BrewDog Electric India (pre-2015)

This entry is for the original release of Electric India, at 7.2%, and the wider re-release at 6.5%. For the 2015, 5.2% version, see Electric India

One day. One brewery. Seven thousand co-creators. Two hundred brewers. The result? Electric India. This beer is the bastard love child of the craft beer revolution.

An unholy union between a Belgian Saison and an India Pale Ale; democratically brewed by our very own Equity for Punks shareholders.

Electric India is a hoppy saison brewed with fresh orange peel, lashings of heather honey, crushed black pepper corns and enthusiastically hopped with mountains of amarillo and nelson sauvin.

A beer for the people, by the people direct from the craft beer republic of BrewDog.

3.3 Barwa złocista, lekko zmętniona. Piana raczej mizerna, średnio pęcherzykowa, dość szybko dziurawiąca się. Aromat odrobinę chmielowy, dużo belgijskich drożdży, trochę przypraw. W smaku owocowe, średnio słodkie, przyprawowe. Wysycenie w stronę wysokiego, bardziej wytrawne niż półpełne, goryczka średnie dość długa z grejpfrutowo przyprawowym finiszem.
3.2 Bottle at csak a jo sor. Hazy yellow colour with a small white head that almost instanly diaapperas. Nose of dough and yeast. After a few minutes some tangerine appears. Taste is mild sweetness with some hop. Expected more hoppiness...
3.2 Bottle - Hazy golden colour, medium white head, fair retention. Sweet malty aromas of bread, biscuits, and a yeasty, sourish scent with some fruity hops. Taste of biscuits, some honey, yeasty notes, some sour sidetaste, medium spicy hop bitterness. Light to medium body, lively carbonation, dry and sour finish. Refreshing, enjoyable, but not my style.
Finale magique. CONCLUSION : une réalisation de maestria. Une gageure en soi, qui s’est transformée en un essai concluant. Grande maîtrise.
3.6 Quite hoppy saison with a good alcohol level. Not bad at all in line with brew dogs tradition!
2.7 Pale yellow color slightly hazed white head. Aroma of orange and spices, fruit, white grapes with A trail of american hops. Sweet taste. Dryish spicy finish. Strange mixture.
3.6 Bottle. Pour is gold with a frothy head, aroma is melon, banana, yeast. Taste is yeasty, sweet, ripe banana. Good
3.5 Bottle at home. Sweet yeasty aroma. Orange and lemon zest, black pepper and coriander seeds. Sweet and sour dry finish. Enjoyable.
3.7 Bottle. Clear and golden, big head. Aroma of citrusy hops, spices, some funkiness. In taste low sweet, light bodied with saison notes and citrusy finish. Medium bitter. Very nice beer.
3.7 Bottle. Clear golden color with medium head. Aroma is heavy citric: lemon peel, light saison notes, something tropical. Taste is sweet, light-bodied but complex: you can feel that there were a lot of components. Finish is medium, lightly bitter. Interesting experiment: saison + IPA.
3.4 Bottle. Clear golden ale. Aroma: hops, malt and fruits. Taste: malty, zest and even pepper, a little hop bitterness.
3.9 pours a cloudy orange beer under a little white foam; nice lace; very citric aroma, grapefruit and mandarins; fizzy and medium- to full-bodied, lively palate, decently sourish and quite dry; long grapefruity and tangerines-like hoppy finish
3.2 Tried on 13.6. at Bier-Bier saison tasting in Helsinki. A mildly hazy yellow body with a large white head. Nose has an unpleasant funky aroma. Taste is dry and fruitily bitter with a dry finish. Strong carbonation and medium palate. The taste is ok, a bit simple but the aromas were actually not so good.
3.7 Golden color, frothy white head. Hoppy dry funky nose. Nice dry hoppy mouth, a bit too hoppy finish. Definitely a big hoppy Saison, which I love.
