2017. Tasty, lots of juicy fruity hoppiness. Exotic, great. High bitterness, moderate perceived fruity sweetness. Easy drinking, ANV hidden well. Great.

3.8born to die 13.05.2017/ can; slightly hazy, yellow, white head.
lots of citric aromas, pine, grapefruit, caramel, very fruity.
medium bitterness, well balanced, full body,
3.6Pours hazy golden with a slight head.
Smells of pineapple with floral notes.
Tastes like a good IPA.
3.8Can 330 ml / Amstein - St-Légier (CH). Golden beer with a nice white head, fine and serene sparkling. Malted and fruity aromas, grapefruit-orange, marshmallow, notes of vanilla, lemon and zest. To the taste, the flavor of orange and grapefruit is net, the bitter of zest, grass and pine is put on a greedy malt. Juicy beer which leaves a bitter pleasant of citrus and pine without heaviness, it’s true that the alcoholic strength plays a role.
4.0Can at malja, kuopio. Almost clear golden color, white head. Aroma has fresh hops, grapefruits, citrus, some caramel notes. Nice fresh hoppy taste, some malty sweet notes, citrus, grapefruits.
3.8200517. Can at home. Pours clear copper with a nice head. Aroma hops, stingy alcohol like double IPA rawness. Pine. Some citrus. Has a bite to it, but not over cooked. Not your best balanced stuff but but nice all the same. Very pure. Not Bad.
3.6Tap, TCBW 2017 day one. No notes taken, only the score recorded. Will try to re-rate with tasting notes if possible.
4.1Born to Die 13.05.17 (Can): Aroma is pronounced hoppy DIPA-ish with a solid malty sweetness. Citrus and ripe mango. Taste is sweet and resinous, where the tropical fruits and light citrus oil showcases for a while before a distinct bitterness steps in and finishes the job. This is what I’m talking about, at last I feel like I’m back in the good old BrewDog days and I really enjoyed this one. Good Stuff
4.7Stunning beer! Pours clear blonde, with a strong fruity nose and a white foamy head. Taste is hoppy and tropical, with resin back.
Though th Huge amount of hop this beer is well balanced and extremely pleasant to drink!!!!!
3.8Tap @ Konttori. Pours clear orange, white head. Citrus, pine, malts in the aroma. Fruity, juicy, bitter, hoppy flavor.
