This Imperial India Pale Ale Rocks... Hardcore! But don’t feel obliged to take our word for it, this little bottle has a grandiloquent story to tell. 2,204 malted Maris Otter grains gave all they had to offer the world to provide the robustly delicate toffee malt canvas for the ensuing epic. 4 Hop Cones willingly sacrificed themselves in fiery cauldron that is our brew kettle to ensure your mouth is left feeling punished and puckering for more. 9,900,000,000 yeast cells frantically fermented their little hearts out as the sugars were magically turned into alcohol in the dark depths of our fermentation tanks. 2 humans and 1 canine companion are relatively happy with the results
Note this is for the new petrol blue coloured labels with white lettering, which is 9.2%. Ratings for the older bottles with with bright blue label and black lettering should go under the first edition.

4.0good beer, easy to dink
4.5Very nice tasty, hardly bitter, strong.
Nice smell and color. Less foamy than 5 pm
3.0historical. 1.7.20 as Mr President

3.1Bottle from Systembolaget. Not a great smell that ranged from West Coast hop, quickly turning into a wet beach towel after being in the sea. Nice gold colour. Boozy for boozy sake really but tasting quite mature in all. Not bad but rather have a wine for that abv
3.73 finger off-white head. Dissipates after quite a while. Bits of lacing here and there.
Clear, deep amber to light ruby coloured beer.
Aroma of apricot & orange marmalade, grapefruit, sweet malts, red apple, lychee and a hint of dishcloth.
Taste of grapefruit, lightly soapy, lightly boozy, lime, mango and pineapple.
Mouthfeel is gentle in everything except bitterness but with a soft body that lullabies even that. Medium-high to high bitterness. Medium carbonation. Very drinkable for its strength.
Overall: Solid stuff, one of Brewdog's best IPAs that holds up even today. I really like the tropical fruit twist to the overall more WC-leaning profile.
3.8Tasted as BrewDog Mr. President. Amber colored, small beige head. Aromas of malt, grapefruit, alcohol, caramel, pine and apricot. Taste of malt, alcohol, grapefruit, pine, seville orange and resin.
3.8Mr. President Defiant DIPA
Amber colour work a large head.
Aroma: hops, caramel, orange, citrus, caramelised orange peel, some pine.
Taste: hops, caramel, bitter orange peel, some floral notes, some pine. Heavy bitter aftertaste with some sweet notes in the foreground. Ripe fruits.
4.3BrewDog Mr. President Defiant Double IPA 9.2%. Dark amber, tropical fruit aroma, full bodied, caramel malt, stewed tropical fruit, mango, lychee, complex flavours. Stunning DIPA from Ellon 🏴
1.4Bonne IPA, assez forte en goût
4.133cl bottle as “BrewDog Mr. President” from BrewDog Online Store. Finally, I am going to rate this, one of the few beers that’s started my attention about craft beers.
F: medium, tan, good retention.
C: amber, light hazy.
A: orange, passion fruits, tangerine, pine resin, grapefruits, lychee, pineapple, bit spicy.
T: a lot of fruity feeling, mango, pineapple, lychee, orange, caramel, bit honey, pine resin, long lasting bitterness, medium carbonation, very nice balanced for the style, fully enjoyed.
3.9Viscous umber appearance in the glass, scents of grapefruit, hops and toffee, tastes immediately of hops and dried fruit, sharp at first, swiftly evolving into an incredible bitter, super-hopped taste that lingers. Very good indeed.
3.0Burnt fruit, pineapple sweetness. Not for the faint hearted
3.4Pours dark amber with low to no foam head, pineapple and sugar on the nose, heavy mouthful, piney bitterness up front with a hint of toffee
4.1nagyon ott van a szeren
úgy dupla hogy már inkább tripla
gyümölcsös ipa a javából
3.4Grosse amertume, mais passe très bien
3.5Mr President: pours a deep amber, with a big frothy off-white head which dissipates relatively quickly. Boozy aroma, vinous and sweet, Sherry-like, the taste is alcohol fuelled with toffee and citrus bitterness, leaves a fruity aftertaste along with an alcohol finish.
4.8Pours an orange coloured beer with a white frothy white head
Notes of roasted toffee caramel and malt beer with roasted toffee biscuit
3.8Mr President, 2019 name. How I hate it when you realise that you've had this previously as Hardcore IPA. A 330 bottle both time. This time it pours a dark amber with a white foamy head. Aromas & tastes of tropical fruits, caramel, toffee & malts. Medium body. Long bitter finish. Alcohol is well hidden. Excellent
3.9Rosey amber pour, thin whisp of a head and lively carbonation. Aromas of caramel built on a monster malt bill. Flavours include hints tropics and pine but this is all about East coast Americana and bitterness. Maybe not everyones cup of tea, but a very decent, easily available DIPA.
Earlier Rating: 10/23/2019 Total Score: 3.9
Deep bronze beer with minimal head and carbonation. Aroma of fruit, sugars, malt and sweet metallic finale. Tastes of balanced bitterness akin to American west coast IPA’s, caramel, aged barrels, bolshy levels of booze that seem comfortable with the world.
3.8Very strong, fruity
3.7Can 440ml.
Look: clear dark Amber with an off-white head. Moderate carbonation.
Aroma: pale and caramel malt, corn, alcohol
Body: medium end of thin
Taste: malty, nice bitterness, biscuit, toffee
Overall: classic bitter IPA
3.8Copper coloured, small head, full body, wood bark, slightly hoppy and fruity. All in all, very tasty ale.
4.7Strong toffee taste, but very drinkable
5.0The name fits, this is the president of beer.
4.0500ml can from Tesco. Aroma is fruity, grassy and hoppy. Flavour is fruity and malty, dark berries and toffee, bitter hops. Fairly sweet. Finishes with more hops. Very full-bodied and smooth, with fine carbonation.
3.7Called mr president. Very strong and very nice
3.8330ml bottle back in 2012. It’s a shame that they discontinued this, as I always liked it as one of their staples. Deep golden. Resinous hop and pine aroma. A really quintessential west coast DIPA.
