A 10% decadent and indulgent Imperial Russian Stout. Brewed with a copious amount of dark malts, infused with coffee beans during the boil and after fermentation and aged on cacao nibs, vanilla pods and toasted oak chips. This opulent whirl of chocolate, coffee, dark malts and hops even rivals the most colourful of imperial Faberge eggs. Originally created to celebrate the Russian Royal Family, this is a fitting tribute with which to toast your own empire.

Piana brązowa, drobna, nieco głośna, dość szybko zredukowała do trwałej obrączki. W aromacie kakao i czekolada desreowa, likierowość i palona kawa. Gęste i wyklejające usta, gładkie, płasko nasycone.
4.1Tap pour. Pours a deep black with brown head. Soft nose with hints of cocoa. Medium body with strong dark malt notes at the front and hints of sweetness.
4.1Black stout. Strong smell of chocolate and coffee. Taste with chocolate, old-school licorice and a hint of vanilla in the aftertaste. Nice.
4.0Aroma of sweet chocolate, vanilla, malts and mild rye
Pitch black with very small brown head
Taste of coffee, chocolate, vanilla, licorice, rye and dark malts
Very mild carbonation with thick mouthfeel
Very nice!
3.8W aromacie bardzo intensywna kawa, taka typowa, parzona i kakao. Barwa czarna, piękna, drobna, beżowa piana. W smaku półwytrawne, kawa, kakao, lekko kwaskowe na finiszu. Goryczka średnia, palona, przyjemna. Taki ris w starym stylu, ma to swój urok.
4.2From HonestBrew, STRONG. Very Dark but good
3.5Petit pshit à l'ouverture. Couleur mazoute.
4.5Bottle, 2013 vintage. Rich roasted malt aroma with notes of dark chocolate, molasses, licorice, coffee and vanilla. Pours deep brown with a thin mocha brown head that has little retention and lacing. Starts with rich roasted malt, molasses and licorice as well as having a rich, full body and slick, viscous mouthfeel. Finishes impeccably smooth with dark chocolate, coffee and vanilla flavors. Wonderful imperial stout.
3.6Very dark beautiful beer, with a long lasting brown head. Aroma of coffee, malt and vanilla. Lots of bitternes from the roasted malt and coffee, but this stout is almost too plain. I miss some sweetnes and a more interesting palatte.
3.8Aroma denso a chocolate negro. Cuerpo oleoso. Final alcohólico y duradero.
4.0Pitch dark pour with very dark head. Sweet nose. Nice RIS with a very nice cacao tone to it!
4.0Aromat zmienny - mnóstwo czekolady, kakao, kawy, wanilii, melano, pralin owocowych, przypiekanego drewna i oczywiście alkoholu. Smak umiarkowanie słodki z lekką kwaskową i alkoholową kontrą.
3.9Draft at brewdog Manchester black pour tan head roasty chocolate cocoa milk notes excellent
4.0Pours a jet black with a light beige head. Aromas are big in cacao, coffee, roasted malts and liquorice. Flavour is a huge bitter mountain of cacao combined with coffee over a smooth backbone of dark roasted malt. Aftertaste is bitter but deep and long lasting. Very tasty
4.0Bottle from the BrewDog Webshop. Black pour with a tan head. Creamy coffee, cocoa, sweet tobacco nose. Strong cocoa taste, light bourbon, chocolate. Lots of alcohol warmth.
3.9can that pours unclear very dark brown with a very nice creamy dark beige head offering good retention and lacing. dark roasted caramel maltiness, burnt if not smoked raisins, strong and bitter coffee, no vanilla per se, plain wooden notes,
moderate to moderately low carbonation, medium body - oily; semi-sweet yet very bitter caramel-spicy-coffee finish. without adjuncts, this seems like a classic burnt caramel and smoked imperial stout - enjoyable.
3.9Piwo smoliście czarne, bez piany. W aromacie czuć gorzką czekoladę, sporo kawy, kakao, palone słody, przyprawy. W smaku piwo jet dosyć wytrawne, na pierwszym miejscu gorzka czekolada, kakao, na finiszu mocna kawa. Alkohol fajnie ukryty. Bardzo dobre piwo.
4.5bottle 330 ml.
pours deep black with a medium frothing tan head.
aroma is coffee, taste is chocolatey and coffee. full body, low carbonation. fantastic aftertaste with persistent liquorice. astonishing!!
3.9Bottle. Malty aroma and taste, roastyness, chocolate, light coffee, raisins, caramel, light sweet, medium bitter. Full body, malty chocolate bitter sweet finish with light alcohol warming notes. Good.
4.0This beer is an absolute psycho.. Very rich, creamy and delicious dark beer.
4.0Can. Pours black with a reddish tan head. Aroma and taste of dark roasted malt , cacao, and spices.
3.6Gezapft bei BrewDog in Berlin Mitte. Dunkle, nahezu schwarze Farbe. Kein Schaum. Sehr malzig Aroma, kalter Kaffee, bittere Schokolade. Haselnuss. Geschmack: schwere Süße. Bittere Schokolade, die lange im Mund bleibt. Kakao, Bitter. Ölig.
3.7Very rich and complex beer from "BrewDog" brewery.. Many people said that you cant go wrong with "Imperial Stout" beers and over time i understand the reason. This is a unique style and gives you so many flavors and great mouthfeels.
Anyway this specific beer is not my favorite of the style. I believe is a decent beer but nothing too crazy.. The taste has some extra bitterness and hoppy notes and that is not cup of tea but still the beer it gives you great mouthfeel.. Also many coffe notes here and some extra bitterness on the aftertaste.. Lastly the alcohol is very noticeable.
Overall a great beer.. Can satified you without problems. If you love some extra bitterness with a lot of coffe, this is the beer for you..
4.0Deep black with a hint of red in the head. Poors like liquorice sludge loveliness. Aromas of aniseed, roasted coffee and spices. Tastes of a balanced myriad of further roasted spices, cocoa, caramel and aniseed. Perfect for the onslaught of winter.
3.7Near black, creamy tan head quickly fades. At first it's like drinking straight liquified baker's chocolate and cocoa powder, but as it warms things get a bit more interesting, with notes of coffee, dark chocolate pudding, and molasses. Hint of soy sauce. Not bad at all.
Can from Perfect Pour in Columbia, MD.
3.9From Old Line in Beltsville, MD. 12oz can poured into a snifter. Appearance pours jet black in color with a one-finger creamy khaki colored head that has good retention. Aroma - rich dark roasted malt mixes with notes of cocoa, dark chocolate, dark fruits, fruit cake, caramel, licorice, vanilla & a hit of coffee to close it out. Taste - dark and roasty, with notes of charred malt, chocolate syrup, cocoa nibs, fig, raisin, caramel & anise. The finish brings out a hint of coffee, as well as more dark fruits and chocolate. Palate - medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a slightly creamy mouthfeel that continues into a slightly warming finish. Overall - big and bold, my only complaint is that I would have preferred a thicker mouthfeel.
4.0Bottle at Las Buenas Pulgas, served in a balloon glass.
Black colour, dark brown medium head with short retention, creamy lacing.
Aroma of chocolate, pharmacy alcohol, coffee, some varnish, a bit of smoke, dried fruits.
Medium body, creamy texture, normal carbonation. Cognac like finish.
In the mouth is more smokey, chocolate, coffee, varnish and booze.
Warming beer.
4.8Pours from the bottle dark and opaque with a thin dark brown head, rostey aroma, extremely complex taste, cacao sweetness is cut with the malt's roast, clean hop bitterness in the finish