3.7 Rotgold im Glas, in der Nase reife Früchte, Apfel, Trauben. Im Trunk vollmundig, leichte Süße, wieder Apfel, dann malzig bitter. Etwas unrunde Übergänge, dafür schön fruchtig-komplex. Der Alkohol passiert nur im Hintergrung. Nett.
3.4 Good, lightly yellowish head, over lightly carbonated clear metallic golden beer. Spicy, herbal nose, some yeast aromas, grass - and honey? Bitter -hoppy , and again herbal in the mouth. Garden herbs/weeds; dry. Bit of heat in the finish. Light to medium carbonation by MF; light body, slighlty slick. Quite decent.
3.4 Orange beer, white head, clear. Aroma of hops (citrus, hint of resin), fermented honey, a little bit of pepper. Taste: light sweetnes, med to high bitternes. Flavors of citrus and fermented honey mostly. Light-med body, med saturation. Overall: expected more.
3.4 I’m not a fan of IPA/saison hybrids - but this is reasonably pleasant - doesn’t rock my world though - sour and herbal doesn’t float my boat although this is better than most. One enough for me.
3.3 Draught at Brewdog Roppongi. Citrus/pine hops, caramel, apricot, earthy pepper, funky finish. Interesting blend but not a great balance though.
3.6 (tap 0,3l @ OP (Brno)) Aroma: Spicy, belgian yeasts, very light tart. Appearance: Clear golden color. Medium, white head. Taste: Medium sweet, spicy, fruity. Palate: Medium-full body. Fizzy. Spicy dry finish. Overall: Very interesting. Spicy.
3.9 Shared bottle. Clear golden with small white head. Aroma of malts, honey, elderberry, fruity, citrusy, herbal and grassy, spicy, but natural and fresh. Medium sweet, light bitter with some acidic notes, fruity, grassy, buttery. Medium body, thick texture, soft carbonation. Fresh, well ballanced.
3.5 0,33 l bottle from EDEKA Mohr, 6.5% abv, batch #241, best before 17/7/2015. Clear, pale golden yellow with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Pleasant, fruity-spicy aroma of orange peel, lemon zest, gooseberry, tangerine, peach, apricot and honey. Sweetish, fruity-spicy taste of orange peel, lemon zest, honey, gooseberry and apricot, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter and minimally tart finish. Medium body, slightly creamy and tart mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice beer, maybe a bit too old to reveal its intended hop character. It still has lots of aroma and flavour, making it highly refreshing. Good!
2.6 0.33L bottle. Cloudy yellow color with nice foami top. Citrus candy aroma. Floral, grass, barnyard, lemon tree leaves, caramel candy, sour wheat flavours. Nice medium bitter mouth feeling after drinking.
3.8 Aroma: spicy, pepper, fruity, citrus Taste: medium bitter, light sour, spicy, pepper, citrus, refreshing
2.8 I really enjoy a good saison, but this one was too bland for me. Faint aroma, distant black pepper and even the hops were subtle (and that’s saying a lot for a BD beer). I don’t know, the premise sounds really creative and the beer wasn’t bad, but definitely a disappointment.
3.4 In bottle. Floral and yeasty. Remains tasty till the very end. A great summer beer on the patio.
3.4 Bottle 33cl from Bierhall De Konink, @ home. A very belgian saison, a bit hoppier than usual. Easy to drink.
3.3 Bottle. Light hazy golden, low offwhite foam. Nice kumquat hoppy aroma, light spice. Medium light body, mellow mouthfeel. Peppery entry, fruity notes, both hops peek through, grass and pine dry finish, light fruity aftertaste. Pleasnt enough, but it seems like any sweet and fruity beer gets called a saison these days.
3.5 330ml bottle at the Hoppy Pub, Thessaloniki. Clear golden color with white head. Aroma is yeasty, funky, some bretty notes, hoppy citrusy. Sweet and light bitter taste, light funky, fruity, some caramel. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.
