3.5 Pours a clear amber to brown with a finger of white head. Aroma is pine, grapefruit, marmalade, red berries and honey. Taste is sweet with a bitter finish, with a hint of plastic. A little thin for the ABV. Has promise on the nose but a little underwhelming.
3.6 Can from BrewDog fanzine Unexpected order in the chaos we are living in. Hoppy feel, NZ hops? Fresh, clean. Good
3.8 2020 version still at 7.1% Rocky off white head left a froth on a translucent amber coloured body. Tea, spices & red berry aroma. Medium bodied, light over the tongue with a nicely carbonated back. Sweet berry, spices, tea, light hops & pale malt tastes. Sounds boring but tastes like an Imperial Red Ale if such a thing exists Excellent!
3.7 Fanzine can. Dark clear auburn with a bubbly off white head. Gummy bear aroma. Tangerine Gummy bear flavour. Inoffensive.
2.8 330ml can (7.2% 2020 edition - no point creating a new entry is there?) Clear amber, off white head. Pine hop suggestions on the nose. Never got to try this the first time around 7 years ago but this sort of tastes like the kind of IPA that was brewed around then. Only, this tastes a bit weak, average and economically brewed, lacking the big resinous pine hit of the day. Disappointing.
3.7 Old sample with small taste and nose leaving soon. Great beer but still this one did not benefit from string.
3.8 Bottle. Deep Copper/Amber in colour. Very hoppy; lots of aromatic piney resinous hops, spicy, peppery. Very fresh & tangy. Resinous and oily in mouthfeel. Mega-citrus-fruity; lots of grapefruit and orange-citrus. Nice solid sweet malts; caramel and toffee. Nice hop/fruit/malt balance. Very dry hoppy finish. Very drinkable. Nice beer! (2011-01-05)
3.7 Pours a golden amber color with big fluffy head. Aromas of citrus, fruit, grass, and the best tropics. Flavors of tropical fruits and hops.
3.4 330ml bottle. Dark golden amber color with off white head. Malty and hoppy aroma, caramel, citrusy fruity, light pine. Sweet and biter taste. Medium oily body with soft carbonation
3.8 Draught at BrewDog, Camden on 4 Mar 2012. Poured a hazy amber, with a dense off white head. Aroma of grapefruit, Nelson Sauvin and sweet malts. Caramel in the flavour, with citrus hops and marmalade. Finish was tinned fruit, burnt sugar and grain.
2.5 Nja älskar egentligen inte denna men ibland måste man ju variera sig. Kan inte vara svart och svår hela tiden
3.6 Bottle at Craig’s tasting, bbe 2011. Huge crystal malt, sweet toffee, dry, grapefruit.
3.2 BB2011 but has held up remarkably well. Golden colour, abit cloting but still retains its IPA character. Needs somw sstructure&carb.
3.9 Bottle - clear dark amber with a slim white head. Hoppy piney aroma, sweet malts. Sweet malts in the taste, citrus, hoppy bitterness, alcohol notes. Long and late bitter finish. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, nicely balanced. Very nice.
3.0 Orangebrun farge. Noe hvitt skum som ligger i kant. lukter noe stenfrukt(fersken/plomme). Medium bitter. medium med kullsyre.
3.3 Orangebrun i fargen med lite skum. Moden frukt.. plomme belgisk gjær og humlelukt. Smaker godt bittert av humle.
3.0 Ganska ljus i färgen med mellanstort skum! Ok doft och smak men inget speciellt!
3.4 Keg at BrewDog Leeds. Pours a clear amber, finger of head. Aroma is peachy, grapefruit, resinous hops. Taste is similar, but without a huge punch. Quite malty caramel-ish, too. Medium body, fairly dry finish. It’s adequate, but nothing too special.
