Hello My Name Is Vladimir is our tongue-in-cheek, limonnik berry infused double IPA. It is the latest in our Hello My Name Is... series, but rather than continue our Scandinavian journey, we’ve travelled east to Russia, to poke fun at uber-hetero Vladimir Putin.
This beer is our first foray into controversy with a cause greater than our own. An ironic beer, but one backed up with some serious flavours.
On the nose there’s a huge explosion of audacious liberally- minded US hops, against a robust yet elegant malt backdrop.
Flavours of malt sweetness and a touch of acidic berry sharpness combine and give way to an avalanche of lightly toasted, fruity blueberry muffin malitiness, followed by a rush of piney resinous US hops to the sides of palate.
The piece de resistance; a mind-bogglingly bitter, yet tongue- twisting tart finish, with both flavour profiles fighting it out to see who will last the longest. The result; a finish as long as a cross-country topless ski journey through Siberia.

3.7Bottle at Cafe Sara, april 25th 2014. Amber body with a big white head. Aroma of strong pine with tangerine, peach, lemon and hints of bread. Taste is quite clean of ripe exotic fruits, pine, caramel, with a light tart and sweet finish.
3.8Pours clear amber with medium white head. Nose is fully hoppy with notes of tropical fruits. Aromas are tropical fruits (pineapple, mango, lychees) and a hint of resinous pine. Long and bitter finish, balanced by a sweet note. Very nice IPA, no surprise, but very good stuff here!

4.4330ml bottle of one of BrewDog’s finest. A lively drink which was quite sweet and fruity, but also citrussy and bitter. Not for everyone but definitely one of my favourites. Of course a brilliant tongue-in-cheek protest to Vladimir Putin.
3.4330ml bottle from BrewDog Glasgow. Dark orange amber, reasonable head. Sweet resin hop aroma. Light pine hop flavour. Sweet aftertaste. Doesnt feel like 8.2%. A bit too sweet for me.

3.3Vad säger man. Blir inte mycket coolare än så här. Synd att den inte är lika god som den är fräck
4.0Bottle. Amber pour with a decent lasting head. Nose has loads of mango and grapefruit, lovely! Taste has grapes, grapefruit, pineapple, mango, lemon juice and some sweet biscuits. Surprisingly good!

3.920-JUL-2014, bottle @home, from Utobeer, London.
Just slightly hazy golden with low white head. Aroma is hops. Mostly citric. Grape fruit, lemon, pine. Taste the same but also a touch of something berry-like. Very fruity. Very bitter. Medium body and carbonation. Sweet and bitter. Fine IIPA.
3.5Bottle: deep golden, hazy, persistent off-white head; red berries and grapefruit in the medical-bitter nose; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium- to full-bodied; lingering grapefruity and cough-syrupy finish, balanced by sweet caramel. Pretty good, but not earh-shakin’…
3.5Bottle from some random Vinmonopol enjoyed at home
Copper hazy, massive beige head. Smell of grapefruit, spices, hints of cat pee, zests and herbs, some fruity aromas as well. Heavy sweet, some herbs and some fruits, but i can’t really say i find added fruits or berries. Heavy bitter, resin bomb. As other My name is.... it’s nice enough
3.9Bottle from AmmersinO, Vienna. Copper, clear body, with a medium, creamy, white head. Aroma is very sweet-fruity, with papaya, mango, passion fruit, citrus. Tastes of mango, red berries, passion fruit, citrus, grass, biscuit. Mouthfeel is medium, oily, with a medium carbonation and it finishes medium bitter, sweet, a bit sour and very fruity. A pretty extreme DIPA because of the almost sticky, sweet fruitiness. But still with a good drinkability and very well balanced with also a bitterness and a nice malt backbone. Really good!
3.9Keg at the Brewdog AGM 2014. Aroma is caramel malts, pine and resin. Orange with red hues coloured pour with a steadfast cream head. Flavour is semi sweet caramel / toffee pine hops with smooth citrus. Palate is medium full sticky resin palate. Assertive chewy bitterness. Some berry hop in the finish.

4.2Not to be on the nose. But a very fruity beer. The beautiful fruity aroma invites you in the glass. Lovely berry taste. No aftertaste.
3.6Intensive hoppy, fruity and piny aroma. Small head disappearing to ring. Light amber cloudy body. Intensive citrus bitterness in taste with appropriate sweetness. Unfortunately the finish contains not very pleasant harsh bitterness.
3.2330ml bottle shared with djoeye at Bishops Arms in Luleå. Clear amber coloured body under a white ring of bubbles. Peach, apricot and earthy malts on the nose. Flavours of pine needless, apricot and mid-sweet malts. Leafy bitterness to the ending. Medium bodied. Oily mouth feel. Pleasing stuff (24.05.2014).

4.0Bottled. Drinking it while watching the ice hockey championship 2014 finale Suomi vs Mother Russia with Vladimir Putin present at the game. Coincidence? Anyway, this beer fits the game, overall a very tasty dIPa.
3.8Pours crystal clear amber into the glass, with thick white head. Aroma of citrus, mango, nuts and malt. Taste is balanced with a medium sweetness in the beginning which is rounded up by a good amount of bitterness in the end which leaves a dry feeling on the tongue.
3.6On bottle from Vinmonopolet Norway( on order?. Copper colored ok foam. Aromas of hops, berries, grapefruit & caramel in the finish . Medium/ full body & complexity. Some.immediate sweetness, the. Solid bitterness. enjoyable
3.6330 ml bottle from Drugo, served in a nonic half pint glass. Sunrise orange, pretty clear, with a tiny white head which dissipated quickly leaving a ring of foam. Pretty unique aroma, huge moss smell is the first thing that came to mind. Quite piney and resinous as well, with some tropical notes in the background. Starts sweet for a second, and then a big bitter punch comes in. Citrusy, tropical and fruity taste. Cleatly hop forward, but nicely balanced with a caramel malt component. Long and lingering bitter and musky aftertaste. The alchool is well hidden. Average carbonation, medium body and creamy texture. Good message and good beer. Props.
3.6Bottle at home. Pours a slightly hazy dark orange with a medium, light beige head. Aroma is dominated of grapefruit, pine and grassy hops. The flavour is similar with the addition of lemon and caramel. Slick mouth feel, and has a medium to heavy bitterness. A tasteful, well balanced and nice DIPA.
