A potently bitter hop variety originally grown in the US around 40 years ago, Comet has been newly resurrected - this German version has bold resinous grapefruit flavours.

2.0330ml bottle (?)
Sweet sticky aroma. Even the top pour was cloudy, but this should not be a cloudy beer. Actually has quitean american aroma. Rough taste,so freaking soapy. Ugh, soapy finish. Nope.
3.7330 ml bottle, bb 17/3/15, shared by Werckmeister. Thanks Stefan!
Bright orange, hazy body, with a small, creamy, off white head.
Aroma of glue, but not in an unpleasant way, also apricot, citrus, resin, mild grapefruit, some stone fruits, peeled orange, sweet malts.
Tastes of sweet malts, like candy, citrus, orange, some resin, some pine, alcohol.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation.
Finishes medium bitter, fruity, sweet malty.
Although past the best before date, still very fresh, fruity and pleasant. Drinks very easy, ABV is well hidden. This must have been great fresh!
3.7bottle at home shared with Saeglopur. orange, quite hazy / light cloudy color. small off-white head. smells grass, pines, some sweetness, mango, lightly resin, orange. overall quite nice smell. full body, soft carbonation, quite sweet, melon, honey, orange, peach, light astringent, light alcoholic, pines. light sweet / light fruity bitter finish. quite good, a bit on the sweet side, unfortunatly the bottle was over the BB-date, so not so fresh anymore. I am sure this would be great fresh.
4.2the aroma is fruity and hoppy with some hints of spicy grasses and candy... the taste is malty with notes of tangerine, pine needles, tropical fruits and some spices... sweet, bitter and dry aftertaste...
3.420.4.2014. Clear pale colour. Aroma is fruity, has pine but also some almost metallic, caramel. Taste is sweetish, resinous, piny, grapefruity. Longish finish is bitter with pine and some tangerish or sth I cannot describe, maybe characteristic for Comet? At least the sweet resin seems to be. Tasting with Kohatu, they have different characteristics and Im not sure if I like this that much.
4.1Bottle 0,33L. Hazy copper colour with large, fruity, off-white head, excellent lacing and poor visible carbonation. Aroma of mandarin, mango, orange and pineapple. Light bitter taste with everything mentioned in aroma plus long lasting aftertaste. Medium body, oily texture and soft carbonation. Not as good as Kohatu, but better than EXP 366 and Amarillo.
4.3Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. Hazy amber coloured with orange marmalade and pine flavours, sweet toffee followed by smooth, creamy zesty orange on the finish.
3.7Bottle. Pours golden with an off-white head. Aroma of orange, citrus, pineapple and malt. FLavor is sweet and fruity with some orange, pineapple, some bitterness and citrus. Medium body, average carbonation.

3.6Cooper with a medium white head. Aroma is awesome: pineapples, grapefruit, orange, apricot, caramel, tofee, biscuit and molasses. Taste is eucaliptus, mint, grapefruit, mango, orange, caramel, some toasted, wood and alcoholic notes, very tasty but a little unbalanced. Bittersweet aftertaste with some notes of alcoholic acidity.
3.3Bottle, 330 ml from Magic Beer Room, Zagreb. Pours golden with white head. Nice hoppy and fruity aroma. Fruity flavor but not so hoppy as expected. Expected more body and flavor.
3.7Pours light amber, hazy, with nice beige head. In aroma pineaple and mango. In taste quite dry, very light. Light body, quite thin, average carbonation and bitter finish with fruity aftertaste.
3.6Mikon luona 1/2015, one of the four "IPA is Dead" -selection tasted. Quite light, still balanced.
3.5Bottle from Vinmonopolet Storo enjoyed at home
Copper, very hazy, creamy beige head. Smell of spices, grapefruit, hints of anise or liquorice, caramel malts and resins. Moderate sweet, quite malty flavor, fruity elements, some juicy flavors, spices, citrus and grapefruit. Ends with a medium bitter resiny finish. Very nice
3.4Flaska.
3.0On bottle from Vinmonopolet Hasle, bb date 17/03/2015. Deep golden color, good foam. Medium aroma intensity; very fruity, hops, caramel and vanilla. Medium body & complexity. Some light immediate sweetness, balances well. Enjoyable- but too much caramel for my taste
4.4Pours cloudy orange with a thick, foamy head. Aroma of malt, biscuit dough and pine. Taste is very malty, biscuity with a hint of citrus and a dull bitterness to finish. I thoroughly enjoyed this single hop ipa

Small shortlasting head. Aroma is fresh hoppy, leafs, hops, lawn, rubber, bark, sap, pine needles. Taste is kind of earty, hops, soil, leafs, lawn, pine needles, moss, bark, sugar. Medium to longlasting bitterness, dry mouthfeel. Fair enough.
4.0Bottle 0.3l. Light amber color, hazy liquid. Medium body and carbonation. Aroma of wormwood and citruses. Taste of lime, wormwood and some pineapple. Good one.
3.4Lovely hazy orange golden color with a fine white head. Nice lacing. Tropical fruity, citric and a bit more herbal than usual. Fine body, and maybe little bit to sweet. Flavor is also a bit more herbal than usual. Also citrus hoppy and lots of tropical fruits. A decent IPA, but Comet is not my favorite hop.
[Bottle (batch #073) from Vinmonopolet Vika in Oslo, Norway]
3.5Bouteille 33cl, batch# 073, BB 17/03/2015.
3.5Bouteille: Deep golden, hazy, stable and lacy off-white head; distinctive fruity and cough-syrupy nose; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, a bit fizzy and almost full bodied;lingering drier bitter-grainy finish, balanced by some sweet caramel. Good, good...
3.8Z butelki wyczuwalny grejpfrut. Goryczka niska, prawie niewyczuwalna.
3.1Brun klar med høyt tykt beige skum. Havre og lukt av sydhavsfrukter. Litt lett men bitterheten kommer ettervert. Medium kullsyre
3.533cl bottle from Vinmonopolet, Storo. Pours slightly hazy golden to amber, with an off-white head. Hoppy and fruity aroma with mild citrus notes and hints of red berries, pine and caramel. Medium sweet with balanced hoppy flavours and mild caramel with a fairly bitter finish. Medium+ body with fairly average carbonation. Easy drinking and quite refreshing IPA.
3.8Bottle. Pours a hazy orange-hued straw yellow body with a medium creamy off-white head. Nose is grass, citric peel, grapefruit, pine, red fruits and hints of bread, melon and herbs. Taste is pine, spruce, grass, grapefruit, red fruits and hints of wet grass, herbs and mild caramel. Medium body and carbonation. Quite a lovely, balanced and refreshing IPA from the latest of these boxed set series; I like it a lot.
2.8Bottle from Systembolaget. Aroma has some grapefruit, citrus and hops. Pours deep orange with a medium white head. Taste is a bit bland, with a deep after taste of hops. Palate is thin and leaves more to wish. Overall a beer which is boring taste-wise. It really has more aroma than taste.
